Played 7 a few month ago and it was really great.
VII > everything else.
VI = 15/10
IV = 9/10
V = 8.5/10
VII-IX= 8
XII = Best asses/10
XIII = First 20 hours 3/10 after that 7.5/10
I-III = Famicom/10
X/XIV = addiction and trannys/10
XV = gay fanciction/10
incoming shit taste, you were warned
XIII > IX > XIV = XI > V > VIII > VI > VII > X > IV > XII > III > I > II
I have not yet played CV
Tactics->3->7->1-> crap
*XV
>pretending I-III don't have completely playable remakes
Don't get me wrong, they're still medicore, but at least they're medicore now.
V > IX > IV > VII > VI > The rest >>>>>>>>>> VIII
XI > everything else > XIV
V > III > VI > I > IV > VII > II > IX > VIII > X > the rest
LRXIII > VI > V > VII > III > XIII-2 > X-2 > II > BCVII > I > The point, where my start to dislike them more than like them > IV > IX > IVTAY > X > DoCVII > XII > CCVII > XIII > VIII [> XV, from what I can tell from afar]
The SNES games would be at the top
7 would be right below them
*the rest not mentioned here*
2
8
*dogshit*
15 - so bad I never bothered playing after the free updates
How come 6 is constantly hailed and highly rated on here lads? What makes it better than 7/8/X?
Not saying I'm a 3D-era elitist just genuinely want to know so I can figure out if it's worth me emulating it or not.
VII > V > IV > IX > VIII > X > VI > XII > I > XV > III > II > X-2 > XIII-2 > LR > XIII
old meme because people couldn't handle how popular FF7 was so they pretend that proto-FF7 is superior
6 > Bravely Second > 4 > Bravely Default > 3 > 5 > Four Heroes of Light > 1 > 2
everything, memorable soundtrack, best villain and best secondary comic relief villain, great characters, hidden zones, glitches, each character had a unique combat mechanic, actual world exploration with rewards, good story, solid presentation and narrative.
The only bad thing about VI it's the translation, I forget which one is the best and how to get it, but the default one for SNES is kinda bad.
6 > 7 > Final Fantasy Legend II (SAGA2) > X-2 > The ones I haven't played >>>>>>>>>>>>> 12 (only saved because of the hentai of Penelo and all the bunny girls being so good) > Crystal Chronicles

VI
VII
IX
XII
VIII
X
IV
V
XIII
Never played I, II, III, XI, XIV, and DEFINITELY not XV (because I'm not spending time or money on a stupid homo boyband roadtrip simulator whose battle system is press 1 button the entire game like XIII)
5>6>9>10>8>7>4
I replayed 3-7 again because people kept telling me it was just nostalgia glasses why I liked VII and in the end it turned out to be
VII
IV = V
VI
III
Why do people pretend VI is so great again? It was definitely interesting and then you ended up having a crapton of characters you no longer care for and the ruined world part literally brings no memory to mind.
Gonna play IX next since I can't be assed to find a good VIII port.
VI is good, but overrated. IV and V are better gameplay-wise and have pretty solid stories (and it's not like VI story is a masterpiece).
I do not know for others, but for me personally the gameplay-story-customization-setting integration is unprecedented. Magic is super important to each and unlocks simultaneously and sets you apart from the rest, thus it makes sense that you would be the ones to rescue the world. Then the characters themselves are amazing and their role, which they very luckily aren't bound to (I know many people like that, but I've always been more on the opposite side of the scale of full customization), contributes to setting them apart beyond their personalities. All wrapped up in a constant dark atmosphere and an incredible sense of scale. In addition the setting is believably human, because there's a lot of humor as there should be. Also because of the hardware limitations, cutting about 90% of the story, makes it so it's engaging you to bridge gaps through implication yourself and be active. As such the gameplay doesn't get bogged down by the story either. The twists are also nice and I especially enjoy the final release of the ending. The main themes of love and hope permeate every aspect and character, including NPCs, in the game, setting it apart from the rest of the series and giving it an identity and purpose. This also gives you a reason to care about saving them beyond the fun adventure. The fun which the developers never forgot, except for the incredibly dull and awful part where you have to play as Celes. Both parts around it are 10/10 and are two excitedly different, amazing games. It's a complete package, for achieving what it set out to do.
>What makes it better than 7/8/X?
The completeness, scale, music, atmosphere, party member count, NPCs, villain, singular FF character, story telling methods, story itself, depicted era and sprite design. It isn't a slouch in areas, it fails to surpass the trio.
In any case, it's worth emulating for at least a try. Also if you want to like Terra, the original SNES Woolsey translation is obligatory.
VIII > VII > VI > IV < IX > X > V > III > the rest
VI is too bloated for its own good.
"Every character can be a MC" approach is stupid and ends up making 2/3 of the cast irrelevant (and ones like Locke, Setzer or Edgar are only relevant in SOME parts of the story).
It also needed memorable antagonists who isn't Kefka for the first half, more interactions between party memebers and better game balance.
Its heart and head are in the right place, but it was overally ambitious for the time and OST is the only part of the game which lives up to hype.
Boobs. I also did not finish it. But it had boobs.
Personally I like the characters a lot. In the case of 7 the characters arent very interesting to me and they dont really interact with each other that much outside of their arcs making me care even less about them.
>TOP TIER
Tactics, V
>HIGH TIER
VII, VIII, X, Tactics Advance
>MID TIER
I, VI, IX
>LOW TIER
IV, XII, X-2
>BOTTOM TIER
XIII

Those are all I played.
