Romance subplots in WRPGs

Yup, and thirsty of blondes my man.
Glad the taste ages like wine.

Aerie is the kinda girl that acts all innocent, but you know she sucks mad dick on the low

>if we live I'm going to empty your balls on a daily basis

what did she mean by this?

I'm sorry but I think that user meant that Aerie is a basic bitch choice that only a 12 year old would seriously consider

yeah she looks like my crush from middle school
>Wait until this evening, and you'll see that I'm anything but innocent!

I was 11 on my first playthrough

Anyone have the really good Pillars of Eternity 2 romances?

Never seen a game handle a main romance plot well, let alone multiple subplots. I just try my best to avoid them now.

The romance subplots in BG2 were an incredibly minor bit of side content. They were just an amusing little aside that were there more for novelty purposes or getting a little more XP. The problem is the novelty resonated so strongly with players that when they talked about the game that was all they fucking talked about. Most of the game's word of mouth dedicated to "Wow dude you can fuck the elf chick" or whatever.

Come modern WRPGs who profess to "trying to recapture the magic of BG2" and they make the romance shit the front and center biggest selling point. It's splattered all over the marketing, eats up all the development time, and probably has stupid mechanics and convoluted bullshit to go along with it. Then people play these games and are confused "huh... why isn't this like muh BG2?" But they never fucking learn do they?
