Except it didn't. It was outright inferior in every way from level design, world variety, power up variety, aesthetics, and music. The one thing SMW does well is the alternate exit thing but your reward for finding them is yet another mediocre stage that was slightly better hidden than the one you could've gone to if you completed that previous level normally.

Color splash is actually great. Sticker star has no redeeming qualities, but color splash was playable, had good dialogue, and fun interactions. It's no 64 or TTYD. but still a solid entry.

First off, Coins don't make bing noises. it more of a Ba-wang, theres a heavy sound in between, "Bing" is a short sound that doesn't embody or capture the sound effect of a coin, it should be "Ba-wing" "Ba-wang" or something to that effect.

Color splash is like drawn out point and click adventure then a mario or a paper mario game.Like the only reward part of this game is reading,but books do that way better. Being roadblocked because you didn't adventure enough, when adventuring drains your resources is crappy game design.

If I'm going to run around collecting random bullshit the whole game I'll just play Banjo Kazooie.
All the new 2.5D Mario games just seem bland compared to the older games for some reason. It's like comparing the Donkey Kong Country series with DKC Returns, it just feels hollow. Thats why most of them are in the "yet another Mario game" category.
