Yu's more memorable if you take things like then anime and spinoffs into account, but in the games themselves I like Joker more. I would give best soundtrack to P4G though.

I'm playing P3 now that I've played or own nearly every game on PS3/PS4 that I've wanted to play. JRPGs are such a time investment, so I'm saving them for last until I catch up on all the shorter games. P3 is addictive as fugggg. I'm thinking about buying DQ11 tonight just to have it, but I don't really know how DQ compares to Persona.

How do you feel about P3 so far? I thought it was pretty comfy.

Great and addictive gameplay with likeable characters. The game is a daunting task though, being eighty hours long and potentially 120 hours long. That would be my only complaint, but a long play time affects all JRPGs, so... I couldn't see the game any other way since it's really addictive.

5 is the easiest to get into, they modernized the systems and it looks/plays damn good. 3-4 are pretty comparable systems and game play wise, some of the best the PS2 has to offer but still a bit dated. I would argue they are better content wise than 5. 1-2 are for old heads who really like persona or SMT, they aren't casual friendly especially as a first game.

I disagree. The unique dungeons in P4 are just linear corridors with nothing interesting going on and ambushing enemies is a bitch because of how narrow and long each corridor tends to be. Tartarus is far less offensive.

5 has all the QoL changes and is by far the easiest to pick up but people have reported that they have a lot of quirks with the previous games due to the lack of comfort.
I'd suggest starting with 3 FES and see how well you can put up with it. We have been for ages until 5 and then you might even appreciate the QoL changes even more.

They're far worse than Tartarus. Tartarus has randomized floors and can be very simple or mazelike. Some floors may be full of items but have a faster Reaper spawn time. There's way more going on and the individual floors are shorter so it feels less tedious.

Yeaah I love p1. It had some really memorable bosses (like that mouse machine thing). I don't think it gets enough love.

The pacing is also great, it feels like time naturally progresses as you move to different places. Most of the characters aren't as fleshed out but that's to be expected in an SMT formatted game; the story and atmosphere are usually the priorities.

I feel like a lot of P4's problems has to do with the fact that so much of the plot was changed around during development... the devs admitted to switching the main antag like 4 fucking times.

First it was going to be Yukiko, then it was going to be Dojima, then Dojima and Adachi, finally just Adachi. Not to mention there are two other pseudo villains who were just there to be red herrings and a final le villain throwback in Golden... from the very beginning they didn't know what they wanted. The story is just a mess.

No they aren't, they have completely different generation. Tartarus floors are smaller and more interconnected, more focused on the rooms and not so much hallways, while the p4 dungeons are bigger floors filled with long hallways

P6 absolutely needs some kind of shared living space or hangout spot. You hardly get to see your friends interacting with each other without you around in 4 and 5, it gives off the feeling that nobody wants to do anything with each other.

The stipulation is and always has been that the character needed to be featured in a game on a Nintendo console, not just the current system. People are a bit miffed at the inclusion of Cloud and Joker because they barely count through loopholes. However, FFVII was announced for Switch after Cloud got in, so people are assuming the same will happen for Joker and P5.

As of right now, P4G is the best game overall. Better gameplay than 3, doesn’t suffer from pacing issues like 3, doesn’t have a small calendar like 5. 5 will probably top it though, with its enhanced edition.

Nanako should've died and stayed dead in Persona 4. If they had done that and had there actually be consequences to you and your friends playing grabass Scooby Doo, I think Persona 4 would've been thematically a much better game.

The character who thinks is the most lawful one is the most chaotic one, aka Dojima, and also Nanako's mother is dead because he killed her and obviously wouldn't want to admit it to anyone. Nocturne definitely excels at atmosphere, but is very weak in story. It's one of the exceptions.

Sorry if you got offended that I said a lot of Persona 1's characters aren't as fleshed out, but the fact is that Persona 1 excels the most in atmosphere and story in a very similar fashion that SMT games do. That is why people compare them often to the mainline games.
