Ironically, this makes it worse. Now everyone who wanted loot just queued up the first day and grinded out sets for all their classes, making the queue time die.

One item per week blows, but because of it, you get people running multiple times to find the thing they want, and the queue is more evenly spread throughout the week. Now you've got to wait 20-30 minutes in queue or more and hope your item drops and you win the roll if there's another class there because the people who actually need items and are running it is rapidly declining.

I just wish MMOs would move away from rotations entirely and go with something else like using abilities based on context instead of spamming them when they're up. Playing a character in an MMO feels more akin to playing a guitar or trumpet, I'd like to see fights flow in such a way that it's more about timing and accuracy for landing your spells/abilities than just pressing things in sequence.

For instance, with BLM, MCH, and DRG, I could pretty much just write a script to execute my abilities in sequence and I'd probably still maintain 95% of my DPS. Like BLM is literally [F4x3-F1-F4x3-B3] for the fire phase and [Foul-T2-B4-F3] for the ice phase, discounting procs like the instant thunder and fire 3 casts and occasional laylines. And really, that's the best part of the class, knowing the fight and how to position and when to pop your cooldowns. I don't know about current WoW, but in Wrath there were tons of fights that had no need for positioning or target switching beyond a couple of times per fight, whereas even an easier dungeon like OM has Cid which requires pretty regular movement.

That title goes to Burning Crusade, which absolutely ruined the lore moreso than almost anything else in WC's history and started the process of streamlining everything to be a boring, flavorless gruel that we currently have. Vanilla WoW didn't really have rotations for most classes until expansions, though I think that was more just because the class ability list wasn't very fleshed out. I remember warlock being mostly shadowbolt spam with maintaining your dots, warrior literally just stacked sunder to 5 and spammed heroic strike/shield slam. Paladins didn't even really hit buttons, you used judgement every 8/10 seconds and refreshed your seal, most of your damage came from autoattack. Everything you did beyond that was as needed, such as blessing of protection on someone getting attacked, or holy light when heals couldn't keep up.

Raids are all the MMO genre can really offer.

Vanilla and BC were fun to play but their class design was not good at all.

Tons of spam 1 spell, auto attack afk or straight broken useless specs.
Wotlk for the most part had a very good class design.

I'd rather see BC's tank design be applied to more stuff, each tank had their own niche they excelled at while still being mostly capable of other things. Warrior could tank high single target damage attacks that came in slowly and regularly, Paladin could tank massive groups of mobs since his shield shaved off a flat amount of damage from each, and Druid could outright soak spells or rapid attacks that ignored the warrior's mitigation abilities. There was a reason and purpose to each class, using them outside of their intended purpose was sub-optimal, but didn't prevent clears.

Now, no one has any particular thing they shine at.

XIV rotations have significantly higher skill cap, have more situational variety, have far more room for improvement and optimization, and are (subjectively) more enjoyable because they use more buttons and have a more interesting and varied flow to them

XIV-style rotations are infinitely better for endgame content, but WoW-style rotations feel a lot cleaner for single player content and just fighting mobs

Leviathan had probably the cheapest overall prices in Primal, the server merge is going to completely tank the economies of smaller ones. I've been on Leviathan since I've started so it's not so terrible to me, but if I were a crafter on a small server, I'd be absolutely furious because all my future shit is probably going to go for a third of what it used to.

Battles usually don't take place directly adjacent to communities. It's very Japanese for big battles to take place in arbitrary fields where two forces meet.
