Decided to check out my local scene, got inspired by SuperAkouma. I've actually been playing Akuma for awhile but never thought he was really tournament viable. Anyway when I got there everyone seemed chill and was talking, they told me to go ahead and play. I sit down next to this guy who looked ridiculous. He had his shirt off and was wearing pajama pants with pikachu slippers. I don't know if he came there like that or what. So I get ready to play this dude and he's a Kazuya player. I hover over Akuma and immediately I hear a loud sigh from him. I turn to him and he's giving me the most disgusted look ever. Then he looks down at my mixbox and says "what the fuck is that bro? Is that even allowed?" he then actually calls over the staff and despite them telling him 5 times it was perfectly legal, he argued with them for 10 minutes. Eventually he said whatever and sat down to play. As I thought this dude was garbage, yellow ranked at most and all he could do was electrics. It was obvious he didn't know the Akuma matchup so I went easy on him, didn't do many demonflips or even go for crazy setups, just whiff punished and the usual. Everytime I launched him or knocked him down he would "psh" really loudly. After I won(3-0'd him both games), I said ggs and he was visibly seething, didn't say anything. He then stood up and clenched his fist like he was about to punch me. So I stood up too. This guy was at most 5'6, and I'm nearly 6'4. with Overwatch you can get coins, getting duplicates gives you coins, and those coins can be used to buy specific items so you're never dependent on RNG to get any one item, you can just save up for that one costume that you really like. and that system works because everyone has their favourite characters in Overwatch and others that they'll rarely touch, with a fighting game you're only going to have at most a few characters that you play regularly, so it seems only logical to have a system that allows you to get unlock everything for those characters while ignoring the rest of the roster, and it's really scummy that they didn't include that.

Saw this a long time ago when I was doing college back in L.A. where some game design students were doing their thing, at least around 2010 and beyond. Most of them were already mobile fags and was only doing it for the fun/novelty aspect.

So there are two different groups of complaints regarding this game.
The first is the one about the female character designs not being sexy enough, which is just people being whiny babies.
The second, legitimate one, is that the grind related to the Krypt and customization/Towers of Time is absolutely absurd. This is a genuine reason to be yelling about the game. The devs have said that they're going to make a big patch to fix it, but I'm skeptical on how fast or thorough a fix this will be.
