HAN-D has an unfinished grapple mechanic in the code. It's unclear weather it would pull him to the target, or the target to him. That would basically make him a fusion of himself and Loader.

It's better by virtue of being finished, but I can definitely say I'm going to play 2 a lot more before it's even released. Something about traversing the environments in 2 feels so good compared to 1's more simple geometry and enemy pathfinding.
Another thing, in maps like Desolate Forest; actually just all the maps, during loops enemies will get stuck on platforms and just mill back and forth (or stand there if they're colossi), whereas in Rain 2 you just see hundreds of enemies actually moving through the landscape to get your ass. There's something satisfying about that compared to 1's platform locked enemies.

True glory is getting huntress to the point where you can run around at Sanic 3, holding M1 to delete everything in your path as you rush to the teleporter on your 4th loop, activate it, and fly around throwing glaives and raining arrows while you spam capacitor and let 3 unstable teslas murder everything that isn't already dead without having to ever land. But I haven't tested it, because the description seems to imply that it makes items drop directly from an enemy corpse, as opposed to having a chest spawn. This would conflict with the command mod, which requires a chest to function (items which drop from shrines and bosses are still random when using command).

Instructions are included on that page, but simply you want to extract the contents of that package such that the winhttp.dll file is sitting next to your Risk of Rain 2.exe file. This should also result in a folder called BepInEX being placed in your install directory. That folder will contain a folder called /plugins, which is where the mod file (the .dll) goes.
You put pretty much every plugin on that site in the /BepInEx/plugins folder. They are all .dll files.
That's all there is to it, once you drop those files in those places everything sort of just works!
The main boost of this was zeus mode.
I intentionally bought 2 gestures and a meteor, but after getting a soulbound catalyst I quickly realised the game was going to crash, so I swapped it for a missiles.
Ended up stacking gestures and got a royal capacitor for full on zeus mode.
Also really interesting was a couple of clovers and happiest mask. Damn near half the enemies on the map became my allies, that would be a seriously powerful build I imagine.

The fungus + n'kuhana's opinion (red horns item) does a great amount of damage in the form of sick ghost skulls when engi+both turrets overlap each other. Each turret acts as a source of skulls in addition to the engi himself.

red whip was fine in ror1 where it gave you 80% speed boost, in ror2 its fucking 30%. that doesn't deserve being green.
Warbanner is 2 Syringes + 2 Hooves conditionally that are never available late in the game. It's a shit item.
Slug falls off extremely quickly because it doesn't "heal" but "regenerate", meaning it has worse synergies than Medkit. Also, unlike Slug, Tooth provides you with a way to heal without leaving combat.
Stun Grenades don't work against bosses, they also deal no damage. Stunning the enemy you're currently attacking gives you nothing unless you are disabled and can't evade for shit. When you have enough items to "attack everything" stunning regular enemies becomes the least of your concerns as those enemies are generally dead already.
Woodsprite is 1.5%HP/sec. It's pretty much nothing 10 minutes in.

slug is good because you'll get the bonus regen as long as you don't get hit. so you can use it without leaving combat just fine

On a level 30 survivor, you'll be healing ~173 HP per second with Slug. None after getting hit. Rejuvenation Rack has no effect on it
Monster Tooth will heal 40 per orb. Assuming level 30, you can easily get like 5 orbs per second when you need it, which is 200 HP. Which works if you just got hit. Which is affected by Rejuvenation Rack and can easily become 400, 800, 1600 HP per second depending on the circumstances. Also, unlike Slug, it will trigger N'kuhana's Opinion.
And yes, Monster Tooth is a shit item, but Slug isn't any better. It's kinda useful early on if you have no proper way of healing, but that's about it.

Miner and Loader had movement abilities that would be good in a 3d environment with more of a focus on straight facefucking than merc.
Acrid would be fine honestly. His goo spreading already have him a move speed boost in the first game that could just be activated to give you a buff that lets you run super fast and spread reskinned blazing enemy trails that also slow. He can cough up a blast of boogers in a targeted aoe to give him some minor ranged ability and his infection ability would be really fucking strong in 2 for fucking over massed spawns. There being more movement items in the game like quail would only make him more viable from a movement standpoint which would help with his close range focus and hit and run tactics.

Acrid is the single melee that isn't fucked at all. Sludge gets sprayed all around him rather than just leaving a small burning trail right behind, neurotoxin works the same but a bit more range and epidemic is made homing. The only problem is that his defense is weaker than that of the others but he makes up for it by being mostly ranged anyways and being able to disengage super easy since most of your damage is over time.

commando is overall a pretty balanced character, stacks very well with on hit effects.

After experimenting for a while, I've come to the conclusion that the first level is always worth rushing - activating TP immediately, even without items, and leaving it before hitting the last third of Easy - unless you got a good 3D-printer.
The second level is only worth rushing if you didn't get decent equipment already, so you can guarantee Preon.
Rushing after that is a terrible idea and you're basically asking RNG to fuck you up. The difficulty begins to scale with teleportations way too high for extra level time to matter.
That being said, starting the second loop you're likely to get enough money for the full map of items by just fighting the boss, so finding TP is a priority anyway. You just do explore the whole map after the fight. Stage 4 during the second loop might require some farming before starting the boss fight, though.
Were you to have some respect for your time, you would've played on Monsoon instead.
Talking, of course, about Monsoon. On Drizzle and Rainzzle you can do whatever you want anyway.
I've popped into some rainstorm games being hosted here and when I host I usually leave it up to everyone else so its usually rainstorm but I have to be honest once you get used to monsoon the first five minutes in rainstorm is excruciating.

