What's softlocked is the towers, WB and NRS have created a mobile game-tier grind where you need certain augments for the hardest towers, and getting those augments is RNG in the krypt. The krypt is one big loot box, though at least you csnt spend money on it directly. I'm not sure is casual match takes augments into account either, but it is the mode where you can take your custom movelist in. Thankfully, unlike IJ2, all moves for every character are unlocked at the start for players to mix and match with. Ranked has set variations with no customizing, but NRS has said they'll look into ways to make custom moves work in ranked or tournament play.

Basically if you play MK for any reason besides 1v1 with others, you'll probably dislike 11

It's a better MKX but with the usual fighting game shitty business practices, it's still a good game but people are more hostile to such obvious money-grabbing techniques. As weeks went by and people figured out that Ivy, Siegfried and Azwel are top tier, the decline happened, then the online fiasco because CaS is allowed in ranked and CaS fucks up certain hurtboxes. The game was strong, but the issues and turn around time to fix the issues were slow, thus the decline.

The shop rotates so you can't even spend the small amount of premium currency you earn on what you want unless you're online all the time
Buying shit with premium currency means spending approx $300 on EACH CHARACTER if you got everything. you might not need everything but that tells you how overpriced it all is
