For example you need to spend 250 of the heart currency(one of three mobile game like currencies in the game) to get the best loot boxes that contain one skin.

You get 1 heart for each battle and no more than 2 hearts from any given instance. The best way to get them is to just run around the krypt mindlessly to occasionally come across bodies you can pull open for a single heart but those don't respawn unless you spend koins(another currency) to reset things. Also there are these mobs that have an extremely small chance to drop hearts that spawn continuously.

And after you spend hours grinding those 250 hearts you can't decide what character's cosmetics you want. It's 100% completely random so the odds that you get the items you are looking for are incredibly low. In fact everything in the Krypt is random so there is no way to guarantee items for the characters you want and it would take literally years of grind to unlock everything.

-There's like 6 different currencies in the game,
- hundred of identical gear pieces in which all have to level ups.
- The krypt is all lootboxes and RNG. max on stream used a key item he worked to get, and only unlocked a room with 6 koins.
-The only way to directly buy an item is to use the Fortnite/CoD shop which cycles out a few items every 8 hours.
-The currency for this is time crystals, which you can either earn in an impossible tower, or buy with real money. A baraka intro was 750 time crystals which translates to $7.50
-It's not a mater of gitgud. The random modifiers can make towers impossible. For example there's a video of the player getting repelled from the enemy and the only way to not get repelled is by having one specific RNG obtained item. This then prevents progress.

This. The whole thing isn't just "microtransactions bad" since the issues being talked about can't be fixed by buying your way to the unlocks you want. There is only one purchasable currency and it only unlocks a few premium items or resets the Krypt. The progression is fucked for no discernable reason since buying currency won't even make things move faster. It's the weirdest shit.

If you want to unlock things in the Towers of Time (time limited events with rewards) you have to fight characters one at a time ad nauseum, and you have to fight them while there is acid on the ground on my damaging you and not the enemy, and rockets heat seek only you and do 25% damage, and the enemy does full damage still.

Now imagine grinding through this with your favorite character, and you get a shit reward for a character you don't even use. But it's cool cause you can use in game money to buy character specific towers that are even more grindy.

Now imagine you want to add stats to a gear piece, well it's not that simple cause the augments that have the stats can only be placed on specific characters, and on specific gear pieces that character has (each have 3 gear items). So you finally get an augment that is for scorpions spear, BUT scorpions spear can only take an augment that is made up of 1 of 5 elements, and yours isnt that element, so no bueno. Okay so you grind or pay to "re-roll" your gear so you finally have an augment of the right character, for the right gear, that is the right element. BUT you have to grind with that character even more to unlock the slot that allows you to put that augment in.

This is not an exaggeration either.

I'd recommend you just go to twitch and watch people playing through the game's systems. The actual online competitive aspect is good if you just want to play online but the rewards system and unlocking gear is impossibly frustrating.

And of course there's gear, augments and consumables that affect stats offline that you absolutely need to get through some of the bullshit towers the game purposefully makes to frustrate you into spending money.
