Bravo, Ed. Bravo.
Make Scorpion the best-developed character in the franchise

Pretty sure Cage is the best developed desu
>Caring about story in a fighting game
Come on user
Good, scorpion sucks
Scorpion's iconic form is the spectre no one cares about human Scorpion
t. Sub-Zero IQ
>Set up Raiden as next antagonist
>Undo all his progression and revert him back to square one again
Nigga he not even a God anymore
he's gonna have to put some ICE on that SICK BURN
I'm playing the story for the first time and why is the game forcing me to play as Cassie Cage? I fucking hate her and it sucks I have to fight against my favorite characters with this cunt.
stop posting
you play as a different character in each chapter you dumbass
Suck my fucking dick.
I can no longer distinguish shitposts from actual retardation on this shithole
Until the next game.
They are probably gonna have it where Liu Kang makes him a god again. Like at this point if Liu Kang and Kitana wanted to see a gay romance between Gorro and Erron Black they can make it happen no questions asked.
I know. But going through that first chapter was absolute cringe.
get over yourself
>Villain reveals they were the cause of everything in the series but you just never saw them until now
Is there a worse antagonist?
you
And yet, you're still responding to them.
I know you people think you're cute with these comments, but the MK reboot has been all about their story modes, and fighting games always had a ton of interesting tidbits thanks to the huge variety of characters and interactions, that up until the past couple gens were relegated to side material.
Maybe.
how many times has cage died?
>chapter 1 is fun with insensitive dick Raiden
>snap him
>everything after is just people mentioning him
>Be the most iconic and famous character in the whole series
>Still be a jobber in canon
It's amazing how Scorpion is the only mascot in fighting games like this. You think of other fighters - Tekken, Street Fighter, KoF, Soul Calibur etc, and their poster boys are always some of the strongest characters in their respective lores. But Scorpion? He's an ant compared to most high-tiers in MK. It's a very unique position to be in.
>entire universe gets reset again anyway
Once pre reboot
hes boon's husbando that NRS just humors by putting him on the cover
That doesn't even matter. He's still the exact same person with the same demeanor, '''wisdom''', and such. All that changed is he can't fart out lightning. At least Raiden losing his cool for once and attacking Outworld and the Netherrealm would have been interesting. Then again probably not knowing how MK11's story panned out.
Doesn't Boon get the final say on everything?
Even his character ending is the worst out of all of them. Everyone else gets their wish except him because a bunch of shadowy gods keep fucking his family.
I'm amazed that reverent Scorpion turned to the good side considering all others are supposed to be too corrupted to ever turn back
Liu Kang's character ending has Raiden become one of his new elder gods.
Heihachi died in Tekken 7.
Jin has been the main character since 3
1. He died to another poster boy
2. He was still one of the three strongest characters in the series, the other two also being poster boys
3. He's not the main poster boy, Jin is.
But we can assume he does ultimately get his wish, since he explicitly states he intends on undertaking a cosmic warpath to behead all the primordial forces that keep fucking with him.
If anything, that would be the perfect MK12, Scorpion going full God of War mode and wiping out the progenitors of the universe.
Does Scorpion's ending reveal who the MK12 antags will be? Those Titan?
>Scorpion kills all the Titans
>Last Titan informs him that he was the one who kept getting their family killed
>Scorpion commits seppuku for destroying reality.
Honestly, that is more in line with the original spirit of the MK franchise.
No clue, I'm just speculating - it shows him fighting some alien looking gods though, so if they DID need some sort of main story line to follow, Scorpion's arcade ending would be the best in my opinion.
All they mention is that Scorpion is hunting down primordial gods called Titans because he thinks they are fucking up his attempts to make a happy world for himself.
Clearly not since before X.
