>some people geniuinely thought they would be playing skyrim on max settings on a $80 plastic box
>some people knew exactly what it was yet still thought a shitty android box would do well somehow

>who remember
everybody because every cringy youtuber e-critic is beating this dead horse to this day
yes, ouya it was cancer, what a hot take

What is this thing?

Is this some excuse to promote Kool-Aid?

>THE POWER OF A SMART PHONE
>NOT PORTABLE LIKE A PHONE

I have to give them credit for scamming so many people. They played a good con.

It wasn't that bad, just overhyped.

if you had ever interacted with one of it's rabid hypebabbies you'd revel in it's failure for a decade too

It was a decent portable emulation device before retropi's were a thing

Or rather, I knew about them before I knew about retropis

Attached: ouya_tan_by_liveactionconsole_d9pxuhu-pre.jpg (812x985, 92K)

didn't get anyone anywhere though. it was a net loss front to back for damn near everyone, they couldn't even sell the company for a pittance

Can someone explain the problem? It was advertised as an Android console and it was an Android console. Why were people mad?

Honestly it's probably fuck-awesome.... in a vacuum where no other options exist. Put that piece of shit next to a PS3 (or Wii ffs) and it basically becomes invisible. That's the only playtesting they would have had to do to realize it's not sustainable.

>a Kickstarter project have failed
Woow shocking news.

Attached: images.jpg (766x400, 24K)

No it was marketed as a "revolutionary" product.

I find kitschy gaming trash like this fascinating, for some reason.

Yea Forums said it would flop

Yea Forums was right again

Compared to this turd, Ouya looks almost passable.

Yea Forums is always right, you faget.

That wasn't kickstarter, right? I thought Juicero was funded by Google

There was this kind of "promised land" province of indie games that would be correlated with the console. Except, big fucking surprise, it never materialized. Everything just stayed on steam, sourceforge, etc. The Ouya is something everyone wanted on paper, but nobody wanted in reality.

where did they market it as more than an Android machine?

>imagine if you could push a button and reset the entire video video game industry
youtu.be/kUI0smiApYY

where did they market it as more than an Android machine?

All the problems of the internet of things in one device, for the low low price of $399.99!

don't pretend like they didn't associate new AAA games with their piece of shit in any way possible, despite never actually promising anything.

Are you stupid or pretending?

Yea Forums is always negative and the industry is a shitpile so they match up a lot. i think optimism is for people with zero pattern recocnition or forethought, personally.

might've been indiegogo or something but it was deffo crowdfunded

The best part of it is still the "wish list" of games that backers would like to see on it. The list was hilariously impractical.
>Skyrim
>Cowadoody
>FIFA
>AssCreed
Licensing issues aside, the system probably couldn't come close to handling them.

No answer then

Attached: google-stadia-infrastruttura-contenuti-secondo-microsoft-v3-372912.jpg (1280x720, 43K)

Nah it was a kickstarter project. Founder bankrupted the company and ran away with the money. Saddest thing is he still insist on his dead on arrival projects.
youtu.be/oI-Ye8SP708

I did gave you an answer but you have reading comprehension.

I can't wait for Stadia to launch. It's going to be such a trainwreck

It was developed and marketed for richfags with more money than good sense.
You'd think this is a solid business plan (there is no lack of stupidity to be turned into money), but it shut down anyway.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juicero

But is it skookum?

Don't tell me he's a jew

pls do not

>streaming gaming
The problem is like with esports: journos are going to keep pushing it as the next "hottest trend" in their advertising department until even they are forced to accept it's not viable anymore.
Someone else will try something Stadia-like, guaranteed.

>esports
B-but esports are DA FEWWWWWWCHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURE

Honestly I don't think they scammed anyone so much as let people's stupidity go unchecked to their advantage. People were just retarded and didn't know what they were supporting because they didn't take the time to do minimal research/they were completely tech illiterate. They thought because it was a console being released in 2013 that it somehow magically made it a "current gen" console that would be on the same footing as the PS4 and XB1 that only costs $100 despite the fact that people kept trying to point out to them "dude, it's literally a tablet without a built in screen."

>Someone else will try something Stadia-like
*ahem*

Attached: onlive.jpg (3300x1859, 217K)

onlive threads were great.

The controller doesnt look half bad. Can anyone verify it's quality (or lack of it)?

Onlive still kinda exists though. Sony bought up all the patents and uses it's infrastructure for Playstation Now.

Attached: file.png (720x480, 288K)

I think the best part was the commercial lol

youtube.com/watch?v=g0ha6Mb5_YQ

No, Sony uses Gaikai which was a former competitor of Onlive. Sony swallowed up both streaming companies though.

How did so many people fall for this? Was there some sort of false advertising involved, or did gamers really not fucking think "Oh gee, how will a small fucking cube run GTA V?"

Btw the CEO and co founder of OUYA (Julie Uhrman) is now the president of media at Playboy

Beats me.
The moment the CEO cunt went on stage and wouldn't stop saying television should have set off all the warning alarms.
Wasn't this thing priced at like $100?

youtube.com/watch?v=00gAbgBu8R4

>there were people on Yea Forums who actually fell for this

Scamming boomers dumb enough to buy print porn?

youtube.com/watch?v=g0ha6Mb5_YQ

Attached: 1386469339653.jpg (243x203, 8K)

Mate, the Ouya is passable compare to that because at the Ouya cost $100 compared to the Pissero which cost $700/$400

Attached: giphy[1].gif (480x201, 3.66M)

Huh. I somehow didn't know about this and they're seemingly still committed to scamming people with this. Fascinating.

Yep, it was $100 and retards really thought Arma 2 would run on this thing. The fact that it said "ran on Android" in the first sentence of the kickstarter page should have alerted anybody to what kind of product this would end up being.

Wishful thinking. The backers truly did not put a lot of thought into it.
It has a genuine niche, for surveying and map-making or something. Certainly not gaming as it was hyped up to be.

Had to fix that picture a bit.

Attached: fixed.jpg (312x364, 24K)

What's the biggest gamble you've taken on a KS, if you have? Has it worked out? Pic related. And so far.

Attached: KD KS.png (543x140, 4K)

But esports are extremely popular.
The problem is that the scenes grew alongside a good game, whereas every shit tier aaa title has an esport already dedicated to it before launch. SC, dota, lol, csgo, siege, smash etc all have massive esport scenes. I don't understand how that can be conflated with fads like the ouya and stream services.

What's the kickstater, if you dont mind sharing?

Kingdom death: Monster. /tg/ stuff.

What the fuck

Dunno, 20 bucks to skull girls?

fuck you Calarts

Somebody say calarts?

Attached: 20190422_200244.jpg (312x364, 50K)

STOP

What's wrong? Dont like the reboot?

>this degradation in quality
western animation was a mistake

Western animation is the reason Anime exists unfortunately.

Fuck, I remember this. I discovered during a YouTube browsing session late at night in 2012, when there also was the concept of the wearable Nokia phone

It's also amazing that the "100.000x better quality" is not even better than fucking Assassin's Creed Victory

What was the last hardware blunder on this scale prior to this?

What are you talking about? Of course they have quality? GAYYYYY QUALITYYYY!!!! *clap emoji*

OnLive?
Zeebo?

>the merging of the gender symbols in her hat
kek

That's interesting

Oh yeah, OnLive was a thing. I think Zeebo was always targeted at third world countries or some shit like that.

youtu.be/_Cp-BGQfpHQ

Awesome party games came out from it, though...
Bombsquad, Towerfall, Duck Game!

Liam did :)

I gave like five dollars to Yooka Laylee
