Not even slightly. Sin is painfully unremarkable. Bad level design, and even game breaking glitches left in the final product. Even a nice set of tits can't get that game into peoples' minds.

The individual game is awesome, but the community it forged (HL, OF, CS, TF, etc etc) made it legendary. The greatness of Half Life is the sum of its parts. To be more specific, its engine.

Half Life is a pretty great story, pretty great presentation for the time, and it has a pretty great legacy, but it's not the best in any of those categories and even vulnerable in other categories.

Half Life was a good mod delivery vehicle that brought us CS, DoD, TFC, The Specialists and some others. The single player was interesting maybe one of the better for a PC FPS but generally speaking I don't like single player FPS games on PC.
All my favorite single player FPS games were on N64.
