I had 999 of them by the end of the game, what do you mean?
well you must barely use prosthetics or anything at all if thats the case
It's not acquiring them that's the issue, it's the amount that you can use at one time.
maybe I didn't die as much as you :)
You get them back from killing the enemies very often.
this
I went basically tool-less in my first playthrough because I just couldn't be bothered to manage it and on ng+ charmless bell demon I had 999 just sitting in my inventory
how about you fucking balance emblem costing stuff not to be stupidly broken (firecracker) and not completely useless (combat arts that cost emblems) so that it makes more sense that you can carry more at once
What's even worse are the
>pay 4 skill points for +1 emblem
skills
>Waaah why can't I just spam shuriken on everything it's just not fair!!!
Kys yourself opee
I don't see how you can run out of these if you're not spamming your shinobi techniques
I only use the tools against bosses or against especially tough enemies.
It's okay balanced.
I even got those upgrades too but even carrying around 20 emblems I just can't bring myself to actually use any of that shit. it's just such a huge mental block that stresses me out constantly unless I unequip all of the prosthetics
20 emblems is more than enough for tool use
I agree some combat arts are really costly, ninjutsus even more. There's no reason why Bestowal should cost 7 spirit emblems when it's just a slight range extension
Only a one-handed tranny would actually run out of emblems, they hand them over like candy.
>spend 1 emblem killing enemy
>enemy drops 1 emblem
It isn't difficult, then you get the dagger and never run out
Didn't the combat arts/prosthetics that use too many emblems literally JUST GET PATCHED to be more playable? Holy shit, update your game, OP.
except that's not how that works
>swinging your axe costs two human souls
>firecracker + double ichimonji every tough enemy in the game
>repeat
>use not!blood bullets if necessary
>win
What did Miyazaki mean by this?
this
swinging a fucking normal axe should NOT cost anything, especially when the Axe is so specific to combat.
>most of the endgame prosthetic upgrades are downgrades that cost more emblems
this post was made by laz shuriken gang
>use cheat engine to inf prosthetics
>realise that the ability to spam certain prosthetics (namely firecrackers and the fan) ruins the game
I agree though that the current system is also garbage and unfun
yeah the balance is fucking bad without emblem costs
I would be ok with prosthetics costing 1 emblem more per cast if every single mook dropped 1 emblem on death guaranteed. that way you get more flexibility within levels and you can't spam firecrackers endlessly in boss fights
exactly my thoughts about how the emblem balance should have been
there is literally NO reason why you should expend a paper doll to swing an axe
I think about it this way. The prosthetic arm isn't entirely mechanical and needs some sort of magical/spiritual force to function, otherwise how would he be moving his fingers on it? A strenuous action like swinging the heavy axe requires some form of energy to execute
Still better than devil breakers.
For the initial Prosthetic no spirit emblems should be spent, for the upgrades sure, but why the fuck can I not just use my damn fucking arm like it was advertised
I think FROM take this difficulty meme to far sometimes and needlessly add shit like spirit emblems, it does nothing other than make the game tedious.
Hahahahaha.
they're a necessity because of how ridiculously overpowered things like firecrackers are. The emblems are actually a very streamlined solution in comparison to how convoluted it could have been in terms of limitations on prosthetic usage, but I'm still not happy with it because of all the useless shit costing as much as the overpowered stuff. my solution wouldn't change the game too much but it would make the levels a lot more fun to traverse and fight in imo
>cheat engine or mods to make them infinite.
PC wins again, bby.
>Slight
Bestowal hits across the room piercing everything and going through guards. It's absolutely busted.
This
Do you hate hearts in Castlevania, energy in Mega Man, and ammo in Doom as well?
yeah it could be a lot worse.
imagine if you couldn't switch prosthetic on the fly & each one broke after you used them. then you had to buy new ones at the alter.
But user, according to the soulsborne pro ENB, Sekiro is flawless.
>realise that the ability to spam certain prosthetics (namely firecrackers and the fan) ruins the game
Yeah, most of them need some kind of emblem cost to stop you just spamming shurikens or flamethrower attacks or firecrackers or whatever, but melee stuff like the axe and the spear could have worked with a bit of tweaking to just be like an off-hand weapon rather than using emblems (maybe just requiring them for the charge attacks and shit like the flame attacks).
The buffed puppeteer is a lot of fun, i love having my army of monkeys follow me around.