I used the easymodo class, but I barely feel accomplished without a cool final boss like Providence. I really hope they put Miner and Sniper back in; I loved those guys.

make acrid's trail surround him in a decent radius and have it work when jumping by being a very fast projectile
give loader 3 conduits with no cooldown between placing them. make them gain height over time like growing pillars and have them absolutely fuck anything caught within.
make miner's basic attack have a decent reach and hit everything in a radius. allow him to basic attack while dashing. have to the stars provide a jump of varying height depending on how long you hold the button down. releasing sets off the blast and prevents fall damage. can go from starjumping to dashing seamlessly.
have han-d's hammer be comically large so he can knock things out of the sky and make the drones regenerate on their own albeit very slowly in addition to restocking on kill. have overheat be a built-in passive that triggers after certain easy conditions are met and replace his third skill with something else.
Now do it with Merc, It's not that hard too and quite the different experience, at least I did so after getting bored of Engi.

The more I play 2, the more I hate the fact that the most dangerous enemy in the early game isn't the stone titan with it's global range punch and tracking laser, the vagrant with its huge explosions, the succ strider with it's long range artillery, the visually impressive golems, the high damage elder lemurians, the Greater Wisp that sometimes feels more dangerous than most bosses, or even the gigantic magma wurm. The thing that kills me in the first loop far more often than all of that shit put together is when the game decides to spawn a cloud of 10-25 wisps and have them all hitscan poke me to death.
I mean, last time I fought him he had like 12 million HP which translates to roughly level 19000 and about 150 thousand damage.
Which seems pretty reasonable to me.

loader lmb could work with a 3 hit like mercenary and with an AOE knockup like beetle guard on the third strike, RMB could be an straight line AOE knockback, shift stays the same probably with increased range to be able to deal with wisps and R should become something to help with crowd control, probably an AOE to pull enemies together
i have the exact same experience but it's usually only on the first stage or two. I ALWAYS focus down wisps first for that reason. always.
BFG has the highest potential of all equipment. Capacitor is just easier to break but if you break BFG it's basically game over for the whole fucking planet.

Also, Radar is quite useful if you get it early. It optimizes your runs allowing you to progress faster while skipping fewer/no items.

yeah i liked the shield too but imo passive skills in a game which characters only have 4 abilities while also having a lot of emphasis on movement can be detrimental, maybe have a shield based on the number of enemies knocked up?

Kinda, but he's still reasonably playable with the right item set up. Still outclassed by everyone else though.
For a first-time Engi run, he's broken as all hell. I barely lifted a finger the whole run, didn't have any close calls or anything of the sort. Just run around shitting out sentries for them to do all the work. Finished loop 1 at around 40 minutes, then managed to do 2 entire loops before 60 minutes. Didn't even bother with mines or shields until I went to fight gold titan, twice. Killed him in a single cycle on my second fight at just past the 2hr mark. Wound up obliterating myself at around 3hrs because even overloading worms weren't a threat even when there were 4 of them.
For being on the intended difficulty, this was almost as dull as drizzle. The dude needs his proc coefficient toned down or something. As neat as it is to have, his turrets are too good to just inherit all of his items with no downside.

I mean the only exposure to engi that I had was how he was in RoR1, I was expecting him to be more similar to how he played there, just with a bubble shield instead of harpoons. Took some getting used to the grenade charge too.
Sentries having free aim along with enemies not being stuck on platforms made it feel way too easy to exploit once I had that down pat compared to RoR1's platform-based combat giving me way more incentive to use mines.

I made him before RoR2 was released, so no models to reference, just the official art from the original game. He's not meant to be a perfect recreation, but rather an interpretation of the character design, and it was my second custom I've ever made.
It's not my best work, I'll give you that. But I still love him.

Commando in particular can utilize brittle crown really well, and both commando and huntress can do really well with transcendence. Fuck glass though, its never worth it.

Risk of Rain 2 is a lot more fun, Risk of Rain 1 goes at a snails pace and the game itself feels like a chore trying to go back to when you just roll sky meadow and think "well I sure hope I find the teleporter or this monsoon run is fucked". Melee is very slow and clunky, and there are a lot of straight up gimmicky or useless items in the first game. The first game is good for what it is sure, and it is still a fun game, but risk of rain 1's pacing feels terrible, especially whenever sky meadow is involved considering sky meadow in general is just unbalanced trash, there are less items, shittier enemies, less money, and is just harder to navigate
Mid-air glaive toss with a bunch of backup mags is free flight time, and the arrow rain launches you further up. Not all the classes have light air maneuvering like that.

Warbanner should be better off as an Equipment like Effigy, drop and pick it back up. I also hate that within the existing implementation, you level up at the end of a level and drop a wasted Warbanner.

My favorite has been Artificer with Void Cube, about 10 Will o Wisp's, a bunch of crowbars, 3x Sentient Meat Hooks, and the Catalyst. Just constantly having cube available, and killing everything that gets sucked into it with nano bombs and will o wisp daisy chains, combined with meat hook pulling things from even farther away into the black hole.

I achieved Blazing Engineer God Status. Red space suit with orange glowing helmet. 100 syringes. Turrets sounded like sped-up miniguns. 3 Ceremonial Daggers produced a hilarious distorted audio "crunching" noise whenever I entered a new stage killing everything instantly, even enemies on the complete far side of the map. Everything stopped spawning eventually.
Do turrents inherit the aspect of fire? Because if no it makes these drops kinda useless for engi.
Its good for the early game when you have a bunch of items that trigger on crit but no glasses
I'm not sure but it got to the point where my equipment charge was useless anyway. I found out though that your turrets inherit Dio's Best Friend every time you spawn them making them extremely powerful having an extra life if they happen to go down.
