Soul of the Sega Saturn

Attached: Saturn.jpg (960x587, 48K)

I have actual fucking autism Jesus fucking Christ. I even fucked up the filename, the Dreamcast, holy shit.

I love the Genesis

Not dead

saturn's buttons

Game Gear inspired, I like it

What are you DOING user haha how high do you have to BE to even DO something like that hahahaha

My biggest gripe with the Vita is that it's uncomfortable. Which system has the most ergonomic set up? Sure as hell isn't the Switch.

I’m glad others recognize the vita has the highest quality dpad of all time

Yeah man the mega drive was fucking tight

If you think the vita's uncomfortable there's not much better that can be done as far as comfort. maybe the psp or GBA? everything else is pretty square.

As dev friendly as the PS3

1440p, so even if games gotta be 720p you can downscale easy, plus videos.

those nyko grips make the vita pretty comfy. I think the problem in general with handhelds is that for full portability you usually have to sacrifice some ergonomics. gameboys were all terrible to hold after a few hours too. I cant think of a really comfy and fully portable system off top of my head.

Then I'd say give it either the ergonomics of a controller or the build of a handheld with those grips. Same effect, either way.

Vita D-pad is gold standard

Just make the 3ds lol, best handheld of all time.

Not baiting either, a hacked 3ds is the pinnacle of handheld gaming once the switch is hacked wide open like the 3ds the switch might take its place but for now; the 3ds is king.

The Vita itself.
Remove the proprietary memory card
Remove the Content Manager
Bring back the XMB.

Here you go, bro. I've made the perfect portable

textured grips/thumbsticks
vibration
cpu/gpu stronger than a tablet

>My biggest gripe with the Vita is that it's uncomfortable.
whats wrong with your hands? vita is super comfy

>underpowered even for it's time
>240p
>rectangle ergonomics
>circle pad
>emulators and homebrew ports just have a dead screen at the top or bottom
based.

Those clicky 3DS L and R buttons

vita with analog triggers would be nice

make it as easy to hack as the PSP too

GBA Micro screen

>ruins the entire handheld

How would you feel about a slide out keyboard?

>fixes your handheld

Neo Geo pocket color joystick

It needs a decent dpad, the vita's is pretty good.
It needs grips. It hampers portability but most of my portable gaming is done in bed anyway. Make it feel like a standard modern controller as far as grip goes
It needs a proper center of mass. The 3DS was awful at this, was way too top heavy
Dont focus on specs. Tailor it to cheaper games. The original DS has one of the best handheld libraries with tons of variety precisely because it was cheap and easy to develop for. Leads to lots of interesting and quirky titles because theres low risk for developing for it
A decent quality screen. More color and contrast quality over resolution. I'd be fine with a 720p screen if you give me oled quality

you're making a lot of good points, but let me add:

Proper fucking batteries that are easy enough to replace when they break (also actually offering seperate batteries)

I want DUAL proprietary memory cards

I have never seen this, how long after release of the Vita was this a thing?

>USB type c Video out
>Bluetooth 5
>Second screen add-on attachment for 3DS/DS emulation

its easier to hack than a psp.

Built in jumper cables to run on any power source

>those shoulder buttons
>the unnecessary back touch thing

It's pretty recent

american fat hands

I do feel like the Vita was made for small hands, but I can't blame the designers, that's just my problem not the console's.

It could have gave the Vita a longer life span earlier

you know that actually doesn't work unless you include the transformer into the handheld, which would be about 25% of the device and also produce heat and buzz?

just have a bigger battery or an easily swappable one.

basically all the hardware from the vita but with nintendo games

PS4 touchpad on the back
BUT only for Menu controls not Gameplay shit

for the record its actually QHD which is 1/4 of 1080p HD

Take a phone
Give it buttons.
Have it be made by some company that will have good 3rd party support so we can get good games.
Fucking done.

phat gba triggers

Attached: intro3.jpg (300x300, 47K)

I'm playing through the Uncharted game now and it's hard to aim with those bullets. Once I turned gyro back on it's easy enough but just aiming with the sticks is a definite no go.

HDMI out and in

I think we can agree on 1080p Since Screen will be small and with that resulotion we can easily push 60 fps

you need a modded vita to use it which wasn't always this easy to get your hands on

>In
?

The buttons and sticks are too tiny and close to each other. It's a bitch to handle if you don't have girly baby hands.

Vita was mighty comfy, the only part that bugged me a little was how rounded the thing is but definitely more comfy than any of the 3ds models except maybe the of 2ds. The switch is fine for me as long as I'm not trying to use the dpad. I get major cramps with that shit.

The GBA will forever be the most ergonomic handheld.

>tiny face buttons
>buttons too close to the sticks/pad
>useless ass cameras
>awkward shoulder buttons
>utterly useless rear touchpad
>proprietary and grossly overpriced memory cards
>the 3G model's existence in general
>LCD screen of the 2000 model
>give it a touchscreen, but don't include a stylus
>no internal memory until the revision, and even then, a paltry 1GB
>ditched the vastly superior XMB for that unaesthetic menu
>you HAVE to use a PSN account to do anything and it's pretty much stuck on the device once you do

Dear God the Vita was so many fucking steps backwards from the PSP. All it had to do was replace the shitty nub of the PSP and it would've been perfect. But of course Sony had to go full retard.

Attached: No..jpg (540x301, 67K)

so you never played one. got it

Either this is bait, or you need to stop believing everything you read online.
Either way, it's a capacitive screen you muppet.

>everything I don't agree with must be b8

Attached: (You) Paper Mario.png (100x100, 4K)

Capacitive styluses exists, using screen with finger is only good for shitty ecchi waifu rubbing games

40 dollar games

/thread

I don't need to disagree with it when it's factually wrong. It's obvious this pleb has never used a Vita before.
Capacitive styluses are even more garbage. What you're thinking of is a digitiser pen, which is fucking pointless on a games console.

you basically just described a hacked vita kek

Wii U controller body, high res display, Apple A12X SoC on a custom linux based OS

Honestly, this is it right here.
I would take these exact same designs (bar the vita memory cards) with more powerful hardware.
Sadly even nintendo won't be making another handheld.

Attached: handhelds.jpg (4032x6048, 2.35M)

TOP KEK

The handheld will have no sides.

Based sbahj

Why did the vita fail man, it was actually so fucking based.

YOU FORGOT THE GAMES

needs native wireless controller support, and tv out (inb4 "but it's portable", the PSPgo had both of those things)

>when you want to be fp no matter the costs

>nope nope you're wrong! I don't need to explain why, you just are
Compelling argument you've got there.

Attached: 1473040571212.png (317x329, 40K)

you already fucked up with the vita d-pad, should have been the neogeo pocket's dpad

it was kind of a "it's not me, it's you" situation. vita is god tier for people that like games, but normies just want to be glued to their smartphones and play candy crush. that audience didn't exist yet back in 2004 when the PSP was released though. in other words a successor to a successful thing isn't necessarily successful. try typing that shit.

The only way you could make it better is if it was written "Nintendo" instead of Sony on the upper lefft

psvita casing so the dpad fits

>Make the spec high end like today phones
>Ps1-ps3 back bc
>Spec good enough you could emulate wii-u
>5000mah battery with quickcharge
Dream handheld that will never be realized

original GBA

Needs built in hand warmers for those cold days

Attached: 244557372.jpg (1500x1066, 412K)

has a touch screen and upper screen, TWEWY 2 is a launch title

Why do you need to? Nintendo already made it for you.

It’s incredibly convenient on the road to be able to use a device as a screen
