>start new game to get the neglect achievement >choose Steel Soul mode because why not, it's easy to get to that point anyway >get the achievement, keep going >now "stuck" before mantis lords, soul warrior and crystal guardian because I'm shit at bosses and don't wanna risk the run going in with a shot build
Some expert at this that can recommend what charms to get or what areas to explore to beef up? I never expected to get this far but now I wanna try and beat the game in Steel Soul.
Non-100% Steel Soul run is easy mode in its entirety. Just play it normally and don't die. One regular playthrough should've prepared you more than enough. If things get really bad, just hit pause and exit to the main menu.
Isaac Brooks
I beat it in 2.5 hours with no charms. Had to cheese the final boss though
Jeremiah Gray
Lmao thank you so much for the life hack, that's a life saver. Have you managed the 100% Steel Soul? What's the hardest part?
Was planning on going for the speedrun after this run. What's the best route to get it done in
Austin Lee
Not yet. I did Steel Soul run back before the DLCs. But with the DLC adding extra compeltion %, and the achievements still only requiring you to get 100%, the 100% runs became laughably easy. Even before that, 100% Steel Soul wouldn't be too hard, if you abused the save & quit. I didn't, but I didn't do a 100% run. I don't remember which part exactly was that, but the closest I came to dying wasn't actually against any boss, but some random enemy(ies) I fought very sloppy against. In short, don't let your guard down as you go through the levels, and especially the "kill rooms" that trap you inside until all enemies are defeated. The bosses shouldn't be too hard for you now, when you've already learned their patterns.

Will completing this give me some sort of satisfaction, or will it just feel like a pointless waste of time by the end?
Yeah, that's what I thought about the updates. I might check the wiki and do the math later.
What scares me the most are the Watcher Knights desu. If I get to that point I'm gonna have to practice in Godhome for a long fucking while.
Levi Hall
It adds extra journal entries, I believe. Nor required for any of the achievements though.
Aaron Ward
>What's the best route to get it done in
Christopher James
Radiant difficulty does seem pointless desu. Fuck the pantheon of Hallownest too, while we're at it.
Isaiah Cooper
It gives you a nice statue and a journal entry.
Jordan Gray
It's not required on a non-100% run, but you can go for the shade cloak for extra safety. Really though, the Watcher Knights aren't that bad. After killing them so many times in the Pantheon. Multiple bosses present in the arena always make it considerably more difficult even than some bosses with harder patterns, because there's always the RNG factor with them. But generally you can just pogo jump on the Watcher Knights until they're dead. You can do that to a lot of enemies and even bosses. Even Pure Vessel can do virtually nothing against that, as long as you dodge his jump consistently.
Eli Bell
Wait, can you get to Uumuu without the shade cloak? How?
Logan Flores
It's just a training for pantheons mostly
William Gonzalez
>preferably fragile heart yiikes
Jayden Sanchez
Once you kill Soul Master, you can abuse Desolate Dive for invincibility frames. You could even go straight to the Crystal Mound and upgrade it. I died in an enemy room in the top-right of the City of Tears on a Steel Soul run once.
Hunter Taylor
Isma's tear in royal waterways (you need crystal heart to get it). It allows you to swim in acid and allows you to access fog canyon from fungal wastes through small acid pool
Isaac Bell
Oh, nice. I got Isma's Tear pretty late in my first playthrough so I didn't notice that.
It's starting to seem pretty doable now. Hope I don't screw up.

Completing everything on radiant is a very special kind of autistic pleasure. Well, it would have been, if AR and Markoth hadn't existed. Radiant AR probably takes more time than the rest of the hall combined, and you don't even feel good about it because it's just pure fucking RNG, even with all the training.
Zachary Wood
Radiant Markoth is easy though with right charms. I killed him with Fragile Strength, Grubberfly Elegy, Mark of Pride and Quickslash with no sweat. Just pin him to the side and annihilate. AR is indeed the hardest of them all
>not shown: 40+ practice attempts What's the point of the video? Yes, he is perfectly doable. That doesn't mean he's easy. The first time you do him you won't be able to pogo flawlessly like that.
Blake Reyes
Yeah, but 40 attempts of trying that is faster than 40 attempts where you slowly try to whittle him down
Andrew Garcia
I assume AR is like Radiance with an extra layer of bullshit, but what's so bad about Markoth?
Christopher Peterson
>what's so bad about Markoth? He has a new arena, without the floor and with different platform placements. This forces you to jump around a lot, and when you do, his nails can randomly spawn off-screen or right inside you. Plus he has a fuckton of health so you can't just spell spam him in phase 2.