He's unique from the revenants the magic on him is different
why didn't you just skip them then
Well, there are slim pickings for new villains at this point - Shao Kahn is dead and so are Shinnock, Quan Chi, Tsang Shung and Kronika. Having Liu Kang go mad with power would be dumb since that well ran dry with Raiden. Honestly, those titan guys Scorpion was fighting in his ending might be NRS' best bet at this point.
>Meanwhile, Ed's Least Favorite Character gets to be The Fire Thunder God of Time and Space while grabbing his Queen's Ass 24/7
Heihachi only jobs to his family, including Lars. The whole family actually is only capable of beating each other except for a few special cases. Kazuya and Jin actually job to Lars twice in Tekken 6, which is unfortunate considering he's a lame character.
Lui Kang was always the chosen one main character you can't just build a guy up like that and make him a jobber forever
Is Akuma actually a Mishima?
Why doesn't liu Kang put on a shirt
Because he's not a woman.
No, Akuma gets a pass because he's the special guest. That's also why he isn't shown being defeated, not even in the secret battle against Devil Kazuya.
This. It's not even fucking close. But OP is a incel retard so it's not shocking.
I'd just do a villain arc in a new timeline. Have Tsang Shung be the focus of the story and the final boss be Lord Liu Kang. It would be a good opportunity to expand on the backstory of the villains.
Nah, Lui Kang has always been the hero of the story, he won like the first 4 tournaments. His plot armour is nothing new.
I'd be happy if they restarted the time line again and gave it a completely new twist. Shang Tsung being the protag, Sektor being good and Bi Han being a cyber poofter, kano being a good guy who is chasing down Jax and Sonya. Etc
>I'd be happy if they restarted the time line again and gave it a completely new twist.
I dunno. Going the whole time shenanigans route again seems like a cop-out.
He’s a jobber but not quite so bluntly.
>renowned ninja clan leader
>hangover and entire clan killed setting up vengeance
>such a powerful assailant, quan Chi resurrects him to do his bidding, and Shao khan even knows Scorpion on sight
>In Mk 9, Raiden already knew scorpion was going to kill subs
He’s pretty much the best you can be while being from earth realm. He should be able to kick any of the other earth realmsrs asses (not counting bs story due to Cassie single handedly beats an elder god the rest of the cast can’t beat). Picture him as Batman. He’s not supposed to be able to beat Raiden and the likes. He’s just an undead human.
No. No more restart bs. Just have characters die in story as per usual but have the writers think the shit through first. A kid can make a story better than they have been. When characters die, just keep them dead but keep them playable or we will see nrs regretting their last game every time a new one comes. Takeda being killed off was just retarded thinking. Boon loves scorps, has him raise a protege (who could be a great character done right) only to die after said protégés first game. Retarded.
Deception was the best Mortal Kombat story-wise. Prove me wrong.
Shijunku.
Did I spell it right? It's been so long since I played Deception I'm not even sure.
Shujinko
>make Jax a bitch and have PTSD
>have him turn to the evil side for muh daughter
Young Jax was cool though
Why not scorpion and sub zero?
I guess Ryu is strong, but he doesn't really do much. SFV was probably the first time he actually did anything significant with his years of training other than make Sagat mad. Chun Li and Guile have had far more meaningful battles, Ken has gone on to start a family and train pupils (while still not being all that far behind Ryu either), and Akuma goes around destroying mountains and ships while he waits for Ryu's slow ass to be "ready."
I have gyno :(
This. Human scorpion is shit.
Thats because he is old scorpion that never grew up out of his " muuuh clan, muuuh family" tard rage, not hanzo that actually evolves
Would you wear a shirt if you were built like Bruce Lee
>Ed's Least Favorite Character
Make D'Vorah the villain
They dropped the ball hard from Deadly Alliance onward, all those new characters and only 2 of them were alright
Personally i would prefer a peaceful tournament, where deaths are not final, basically a 'dream match' MK where every character from MK9, X and 11 is available.
Since liu kang remade history into a new peaceful world it should be possible, it also can give us a glimpse on how the MK tournament was before Shang Tsung took over ownership.
