>Smash coming in 2018!
>Ends up being December
>Mario Maker 2 coming in June!
>ends up being the 28th
God damn it, why can't they just release it early in the window they provide? Anyway, Mario Maker 2 thread.

because they'd be releasing it right in the middle of E3 if they did that, which would've basically sent this game out to die...
Never liked most 2D Mario games, but when I picked up Mario Maker on the Wii U I had a blast. Definitely gonna buy this one for my switch.
are there going to be lewd levels ?
WHY THE FUCK THERE IS A KOOPA IN A CAR
Mario Kart style confirmed?
There's not going to be a SMB2 style, is there?
Source?
Smash was lucky to come out in 2018. It definitely needed more time to cook but Nintendo probably pressed for a Christmas release. Online especially was a mess on release.
Why aren't there more ds assets?
the internet
>SMB2 style
>Super Mario Land style
>Super Mario Land 2 style
>NSMBDS style
>Super Paper Mario style
>All Stars reskin for SMB1
>All Stars reskin for SMB3
>Lost Levels reskin for SMB1
Which one would you want most?
What was unique to the 3DS version? I never played it.
>Mario Maker 2 coming in June
>Comes June 28th
I literally don't see what's wrong here
Trying to decide if I should eBay Mario Maker 1 or keep it for collectors purposes.
I was really hoping for it to come before E3, would have been madcomfy getting ready to watch it while playing some hype levels
Any switch games you can recommend?
No, I mean the og ds version. It had the shell power-up, minishroom, and megashroom among other enemies and platforms.
Please let there be a music maker
They do that so they can generate hype around the product while still giving them as much time as possible
Just be fucking patient zoomer
Probably gonna wait on buying it, already have too many games I have to play through. AC day one though. I want a release date already
Smb2 followed by sml2
>Kaizo levels what with the constant instant death obstacles, sadistic traps, and the abundance of enemies taking up the screen
>Getting rid of the storage forcing you to go on no-damage runs through said kaizo levels
>Camera that obscures important information like collectables and incoming enemies
>Yoshi feels more sluggish and awkward
>Boring music
But at least there's slopes.
I want a new super mario bros game with love and passion put into it. Imagine.
>Less worlds but more levels per world
>Each world has a distinct theme, basic grasslands/forest world, water world, jungle world, mountain world, ice world, fire world
>Expands more on the ideas of being able to choose between two different levels from nsmbu
>Instead of choosing between two levels, each world has an intro level, then a split between two sub-themes with 5 levels each, which you can do in whatever order you like
>After beating the first sub-theme you decide upon, you fight the miniboss
>After beating the second sub-theme you decide upon, you fight the boss
>4 playable characters
>Mario (rounded), Luigi (slippery, high jump), Wario (Faster, jumps lower than Mario but farts for a double jump with the same height as Mario's jump overall), Waluigi (Moves slower but can accelerate for higher and farther jumps)
>Each world they get into different base costumes without fire flowers, like for the jungle world Mario dresses up as Indiana Jones, Luigi has a big backpack and the one costume from odyssey, Wario is dressed up as a snake, Waluigi is dressed up like a native
>Graphics are still associated with previous new super mario bros games but have a lot more soul, kind of like Odyssey or 3D World's graphics
>Multiplayer is competitive like 3D World
>More movement options from 3D games like Long jumping and rolling
>More passion put into the background, every level is unique
>No world map, you just walk from one level to the other, and there's a toad hut you can enter at the start of each level where you can see a world map which allows you to pick levels
>Every level has 3 star coins (mostly placed in difficult platforming spots) and one green star (placed in secret areas). Star coins can be cashed in at toad huts for powerups and shit, getting all the green stars in a world unlocks 2 secret levels, one for each theme
Why can't nintendo get off their asses and make it real
>Not just making your own pure ludo levels.
I feel like it's time to do something different from grass forest water ice jungle fire worlds. Get some stuff where you're going to different kingdoms and they vaguely resemble real life cultures. There's a lot of interesting platforming gameplay you could get from a mythic-age poo in loo world for example.
fucking figures they'd release it close to the last day of the month i bet they're gonna waste time showing it at e3 to, even if there's a mini direct about the game in may
Will it have touch screen functionality like the first one? I can't see level designing working as well without it.
The 2D guy have said the next Mario game is gonna be ambitious
just get Dreams if you want to make music in a gimped console version of FL studio
It's gonna be harder to pull off but much more satisfying
The stage builder they just released for Smash lets you use the touch screen. So knowing Nintendo, you probably can't use the touch screen in Mario Maker 2.
predicting it'll be a surprise announcement at E3
You could make more creative stuff with those themes though, which I've actually thought about.
>Grass World would just be basic for the normies who get like 3 levels in and then quit.
>Water world could split up into deep sea and shallow seas.
>Jungle splits up into a darker poisonous almost swamp-like jungle and an aztec temple.
>Mountain world would split into a desert/mesa sort of thing with abandoned factories populated by drybones, as opposed to the mountain sub-theme with tons of crystals and factories with mines.
>Ice world is split up into a glacier sub-theme with tons of flying monsters impeding your way, and a gimmick world where you travel up a train going to the top of the icy mountain, each level being a different cart, with stealth mechanics and shit like that one rayman world
>Volcano world, not sure, but you could definitely think up something fun, maybe split up into a more basic style of volcano and a more unique style like they've done in the past with Odyssey and 3D World?
Also I imagine that the game would tell a story as it progresses. First world is an overrun mushroom kingdom, Second world is an ocean crossing, 3rd world is at the base of the mountain, 4th world is the lower levels of the mountain, 5th world is higher up on the mountain, 6th world is the peak with bowser's castle
I've never played Super Mario Maker. Are you free to switch between the styles as you fancy for any level, are they just skins? Or do they completely change the physics of the level and how Mario controls to match the game the style comes from?
Jumping physics are the same between styles, but he has extra moves in some styles. Like the spin in SMW and NSMB. Can also wall jump only in NSMB.
You select a theme for the level as you create it, and it affects what items you have access to and the physics/controls
Okay thanks a lot, this makes the game sound even better to me. Until now I assumed the styles were just visual and up to the player. Now I understand why people hope for different styles to be included. Super Mario Bros 2 would be interesting just for how different it is, but not being able to play as Peach and Toad loses some of the fun for it.
