Actually, after not having played it in maybe 4 years i reinstalled it together with the Prepare to die again mod that changes all item locations, lots of enemy locations, moves some bon fires etc. to provide a "fresh" experience for people who know the game in and out. It has been refreshing.

It does indeed look like the original version but without the framerate going to shit in Blighttown.
However, the framerate drops notably during the fights against Seath and Kalameet, and the audio is always compressed to hell.

All the alpha effects got squished because lolswitch

It doesn't, From or whomever ported it are just incompetent. It's still a decent port minus the audio, which personally doesn't bother me because I don't use headphones.

I played this game twice and never cared about summoning. Why would you take the challenge of the game by summoning an overpowered stranger that will just destroy the boss?

Sure but it certainly isn't worse than PS3 or 360. Some games are undeniably visually impressive given that it's a portable console.

I had this mentality initially and then I got into summoning and had way more fun. Not because I wanted to beat tough bosses, but it's just fun doing co-op and playing with other people.

You realize it uses like 20% of the power of other consoles right?
Even the 360 slim used a lot more juice and looks just as bad most of the time.

I always do my first run without summoning then my later ones I will use NPC summons because they are usually retarded and some need it for quest stuff
After I do all the quests and find all the npc summons I like to bro-op and invade

Should I consume boss souls in 2? I always kept them in the first one and didn't end up doing anything with them.

You make weapons with them
Its just completion stuff so consume otherwise if you dot care.