You can still get gore and shit, but since a benevolent god is at the helm, the deaths would be reversed after each match.
>Takeda being killed off was just retarded thinking.
Wait what
>missed out having Kung Lao's cousin meet with his younger self and all the drama that could've caused
There is no drama. Kung lao is ok with his cousin gagging on cocks. Thats why he didnt became a god
And that's my big problem - any progression Scorpion may have the devs will take away from him at some point.
>Raiden offering to help restore his clan if he lets Bi-Han live
He kills Bi-Han anyway
>Scorpion after years of suffering and misery finally lets go of his rage and accepts the reality of his clan never coming back, therefore being able to move on from it and grow as a character
lol nope we're gonna kill this guy and give you the old angry Scorp again.
Granted, at least the old Scorp grew up a little and promised Hanzo to help Raiden and co out, but he's not the same character as Hanzo, he didn't go through the development that Hanzo did. So it feels like the devs were kind of afraid of turning Scorpion into something he hasn't been for the last 27 years, so they kind of met halfway with the character by killing the developed Hanzo off while also making old Scorpion not quite as angry thanks to what Hanzo told him.
But then that leads to the conundrum of: will it just be recycling and repetitive if Scorpion has to go through even more shit to fully let go of his anger yet again? While it's an interesting scenario Scorpion is in right now, it's also a frustrating one for me.
Pic not related, I just think it's cool.
Mortal Kombat New Trilogy?
>Everyone from MK9, X, 11
>Add Kintaro & Motaro as playable characters
>Also Chameleon/Khameleon return
>Krypt isn't shit/grindy
>That's also why he isn't shown being defeated, not even in the secret battle against Devil Kazuya.
He's shown on his kneed tho.
>Heihachi died
You mean he took a Mishima Vacation?
It hurts to be a noob fan. Ever since he got replaced by his little brother, he has been THE definitive jobber of the franchise.
He "died" in 5 too, right?
Why is the DLC complete shit, the fucking Joker, Terminator who the fuck wanted them. Only saving grace are Spawn and Ash.
Peaceful doesn't fit with the MK franchise. Making a massive roster would be attractive though. You'd think they would have done that for 11 considering the time stream shenanigans. Maybe the next one would be Liu Kang messing up with the sands of time, forcing him into a contest of champions with an accidentally resurrected Kronika. It wouldn't be the first time they recycled bosses.
Still the best (jobber).
-1992
>He should be able to kick any of the other earth realmsrs asses (not counting bs story due to Cassie single handedly beats an elder god the rest of the cast can’t beat).
Problem is, a lot of other Earthrealm characters have such fucking stupid plot armour it borders being anime Shounenshit. I'm pretty sure Johnny Cage and Sonya have kicked Scorpion's ass, and obviously Liu Kang.
If Spawn is actually in I won't use anyone else. He was my main in Soul Calibur 2
>Tekken 5 hits arcades
>has the "Heihachi Mishima is dead" intro
>time passes
A hidden countdown reaches its end
>Heihachi now unlocked for play in the arcade
It was hype, something like that will never happen again
>shitty on the Terminator
>Everybody is hype as fuck for Noob's return after the trailer drops
>He's just a glorified mook in story mode
>motaro playable
That a never ever, not even as a boss fight
Noob has never been a major player in the story. Noob is liked for his cool design and abilities and for some him being the original Sub-Zero. But as Noob Saibot he's never been important, just cool.
>Thinking Heihachi """died"""
Kek. Namco has pulled this shit too many times with the Mishimas for me to believe it for even a second.
>Kazuya "died" in Tekken 2
>Comes back in Tekken 4
>Heihachi "dies" in Tekken 5
>Comes back in the very same game
>Jin "dies" in Tekken 6
>Comes back in the next game
He's gonna be back. Harada isn't fooling anyone.
Wasn't the whole bajilliaverse reset for Kang?
