It's decent not really that great but still worth playing
One of the things I really disliked about it in particular is that despite having a relatively large interconnected world map like most RE games it's broken up into episodes think more like a DMC game and that makes it mostly linear rather than the free exploration of something like RE2
The other big thing I dislike is that it basically has no inventory management or combining you have an inventory but all that really matters is your ammo/grenade/heal cap
Overall it just kind of has the feel of a more low budget mobile game
The scarmiglione was a great enemy though

A lot of it didn't fit, but there were some creepy and good ambient background songs from the OG soundtrack that were much better than the default's "no-music except vague creepy brass SFX that plays when a zombie aggros you".
The remake did have better boss music and better action / escape music though.

Are handgun critical hits 100% random in Remake 2 or is there some hidden mechanic to it?
Do you do extra damage if your bullet tears through more of the zombie's flesh, like shooting a crawler who is facing you in the shoulder and having the bullet exit out near its ass?
What if a magnum / pistol bullet penetrates through the shoulder / chest like that and then also cuts off a leg on the way out the other side, does it count like two separate shots at least?

I think Claire's laser-sight pistol actually deals the most crit headshots. Every single shot is considered focused (like when the reticule has tightened on other guns) because of the laser.

>Gun Shots have a chance to crit doing x3 damage. (5% chance? dependant on weapon. needs testing)

So a pistol crit, a shotgun blast that most pellets hit, or a magnum shot.
So that means the M19 has a better chance at higher ranks to head pop than the Matilda.

My take on the classic OST in the remake is that the classic themes work great as ambience since the new OST is nonexistent but for scripted sequences/bosses/Mr. X the new themes are more fitting in tone and dynamic.

IMO they shouldn't of have been afraid to weave some of the classic tracks in with the Remake soundtrack. The Marshalling Yard theme fits in really well with the remake sewers, as does the Library track. Either option leaves you missing out and I end up switching them around often.

So hard to rate because its insanely bad AND good. Everything on the ship is amazing. One of the first ship bosses, a navigator calling out for help who has been freakishly transformed is one of the creepiest and best RE boss fights ever.
But it has an episodic structure that is so stupid with constant, Episode Recaps every 30 mins, and constantly swapping to other characters.
Everything off the boat BLOWS. Which is like 40% of the game.
Also last boss is a good 20 to 30 times harder than anything else in the game. He's like a mid-level Dark Souls boss. Not impossible, but you have to treat him like a dark souls boss and learn all his patterns.
If they remade this game with only the ship, it could be one of the best RE games ever.
