Zero interest in watching these videos. Wish the dude just made this as a bizarre/mystery game it self and released it.

I GOT KING KONG

It started off compelling, but he completely lost me. Get to the fucking point already.

Whoever made this shit is a hack

Shit was better when it was some guy narrating a weird game he found

Does anyone have any legit criticism of this though? All I've seen is "ohh it's too long I want instant payoff plzzz". I will admit that I don't like hidden codes and shit that you have to brighten the screen and all that. I feel like a story is best told when all the pieces are laid before you and putting them together is the puzzle, not finding the pieces in the fucking first place.

I haven't watched it since the first few videos. What is it now?

I don't know what this is. I;m just angry

Is this thing back to being good yet?

yes

Wat is the meaning of this? o_O

after kekking to the sign/king kong shit i had a dream last night where my phone got a notification about petscop 25 coming out. It was gameplay footage of a 3d platformer game, that looked a lot like Sonic 3D blast, but all of the character sprites were petscop characters and the sound effects were from Mario 64. I remember thinking it was funny as fuck and then waking up
I think the point is that to move away from the tradition 'haunted cartridge' creepypasta vibe, the horror comes from how the game's content specifically relates to Paul and his reactions to it. He barely even considers that there's something paranormal going on, but once it starts hitting close to home with things he remembers from his past it starts driving him insane. That's why is right, all of this new shit looking into the game's recordings is kinda interesting but has nothing on the first few videos.

I know the guy who makes these videos, amazed that he's dragging it out for this long

Is it actually Nick Nocturne or was that a ruse?

Shit got too cryptic. It started out as just a weird but believable PS1 game with secret shit that you could find if you thought about it a little, but at this point the solutions to the in-game "puzzles" are so convoluted that it just takes you out of it whenever a puzzle is solved. And people have been saying this for a while now, you'd have to be retarded to not notice.

Reminds me of that mysterious series of videos that ended on an april fools-tier trolling. What was it again?

I just like it when Paul commentates.

It's not him.

IN THE TRUNK

>years of nothing scary, creepy happening
>nothing to do but to wait for new videos
>updates are a year apart and just show us something cool the developer learned in Unity that month

I GOT MANY SPEAKERS UP IN MY TRUNK

It's hard to find this funny when you know the guy was making a game based on the story and he just threw away all credibility doing this.

Buildup /=/ filler
The first episodes were entertaining enough, but it started meandering. It's like Season 2 of Twin Peaks, but extended to an entire year.

That's what makes it even funnier.

The series was over and it was posted on April 1st.

Get over it.

True, it is funny thinking back on it now.

he did that on purpose, he was sick of the little kid fanbase.

BENANAS

>be cool series about a guy playing an old weird game he found
>makes references to real life events, acting is pretty good
>slowly devolves into the narrator not even talking anymore
>now all we get is one video every 3-4 months of a guy fucking around in menus for 13 minutes
>some retard will find meaning in this
>guy uploads 4 vids on one day
>2 of them are fucking around in menus
>one is the guy walking backwards
>the other one is an artistic interpretive dance video
what are the chances he just gave up, realized it was easier to record himself playing around in easy to code menus for a few minutes and collect ad revenue bank, than actually program a game and write a story.
what are the chances he started this off seriously and somewhere along the way, in real life, the guy had a mental breakdown or something and is now a Terry Davis tier guy who thinks he's being really deep and talks to God or something via the ingame menus of a game he made

He has an endgame, right?

>2012
Holy shit has it really been that long?

LEMONADE! : ^ 0

>people datamine it to solve shit
Nah it'd be ruined in a second

>I know the guy who makes these videos
Sure you do.

I liked Old Petscop. A lot of people I talk to tell me that they like the "different direction" its going in, but I miss back when it was a guy playing a weird PS1 beta that was probably just developed by someone fucked up.