The last time Boon and his team had free reign was with 9 because WB was convinced they couldn't make a game would sell well. After 9 WB is standing right behind Ed every second of his life.
user they misssed that chance with this game. Why would they use it on the next one?
Isn't that counter-productive? If your dev proves to you they can make a game that can sell, why then you you hinder the creative minds that made the game in the first place?
the ending was worse than armageddon
Evidently not since each game sells more than the last.
To monetize the success the devs had beforehand even more of course. You think NRS wanted the Krypt to be set up as it is right now in MK11? WB likely pushed for it, just like how they pushed for the microtransactions in that Middle earth sequel I forget the name of.
Well WB wanted them to do a fighting game immediately after 9 but Boon said that he it'd be too quick for another one (which was bullshit) so WB let them use DC. Notice how Injustice was filled to the brim with costumed dlc and mobile game integration. It all started here.
Don't forget WB is also behind Shadow of War's lootboxes.
The executive meddling is part of WB culture. The moment they smell success, they want to stick their nose into it and claim they were instrumental to a project's success. If they fuck it up, they pin the blame on whoever was supposedly in charge and look for another project to ruin. It's why the first thing on At&t's to-do list after the merger is to cut out the dead weight. They have a lot of cutting to do.
I thought Shujinko was his least favourite?
Damn, there really is no correlation between marketability and quality.
i don't even care about fighting games at all, but i'm glad this has the incels riled up so much i might just buy it
And the worse part about the MK11 situation is that people are honestly going to blame Ed while WB uses him as a scapegoat. He's the one person who has never abandoned the franchise despite having a studio go bankrupt and constant failures of games.
Is he ever referred to as Noob in universe or just Bi-Han?
Just Bi Han. I don't think even Quan Chi called him by his "revenant" name.
With the current ending of Liu Kang (and Kitana for the best ending) reshaping all of time I kind of feel like they're going to try to fix things and fuck it even more like Raiden did in MK9. At least from a pessimistic viewpoint
Someone's going to approach the Lin Kuei to go murder Shirai Ryu. They'll listen but won't even consider it. Meanwhile the Shirai Ryu learn of the deal and in a rage and self defense go and murder all of the Lin Kuei. Reversing the roles, leaving only Cyrax and a young frost alive just to mix up the roster in MK tradition.
Little things happen throughout the realms in this familiar but different way adding up to something even bigger that causes Liu Kang to come down and fix it personally and let time continue normally instead of submitting to the temptation to go pure Kronika
they really fucked with Jax in 11
>X Jax is chilling after coming back
>doesn't want no trouble but comes back to kick ass and get revenge
>11 happens
>wife suddenly dies from a serious case of plot
>becomes a shut-in
>turns into a nervous wreck that literally tears his home apart to find his phone to call his daughter for the 100th time in a day
>spooky white lady shows up and claims to be god of time and will grant wishes if you help her reset the universe
>says yes
Jax you dumbass, even while being a total wreck he shouldn't have trusted a vaguely sinister deity
especially not a white one
I feel bad for Ed. There was this image posted here recently from an interview where he was sitting next to two other people who looked like legit faggots with mental problems. His expression looked like he was contemplating how the hell things got this bad.
Go back to R*ddit
You would think after Ermac blew his arms up and Quan-Chi made him his slave, Jax would think twice about helping some magical person.
WAKANDA FOREVER BROTHA
He was scared, Drunk, DESPERATE.
Of course he ws gonna obey the creepy time lady.
Fucking this also
Post your reaction to
>I know you'll never hear this but
I love you dad
>Self hating nigress kills herself
Nothing to see here. Time for the next character ending.
>depicted as a true american patriot since his inseption
>NRS suddenly does a 360 in his character to shove in some random ass wakanda foevah ending to his arcade ladder
Sometimes you just have to stop and ask them "why?"
Imagine wasting money on things you don't even want because you're that obsessed with other people.
