Why are the consoles so powerfull? Becuase ms and sony will want use them on other things other than gaming, things like streaming games or using them as servers, so they do need to be powerfull.

Actually the xbox one on release was profitable and so was the ps4 provided you bought it with one game. This upcoming gen might be a return to consoles using powerful hardware for the time (360/ps3) and so they might take a big loss on each console initially (potentially $100 or more) however that loss is recouped through physical peripheral sales and digital game sales and purchases through each consoles respective store.
As long as there is money to be made at the end of the day these companies and fine and the fact they're actually going into another gen proves there is money to be made because no company would do something on this scale if it wasn't profitable in one way or another.

Nigger you're talking about a GPU with physically superior hardware and bandwidth (albeit at slightly lower clocks) than an RX580 GPU paired with a CPU which is weaker than what you have in most smartphones nowadays. The jaguar CPU in the consoles was already shit back in 2013 and was targeted for use in fucking tablets. It was a fucking garbage dump of a CPU which speaks volumes of how far AMD have come with ryzen. We're talking going from a literal tablet CPU to actual desktop grade processors in ryzen 3 in the upcoming consoles.
Its almost a miracle this gen has gone on as long as it has considering the tech in the consoles was outdated from DAY ONE. The jaguar CPU in the xbox one x in particular doesn't do the console any justice.

Where did I claim about an RTX 2080? It won't be a 2080 we know from all sources including AMD themselves that the next gen consoles at best will be around GTX 1080/Vega 64 performance give or take.
And as for CPU its CONFIRMED to be using a CPU better than the 2600x. The 2600x is a ryzen 1st gen refresh with 6 cores 12 threads and we know from mark cerny himself (ps4 and ps5 architect) the upcoming console will use a 3rd generation ryzen 3 8 core processor, most likely with SMT enabled. It will be lower clocked at around 3.2ghz according to all the leaks so far. Either way the raw hardware specifications of the upcoming console CPU will exceed a 2600x.

I wish that these next gen consoles would just sell themselves as being PC's. Allow you to install Linux like they did early on with the PS3, but have no lockout on the graphics capabilities. Still make it so you have to enter a special mode to play PS5/Xbone2 games, but make it an affordable prebuilt that everybody just uses for everything.
Low specs PC user will have a hard time playing the newest games when this gen of consoles will land.

The only reason people are still managing to use ancient shit hardware like 2012 i5 and AMD/nvidia GPU is because the current gen consoles released as weak pieces of shit and caused stagnation in the industry. We're finally getting an actual next generation console from both companies sporting the latest and greatest in CPU tech and possibly in GPU tech depending on how good navi even is. Just the CPU alone will be revolutionary for gaming because it allows devs to target a much more powerful baseline than an abortion tablet processor this time round. Anyone who knows about ryzen knows its revolutionary on PC so imagine when consoles come out sporting the latest generation of ryzen 8 core 16 thread processors.
This is some serious revisionist history. This is the only gen where consoles have been worse than even the lowest end PC components like an i3 and 750 ti. In 7th gen the consoles had hardware which was massively more powerful than anything available on PC for a good 3 or so years for example the xbox 360 GPU was the first ever GPU to have unified shaders and it was basically the 2080 ti equivalent of its time (super high end) and GPU didn't start using unified shader models till like 2008.