>spend a bunch of points to finally unlock spiral cloud passage
>it costs like 5 emblems to full combo and the result is mediocre anyway
yeah they felt kind of luckluster
hunter tools and guns are so much more effective and actually worth the bullet cost
You're right. It's more like
>spend 1 emblem killing enemy
>enemy drops 1 emblem
>spend 1 emblem killing enemy
>enemy drops 0 emblem
>spend 1 emblem killing enemy
>enemy drops 0 emblem
>spend 1 emblem killing enemy
>enemy drops 5 emblem
>spend 1 emblem killing enemy
>enemy drops 0 emblem
>spend 1 emblem killing enemy
>enemy drops 3 emblem
>spend 1 emblem killing enemy
>enemy drops 0 emblem
>spend 1 emblem killing enemy
>enemy drops 1 emblem
I honestly cant tell if this is bait or not. The last few weeks have showed me, you fags will bitch just about anything
This is my main gripe with the game, the arts in mushin skill tree are incredible looking, but so fucking useless
It's a videogame.
>From nerfed High Monk and Senpou Leaping Kicks' posture damage
Fuck.
They should have used the resurrection mechanic for the prosthetic tools instead, you kill an enemy your prosthetic tool gets recharged.
>prosthetic upgrades increase emblem capacity
That's... actually a pretty cool change.
>he uses firecrackers on every enemy he sees
Beat the game once legit and said fuck it to this. Love using the arts and tools but barely felt the impetus to during NG. Just gave myself infinite on my NG+ run and went Charmless+Bell to compensate.
inb4 cringe twitter pasta
>imagine if you couldn't switch prosthetic on the fly & each one broke after you used them. then you had to buy new ones at the alter.
Having them break when overcharged or if you were struck while using them, I was fine with, but not being able to just switch out your carried devil breakers with the d-pad or something was such a wtf decision.
I think it's just the initial kick that does less, while the rest of the combo does more (which, if you landed the kick, you should be able to do the full combo most of the time), so I think it might be about the same. Not actually got round to testing it myself yet.
>struck while using them
I hated this too. I found it unacceptable. we all get hit from time to time. that's no reason to take away from my moveset and fuck up my entire battle plan that I had to set up in advance because I can't switch. i'd rather loose 2x health than actual moves. now I have to restart and buy and re-organise all my breakers.
Emblems are just like blood vials/bullets. It's easy enough to get them but for that reason they may as well exist as an infinite stock that replenishes on rest instead of being a limited consumable.
>they may as well exist as an infinite stock that replenishes on rest
This. No idea why FROM didn't learn their lesson after Bloodborne.
This combined with the breath of life abillities essentially give you an extra 15 emblems free. I use it all the time.
>prostetic tools
no thanks, casuals
Where do you find this? What does it do?
It's weird that they reverted back to that with healing items. You'd think after introducing the estus system they'd just stick to that because of how well it works in getting around pointless grinding.
Gives you 5 spirit emblems in exchange for some hp. I think you get it from the shichimen warrior
First schimen warrior (one you find in the depths) drops it. Basically works like a nerfed version of blood bullets in Bloodborne: sacrifice 50% of your hp for 5 bonus spirit emblems (you can only have a max of 5 of these bonus emblems at a time). Can do this up to three times per rest.
The animation for it is pretty dope, as Sekiro just slits his throat a bit like it's nothing.
Senpou leaping kick should've just been a latent skill that upgraded the jump kick (or add a new input like unlocking mikiri does, like pressing dodge while in the air). It's a fucking ballache having to pause the game and switch to it every time I see a sweep coming at me, given I'm likely using Double Ichimonji for the other 99% of every fight.
Combat art switching in general feels pretty tedious and badly implemented. It would have been nice if they worked like tools where you could assign three of them and switch between them with a button press.
which mod?
>double ichimonji doesn't replace ichimonji
>high monk doesn't replace senpou leaping kick
>prosthetics that are just a straight upgrade don't replace their inferior version
Why do I have to scroll through so much useless shit to get to the stuff that's actually worth using.
Isshin was a well designed fight but in the end I fight like it finished too soon. I wasn't ready for game's ending proper, either.
>Get Shinobi Axe
>Two enemies with shields come up
>o i c
>The four enemies with shields in Hirata comprise the entirety of all shield users in the game
Literally why?
Well there's the Senpou rats that make all of the rules, as well.
I use empowered mortal blade spam using remaining spririt emblem to quickly finish off bosses in their last phases
Did it at half of the bosses, especially after dodging perilous attack in which the boss cannot block it and will always be stunlocked for as long as you still have spirit emblem to dump.
Skipped demon of hatred's 2nd and 3rd, 2ape's 2nd phase, True monk 3rd, and Isshin's 2nd phase
Boss dies or lost their posture after 5-6 hit combo, which should be at most 18 emblem. Combined with ceremonial knife, you would be able to effectively cheese most bosses and miniboss in a minute
Oh i think i saw a fatty once in senpou temple wielding a shield
>I use empowered mortal blade spam using remaining spririt emblem to quickly finish off bosses in their last phases
You can still use Empowered Mortal Blade without emblems (it just does slightly less damage), so don't feel like you need to save them up to use it or anything.
you can use the axe against other enemies too, genius
You’re pretty fucking bad if you run out of emblems.