>depicted as a true american patriot since his inseption
>gives him an ending that wipes clean one of America's biggest blemishes as a country
What's the problem?
>Slavery only happened in the US
Hello coaster trash.
>true american patriot
>caring about anywhere but america
I'd sooner imagine Jacqui to have such an idealized ending like that desu
>Jax gives the entire world the America Dream
Why is that a bad thing?
Aside from the fact that it's unpatriotic to change your nation's history since it could very well change it for the worse for all you know, there's also the fact it's completely fucking retarded, because changing that particular aspect of history should logically kill you, since you would not have been born had that history not taken place.
Jax wouldn't even be born in America had slavery never happened.
>ahaha what's wrong with ending slavery, bigot
Hyperbolic and low iq
I think the dumbest thing about this image is the aborigine artwork in the top right corner. Shit's not even african, and it was created by white australians in the 70's to scam tourists. What a trainwreck of a game.
You'd think he'd at least want to stay in america if he loves it so much
He made the entire world America.
They didn't kill him off, stop lying.
>Sub-Zero and Scorpion finally settle their differences and work together, as it should be
>lolno back to the status quo
I'm glad I haven't actually purchased a Mortal Kombat game since 3
But where are the flags?
Yes, they did, retard. He literally died in his younger self's arms.
Anyone playing this game on a stick?
I'm having a hard time deciding what to use. I use a stick in literally every fighting game but comboing into Raiden's superman dive in the air feels awkward as fuck on stick.
He got killed and then later time-wiped.
MK was made with pad in mind so you're better off getting used to that when playing MK
Never played MK except this one. How did Luo Kang and Raiden fight each other in the same exact situations always and only just now realize that some time fuckery was happening?
Sticks are pointless in MK
Its really not a game that works well with an arcade layout
Different timelines. The Raiden and Liu Kang you see in MK11 story mode never fought each other.
Konika or however you spell it was getting more involved this time which set off Red Flags.
>MK was made with pad in mind
So it's not a competitive fighter then?
No, it's kompetitive.
yes, you catch on quick
Any fatality webms?
youtube.com
>Undo all his progression and revert him back to square one again
everyone is reset though, god liu kang is rewriting the whole timeline
>MKX’s ending and several arcade endings point toward Raiden attacking Outworld and Outworld needing to declare Mortal Kombat to defend itself.
>11 says fuck that and just goes for another reboot.
I was actually really excited for Kotal and his Outworld champions to be the good guys.
>abolish slavery
>that means african americans don't exist
>jax is never born
oh boy quite the conundrum
Do you just call anyone you don't agree with an incel? Please go back.
That's only in the normal ending. The good ending has him guarding the current timeline with Kitana.
Press F to pay respects for our favorite blind swordsman.
Why tf people think africans would still dress like this if Africa actually developed? And why tf they ignore all the internal conflicts Africa had for centuries even before white people stepping in?
The second Johnny Cage one is hilarious.
Remember how X set him up as a vengeful warlord? Wtf happened?
F
>devious self-serving bastard in the original timeline
>10d netherrealm chess and double crosses out of the ass
>turned into obedient and subservient shinnok's bitch in reboot
>gets shit on throughout x, dies
>not even mentioned in 11
It hurts, quanbros
Fuck off NRShill
this god fucking damn it. damn it! I was convinced the big deal would be that we FINALLY got another legit Mortal Kombat tournament. Why do the creator's of this franchise hate their franchise so much?!
His revenent counterpart took a backseat as a right hand man to Kronika. He was pretty based when he killed future Sonya in the beginning though and ate the soul of young Liu Kang.
Noob mentions him once just to say he’s free from his control and Jax called him trash.
Only one person at NRS created the franchise, and he just so happens to be the only one who cares about it, and he also doesn't have control over his own creation.
