I see all kinds of people trying to remake Pokèfloats, but there's just no way to make it work well with the limitations imo. So I tried my hand at a spiritual successor so it wouldn't have to looks weird.

I know the outside edges look a little rough, but they aren't visible ingame (like Pinsir not having arms, Rayquaza's patterning not continuing, Sobble not having legs and hands)

This stage looks great but the edges and sides suck for actually playing on. You can get caught under the lip on the left when recovering close to the stage. The gap in the wall on the right screws up close recoveries too. Characters can get stuck in there. I've yet to find a good version of Meta Crystal that both looks really good but also doesn't have gameplay issues with the stage geometry.

I love it man. I like the extra non grabbable ledge on the right too.

Perhaps create a slope under the left ledge so you can slide up with a recovery easier, like you have on the right. Doesnt have to be a beautiful crystal like you have been making, but hiding a slope behind the ice wall might help it.

Yeah, that's a problem I ran into making mine. Characters with tether recoveries cannot recover whatsoever, they just drop on stages designed like that

What I've noticed from testing mine is that is a character with a tether touches ANY other stage piece than the one they are tethered to, at any point in their arc, the tether just breaks. If you have a vertical ledge only one block thick, it can break it also for no reason needs to be at least two. I hate trying to make stages work for tethers

Basically seems like the case, yeah. Unless they decide to fix it, best case it to just do a "u" shape for the top part of the stage with grabbable ledges, then do any fancy work you need underneath it.

Looks really neat and i like the concept, but i would suggest to add some lava on top to discourage camping, and maybe some on the ceiling of the cave

Shoulders are on the furthest background layer so as to accurately "come out from" the shirt, and the shirt is on the closer background layer. Nothing's in the foreground because it's annoying to have design elements "desync" from the background and disappear when overlapping the camera. And yeah I did hit the object limit. I haven't tried the stage with other people yet, but just from goofing off on it on my own time, it seems like it would be good "jank fun", if that makes any sense. Not a perfect level, but fun if you're just in the mood to fuck around.

Well, even if I can't make the stage perfect, I accomplished what I wanted to do by making a decently animated theme park animatronic abomination within the limits of the stage creator. I'm still kinda proud of it.

Learned how to make diagonals so I updated the stage to be abit neater
also added a water fall that was there in earthbound to push players to try to utilize the bottom and top blast zones more

Good stuff, visually nice, platforms make good use of space for varied terrain and reach. Only issue is that I feel the layout promotes playing in the bottom right (the launch pad) a bit too much.

The dangerousness of the left side as a whole, the amount of investment someone in the bottom right has to put in to get to the top right, and the solid floating platform that will cause wall bounces for low angle attacks make the fight very static if it ends up in that bottom right corner. In practice this ends up with the left side of the stage getting much much less play than the right and the fight rarely flowing naturally to there.

If I had to recommend something I'd say lower the solid floating platform a little so it'd wallbounce fewer things, or perhaps even connect it via a slope to the "launch pad" area.

The stage is otherwise damn good and I'll keep it saved for when I want a space themed free for all. Good shit my dude.

This is pretty solid feedback. I had a feeling that the left side might have ended up not getting enough playtime; lowering the central solid platform is probably a good idea, but I'm afraid that adding further slopes is impossible, as the stage has already reached the prop limit. As for the cannon, I tried pointing it down, but deemed it too unfair. Also, hitboxes are different for characters coming out of a cannon, so some characters would get stuck in the geometry.

yeah, it's 8 player viable right now as it's actually super efficiently built. I could sacrifice 8 player compatibility to add a ton more detail if you think its necessary