That was already something different. Petscop wasn't haunted, it wasn't cursed, it was just a weird unfinished game with weird hidden stuff, the kind of thing that you'd almost sometimes see in actual shitty games from that era. It made me nostalgic for those days as a kid, sitting in front of my PS1 and playing Spyro, seeing faraway lowpoly objects and trying to see if I could fly there despite them obviously just being background elements.

Now it's ruined. Dead to me. I hate it.

Concluse did this.

>there's a chance jadusable is involved with the creation of petscop
But that's just a theory

Post proof or I'll get my dad who works at Sony and you'll be sorry!

>These zoomers don't realize they've been King Kong'd

Yeah, the "deepest lore" about Paul actually being an android being trained by literal NPCs or whatever is dumb as hell, it's gone on far too long.

I don't get it.

This is why you shouldn't write stories as you go, you end up writing yourself into a hole you will never be able to dig yourself out of again.

Why does everyone think the Night Mind furfag is behind everything?

>Yeah, the "deepest lore" about Paul actually being an android being trained by literal NPCs or whatever is dumb as hell
what the fuck? Last time I payed attention he was just some dude that got wrapped up into all this weird shit

>Night Mind
I remember that guy did a theory video on it before it got retarded and reached conclusions about the plot FAR more interesting than the direction the story is actually going.

I highly doubt he is involved.

He said he was going to be doing a webseries and wouldn't announce it was from hik, but would cover the series in one of his videos later. The only new series he covered for a long time after that was Petscop. Probably didn't actually do anything though.

>what are the chances he just gave up, realized it was easier to record himself playing around in easy to code menus for a few minutes and collect ad revenue bank, than actually program a game and write a story.
very likely. it's easy to start a creative project and then suffer burnout. he also doesn't have a patreon, he's not selling a game, and the show is anonymous so we maybe he just has to work to pay bills.

>it was just a weird unfinished game with weird hidden stuff
As I said in one of the earlier threads, that stuff is honestly creepier and more interesting than your lame attempt at a dead kids and men in black creepypasta.

This

Attached: 1996_forest4.jpg (400x300, 16K)

Old Petscop was showing new areas of the game every video. Now that there's no new content it's just sperging over morse code and opaque storytelling method.

I have a feeling Nightmare Masterclass is involved.. After people started harassing a website thinking it was related to Petscop, he did a video telling people not to bother them and directed people to the Petscop description telling them to "wait for Paul". The video was a while after his previous video too, as if he was in a rush to get it out to tell people to stop.

PLOT TWIST: ALL of those fucks are involved, including The Dollar Shave Club and a VPN service.

Whoa what the fuck is that. EWJ is already fucking weird enough but that seems even too out of character for it

YOU CAN HEAR ME FROM A BLOCK

AND YOU ALREADY KNOW WHATS UP

The whole prototype was full with odd 3D models that look like something out of an NES Godzilla-tier creepypasta.

bump

There is no point, as soon as people already figured out he was just referencing some death case of a girl, he was just like "fuck it" and went full blown retard with throwing in random things

That's just some edge theory. Based on the videos it's more like he was off the right age with the other kids that were used by the guy who made the game and this Marvin guy to try to bring people back to life via rebirthing. He's met Rainer, the guy who apparently made the game, in real life before. He also knew one of the kids that went missing. This shit is personal to him. That keeps it interesting, since we know why he's so invested.

Cool. EWJ already creeped me out as a kid. I would have shat my pants with some of this stuff. Wish there was more stuff like this in video games. Cool things to find like unused assets in a room somewhere.

ARGs are an ancient internet art. Making a good one takes too much work, more often than not. And even if it's successful, chances are you're not gonna get even 10K people watching/following/solving etc. because zoomers and younger millennials have the attention span of a frenzied wild animal. This sort of shit is very much an oldfag thing. People love to talk about stuff for short term, not long term. The problem with Petscop right now is that it's taking itself extremely seriously to the point where you feel like the only person that actually has the ability to solve something is the creator himself. You should give people something, but the creator isn't. It's almost nonsensical, trying to be deeper than what it really is. If it stayed as a spooky ps1 game, it would've been better.