Did you forget Onaga? They could always just make a new one too
nope, even in the good ending raiden says kang is rewriting history
Funny way to spell Sub-Zero user
>Scorpion whole schitck is muh Vengeance
>i MKX he make a Sindel tier fuck up by invading the special forces and killing Quan Chi in the worst time possible
>heck his Shirai Ryu didnt do shit while the Lin kuei helped train the kombat kids and fuck up Kotal Army
reminder mk9 is the canon ending
He died because his voice actor died.
At this point that'd be a small mercy.
He also gets turbo cucked in his tower ending in MKX where elder gods mind rape him
Not a fan of these. The old games were gory but this is disney tier wacky shit.
Nigga, his VA already died once before and it didn't keep Heihachi dead. And T7 was released a whole year before his newer VA died.
Which of the 3 timelines do you like the most? The original, the MK9/X timeline, or the revised-revised timeline that is 11?I was referring to the non-revenant playable in X.
The reason I mention non-revenant is because the two are almost different characters. The revenant shit was pretty bullshit anyway. Remember Enenra?
Oh boy just imagine
>MK 12 will be full SJW bullshit(why you would explain Such Reboot in such short time?)
>Expect shit like Kano Being gay or the minorities being important places and shit
>they Add this titan shit as new bad guys...this looks like some Dragon ball Z shit with always a bigger threat
i REALLY Hope in the 4-5 year span of MK12 lauch the whole SJW crap tone down because shieet
Why doesn't Raiden yell gibberish anymore?
God I'd be so mad if they revealed Cyrax was black and Sektor was a chink to pander to those fucks.
so who is d'vorah going to kill in the next game i bet it's going to be either kotal or jax
He doesn't?
I see what you did there
I said in important places user...The cyborgs will be always sub zero personal jobers
I don't
Hopefully herself so we can get some one worthy back in like Shang Tsung.
It's a nice bait to see if someone's a zoomer who's never played the series but it's too obvious.
I know this sounds pathetic but when I saw Raiden do his superman and not spout 18 syllables of gibberish I knew this series was dead.
The old timeline since bring some nasty shit like the main hero dying and the villains winning for once. Also i found kinda cool the idea of everyone becoming soo powerfull that the gods create a safeguard that lure and destroy the problem
Kotal got krippled so not only is he not going to be playable in the next game, he’s going to be pushed around in a wheelchair by Jade.
then killed by d'vorah
u realize nothing that happened in mk9-11 matters once you get to the ending?
You know what to do Yea Forums
Why do you care? Are you shill?
Do you have brain damage?
Have sex
Remember Smoke?
Don't hurt me like this user...
>The Kung Lao and Liu Kang Bromance
God tier.
Also I felt like the way Liu and Kitana acted in this game made me really like them together
There were some great story beats no doubt.
That scene of all the variants of Liu Kang fighting Raiden was kino.
Even better idea, have Kang stay out of it. Have him explain he understands the cryptic guidance the Elder Gods used to dole out. You can massively scale down the stakes that way.
Yeah this is true. That’s why I said barring story bs, because it was put together like the characters are meaningless action figures. Cassie beating n elder god Raiden and the rest stood no chance against is proof of mk’s terrible story telling rep.
This thread has actually been a joy to read, I honestly never knew Mortal Kombat had actual lore and so many people who cared about it. I only remember playing Armageddon and feeling confused as hell by what the hell was going on in it but thinking that the optional adventure mode[?] was fun.
But apparently Shao Kahn is dead not, which makes me sad because he was always so cool-looking.
This would be cool. I hope they reflect just this with his design next game. This game made me realize just how generic scorpion looks in mkx.
Yeah terminator gets a pass on in with me too. He could be pretty cool. And this is the time based game, he time travels, kinda works
Nah he sucked
Watch the first Mortal Kombat movie if you want to learn the lore behind this convoluted series.
Moments before Akuma gets right back up and tries to blast Kazuya with a gohadoken. I wouldn't really call that a defeat, especially with how relentless Akuma is against his enemies.
