How'd they do it?

People were probably happy that Retro is doing the game now, as opposed to some literally non-existent development team that may or may not have been bandai namco (who the fuck knows).
Retro makes great games os im pretty confident prime 4 will be good at the very least.

Instead of pussyfooting around it they were honest and direct about what happened plus the fact they stated they are getting Retro to make it who are at this point the modern equivalent of Rare during its golden age.
The fiasco sucks but it actually made me respect a company for once.
these
as long as nintendo came out quickly and said "we fucked up, it's not up to our quality, we're restarting with retro" then yeah that's all it needs
if they dragged their asses and kept showing shitty demos or something at E3, future directs, people would be way angrier yes. at least we know we're not getting a bait and switch with a different dev (i never understood why the bandai rumors were thought of as legit)
It turns out a company being honest, admitting they fucked up and then openly saying "We're fixing it this way" works after all. Who knew?
not EA, or blizzard, or bungie, or activision, or literally anybody else with the exception of overkill studios of all devs who walked back their crates in payday 2 and made their game better after that
>shows they actually care about the quality of the end product
>hands over reins to a dev studio that is currently known for producing high quality games and in the past was heavily involved with the franchise
>upfront and honest
>respectful to the prospective customer
There's nothing to be upset about.
"Hey guys, we screwed up. Here's how we're fixing it, please be patient thanks." Its pretty simple.
In a way I'm weirdly happy about this situation.
On one hand, it kinda sucks but on the other hand it's the complete antithesis to game journalists and companies angrily yelling it's the consumer fault somehow despite the fact the company clearly lied or is doing anti-consumer practices.
Like, whenever any shill cries about consumers acting "privileged" just point to Metroid Prime 4.
If you don't treat the people buying your shit like scumbags, then they won't act like scumbags to you.
after the nightmare that was Other M, a game that should have been reset instead of having a 2D control scheme in a 3D game, it was a breath of relief. Retro was a bonus
