Maybe it's just my imagination but did the dev ramped up this guy's AI on purpose?
I know I'm bad and all but holy shit he pretty consistently beat 2 other AI players (plus me tried doing some practice, if that even means anything) all by himself.

I've never seen him do a >4 chain, what game are you talking about?

Are they making any more Puyo games? Did Puyo eSports flop?

All of the characters have different difficulties, but I haven't seen anyone post the specifics online.
There exist cheat codes to make AI the same maximum difficulty.

What did he mean

JE T'AIME
TI AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMO
AISHITERU

On Switch I hold L and press A on the character select screen. It'll make a sword noise.

I played the jp switch version that went on sale for 500 yen back then.
He pretty consistently did 6 chains over there. But sometimes he did messed up and I (we) got a free win. Dude probably tried too hard to stack it up.

How come the lines accompanning chains are so cheesy yet catchy? And why are so many of them in so many languages? Klug uses actual latin.

Because Klug is based and puyopilled.

REMINDER:
New (non-anniversary) mainline never ever.
New Feververse never ever.
New proper Madou Monogatari never ever.

oh I see, I always play 20th anniversary and that one is with the select button, although it doesn't make any sound. Also some characters like Draco and Onion Pixy on max difficultly plays as a Skeleton-T AI without rotating the puyo at all.

What's the longest chain you can do, Yea Forums? I can do 7-9 chains fairly consistently now, but 10 is the best I can do.

I can kinda do 6-8 chains consistently, but depends on how shit my opponent is. I'm pretty bad at countering and working around harrassment garbage. I think I've gotten longer chains (>9) but at that point it's more my luck than any actual planning/skill.

With the stair pattern I can do 9~11 chain, but it can be easy to me to lose early with a short surprise combo.

I will admit that *that* user does have a point with how SEGA's been obsessed with Madou and neglecting Fever, so I'll give him that. Doesn't really excuse people shitting on Chronicle needlessly.

Six, but I've only recently picked up Puyo after not playing it for little more than a decade.
I think kid me could kick my fucking ass at Puyo.
