Sekiro is literally a rhytm game

That explains why it's so much better than Souls trash.

>all that block mashing

Before someone says you can do this with every game: No not really at least ot with so few inputs. Most games need a lot of directional inputs for positioning and a lot of games also have combos.

From garbage is garbag

Souls is pseudo-turn based
Sekiro is pseudo-rhythm

>MH Westernized garbage edition
Cringe

imagine being so autistic you make this webm and think it proves something

you can do this with every game

is there a mod that does this?

Except it has intentionally shitty rhythms and the punishment for mashing is much lighter.

From’s love of tracking is the single worst thing about all of their games now.

except it's not because the music has no ques of what buttons to press. Have you played a rhythm game user? Sounds like you haven't. Maybe you would have if you spent less time making really stupid webms and more time actually playing video games.

you're not wrong, the fights do usually have a rhythm to them, but is that a bad thing?
there is no on screen prompt telling you when to do everything, it requires you to find the patterns and rhythm's of each enemy

once you master an enemy or boss, and you get perfect deflections and keep up the attack, you can feel the timing of the rhythm of attacks and deflects

Rhythm games aren't even rhythm games. Most of them are just hand-eye coordination games.

Still good tho

are you only able to receive rhythmic cues only by sound? how limited are you?

The rhythms are garbage, that’s the entire problem. All of the game’s difficulty boils down to attacks with weird attacks and dumb looking animations with unnaturally long anticipation pauses to try to get you to act too early. Isshin’s a great example, his three hit combo is like hit . . . . hit . . hit. So once you know the timing, it’s easy, but you’re constantly fighting your own reflexes which feels like shit.

This isn’t a new thing, it’s been with the series forever, but Sekiro really exacerbates it since you have to deflect everything.

It has nothing to do with what I am capable of retard. A rhythm games cues go to music, Sekiros do not, therefore it is not a rhythm game. Do you have reading comprehension issues?

Have you tried not being bad?

>have to deflect
lmao faggot you can beat the entire game without deflecting

What is fun about being “gud” at this shit? You’re not outsmarting your enemy, you aren’t flexing your reflexes, you’re not expressing your playstyle. All I did to beat the game was learn attack timings one boss at a time. It’s totally pointless, even as entertainment.

This is also why NG+ challenge runs are a total joke. There’s no depth to the mechanics, you’re just doing the same state-machine inputs every time, it’s exactly as hard as doing a normal run.

Meaning you have to press the right buttons at the right times?

Well yes, like every other game out there.

all fighting games are rhythm games

so is real life martial arts

if you think about it, desu...

people have made this comparison about fighting games as well

>you’re constantly fighting your own reflexes which feels like shit.

Isshin is the final boss, and as a result he is like the final exam of everything the game has taught you, including delayed deflects (monk, drunkard enemies, etc)
the player being forced to fight their instincts is part of the mastery of the game, just like the childrens game 'Slaps', if you flinch but the other player doesn't fully moved their hand, you get punished, and it's the same way here, it's trying to teach you that whilst honing your reflexes is important, control of those reflexes is just as important
you need to be ready to react, but not too tightly strung

>but you’re constantly fighting your own reflexes which feels like shit.
thats the whole point of a delayed swing. you're meant to have patience and time your response

I've seen some low IQ shit but this is something extra,

Don't worry, Soulsfags can't understand the importance of proactive gameplay in action games.
