I remember being somewhat outraged at Jimmy Kimmel for talking smack that one time but now I can't help but agree with him.
He says “I hate the assholes who spoil events in games I haven’t played yet. I turn on sub only mode because I feel like I can trust my subs to not do this”. This is perfectly understandable since twitch chat is cancer.
They both said it’s hard because twitch chat should have two separate chats. One for spectating where spoiling and hyping is harmless, and one for interacting where they can talk to the streamer. They know this is would be tough to make happen so they just accept that streaming games means not being able to experience a game without knowing what’s coming at all times.
