i really dont know how you came to this conclusion. i had previously only played and beaten 4 and 5 before trying this one.
after getting fed up with dq9s bullshit about 30 hours in and decided to play 1-3 instead. much better experience overall, especially 3. 5 is still my favorite though.

I've been emulating it and I find it tedious at times. Top-tier job system though.
I just started 5 as well, it's really as great as they say. There's so much charm in the world and it's well designed in a lot of ways. I don't like having to toy with the camera at certain parts.

How are you that bad at crafting? Just use some pearls bro. You can buy them after like 15 hours. Nothing you make before then gets much of a boost from being perfectly crafted.

That's what you get for trying to cheat.
Seriously, just use some damn pearls on the item, if its already +1 or +2, its a lot easier to make it +3. There's no reason to reload your save over it.

Loved this game, was comfy as hell. Too bad it didn't have any actual party members, only the ones you made yourself.

That's the best way desu, it's a shame that hardly any games let you have a party full of nameless choose-your-party OCs like the old days.

It's not a bad DQ by any means, but DQV remains better. The only reason this one could be good is that it's very gameplay focused and you can actually solo the fucker.

DQ9's story is trash though. 95% of the game is just a series of side stories while you're trying to get back to where you fell from and then the last 5% of the game has the Gittish Empire appear out of nowhere to become the main antagonists and then the final boss is someone who's only briefly mentioned at the beginning of the game and never again.

It's like they made 95% of the game before realizing there was no antagonist.

I might like 7's stories more since I played it more recently, but it's stories are fantastic. It's almost always a bitter sweet ending.

The only DQ I've played, and I loved it. Playing through the whole thing with my 2 best mates on our bus rides to and from school, along with the occasional sleepover, are some of the best memories I have. Never tried another in the series since people told me none have as much character customisation or not many others have the full party job system.
