Joker has a gun, so people are pretty confident that a Resident Evil character is possible. They deserve it honestly, RE is really important to the horror genre and Capcom.

ND and Sony haven't owned him since CTR. Crash is now under Activision which would probably be easy enough to get to agree to it given that they went through the effort to contact Nintendo to use Bowser and DK for Skylanders, which Crash was also in, so might already be a foot in the door sort of scenario if they want to act on it.

Personally I see the remaining 4 characters being Banjo, Crash, Ray man/Erdrick and Doom Slayer to end it off.

Joker has toy guns, yes a technicality but one that matters to the ESRB and Nintendo. I don't see someone with "real" gun being in the game, they addressed this with Snake.

RE is a legendary series, it deserves a rep in smash. What other significant game series are there really left at this point?

Persona rep already proves that characters don't have to come from the most influential series of all time, but I'd like to think that we'll be getting one or two more characters who deserve to be fighting Mario, MegaMan, or Pac-Man.

I would accept this, only if Joker's gun had a orange tip, or looked fake. Fact of the matter is, it looks like a real gun, and it's never been addressed as anything other than that, other than in the source game, where it became a real gun in the metaverse.

I don't think Japan has the orange tip thing though. The game makes it clear that the gun if fake and it's only a matter of perception in the metaverse, the gun doesn't become real but only is perceived as so. Again, it's a weird technicality but it seems rather deliberate on Atlus' part.

I still think Leon's kind of a boring choice, but if they can make him have a unique moveset then I'll probably warm up to him. I felt the same way about Joker, even if I feel Capcom can do better choices.

I can't really think of anything wrong with Crash, he's an icon, even if he's mostly a Sony one. He'd probably be fun, though. Kind of the same with Banjo, would be cool.

I really don't want Crono, though. Like, don't get me wrong, I love CT like anyone else with taste, but I just feel like he's not a great choice, and that means they'd have to wrestle with SE again. A lot of CT's uniqueness comes from the party combinations and dual techs and Chrono as a single character can't really replicate that.

Sad but true. I think the idea of Dual Techs being included in a fighting game like Smash would be cool, but the last game in the "original series" was the DS remake, so it seems to be not as likely for a Square Enix rep when comparing it to a Dragon Quest protagonist/Slime or just another FF rep. Granted, I got all the characters I wanted by Isabelle, so I can't be too broken up

I haven't played a Dragon Quest game, but I do think Crono has the potential to offer more than what characters like Marth and other Swordsman offer. I posted my thoughts here

Aside from Joker, this DLC is great.

I've finished both CT and DQ3 and he doesn't really offer more than Erdrick, maybe Marth, but not Erdrick. Erdrick can teleport, turn into metal, cast tornadoes, put people to sleep, shoot fireballs, shoot lightning, and create explosions. He also can use pretty much every type of weapon. This is why I feel like it's hypocritical to bash Erdrick for being generic while wanting Crono.

Oh yeah that's fair, and 25 dollars isn't gonna kill me, but it still is a fair amount. Hope all stages are as good as Mementos. I think Joker was a shit choice and isn't fun to play, but Mementos is a great casual stage.

Pretty solid roster overall, though if this is the reveal order then the temporary uproar that will come when Crash is revealed before Banjo & Kazooie will be insufferable.