Crystal Chronicles > XIII-2 (gameplay only) > X-2 (rikku only) > XIV >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> rest
mmos maybe too high but not awful
VII > Tactics> XII > IX > IV = V > VI > XIV> XV > VIII> X > XIII
Of the entries I've beaten
VII>IX>XV>XIII
What is the best way to play VIII? Steam or PS1 classic?
only list worth your time itt
6 > 12 > 5 > 4 > 7 > 1
And those are all the ones I've completed.
FF Cecil - One of the weirder stories, but it works for FF. The combat system wasn't anything to write home about, but the world was fun to explore and whimsical.
FF Bartz - Job system was grand, crystal story is somehow lamer than FF Cecil's, best old man.
FF Terra - Best story. great cast. Good twists. Cool secrets. Great soundtrack. Awesome sprite-work
FF Cloud - Materia is my favourite FF system bar none. Pretty good cinematics. Cast mostly coasts on looking cool. Story is entertaining enough. Cloud is not an emo.
FF Squall - Great cardgame. Scaling enemies was dumb
FF Vivi - Had some other fag as protagonist for some reason. World didn't draw me in. Best Bahamut VS Alexandre cinematic
FF Tidus - Ew
FF pirate-cabing-boy - Made me drop the series
FF Spin-offs - Usually delightful
>xiii in last
Easy way to spot meme rankings that should be immediately discounted.
That's quite bizarre.
>XIII-2 (gameplay only) > X-2 (rikku only)
What? I'm going to need some elaboration. Is the former, because if you make a low Crystarium run, the bosses actually have interesting attributes, normal players, that naturally become overpowered, never even notice are there? And the latter is just Rikku as a character (probable, but then if she's your waifu, why isn't she at the top?) or a Rikku only playthrough (unlikely, but if so then even I don't know what that restriction brings to the table?)?
it's real bad user. newer entries didn't change that. Protags get a 2/6
VI is the best. That's all that matters. VII is highly overrated.
rikku's dressphere designs are turbo cumdump tier but its not enough to save the other aspects of the game
xiii-2 is the best because of a few reasons
>does monster captures right, in that you fight alongside monsters instead of just telling them to hit each other
>incredibly fast paced compared to other turn games even compared to xiii
>bosses aren't immune to status and debuffs n shit so you actually have a fucking reason to use them
>time travel while convoluted gives you a good way to reuse assets without them feeling like the exact same thing
>builds are linear but party setup can be incredibly diverse depending on what you're trying to do
>while the clock puzzles are fucking bullshit and i hate them they are more puzzle-y than 99% of video games
IX > VII > X > IV > VIII > III > VI > V > I > II >XII > X-2 > XIII
VI is the most overrated game in the series, bloated cast with a shit second half and a joker ripoff
>a joker ripoff
kefka is way cooler than some capeshit faggot
how many villains also play the part of comic relief who want to destroy the world and actually succeed?
IX is best FF because pic related
Actual best is X
It is not 'real bad'. It is objectively better than at least half of the mainline games. Nostalgia is for blind fools, user.
XIII is literally the worst final fantasy you fucking moron
>they don't like the game I like!!!
Seethe more toriyama
I played it 10 years ago, nostalgia isn't making it prettier. The only thing that holds up is its presentation which can be said for just about any entry
Kefka is pretty dang dope alright
It is objectively better than I-V. I'd argue personally it was a better corridor than X.
The battle system also puts it above a lot of the games.
II is literally the worst final fantasy you meme spouting retard.
The battle system would be fine without auto-attack. And Legend of Legaia already exists for that sort of multi-command system.
>It is objectively better than I-V
nah it's objectively shittier than those except maybe II
>II is literally the worst final fantasy
you shouldn't be calling anyone a meme spouter considering you're spewing one of the oldest memes you imbecile
XIII and XV are the best kappa
Of the ones I've played:
8 > 12 > 5 = 7 > 10 > 9
Of the whole series based on what I know about them and only played bits of
8 > 12 > 5 = 7 > 14 > 10 > 6 > 4 > 13 > 9 > 3 > 2 > 1
youtube.com
Nobuo invented the reggaeton genre.
7 > 6 > 8 > 9 > 12 > 4 > 10 > 1
These are the ones I played. 10 and 1 were so bad I didn't finish them.
>kefka is way cooler than some capeshit faggot
>how many villains also play the part of comic relief who want to destroy the world and actually succeed?
Except he didn't actually succeed.
>in the ending credits we inexplicably see the world restored to its natural beauty and lush forests, as if nothing happened
>even the fucking auction house is still going on as normal during the supposed apocalypse
>even after ascending to godhood, kefka can simply be beaten by a bunch of puny mortals
Kefka is a joke.
LOL II IS THE WORST FF???? you clearly never played it. Back to your hallway simulator you 2 IQ toddler
FF7 --> FF6 --> FF8 --> FF9 --> Dogshit --> FFX
Didn't play any others.
I'm more offended you're using Hope's sprite instead of Serah's than that using Amano Terra. I of course disagree with your chart placements a lot as well, but it's pretty and easy to gauge.
>i started 7 never finished it bc it was boring but it had cool characters
>i started 6 and completely forgot about the game.
>i started 13 and dropped it bc it was bad.
ps1>snes>ps2
the rest are irrelevant.
Tactics > Tactics Advance > 12 > VII > V > VI > X > IX > IV
I just really like Ivalice.
Tactics > all, but for just the numbered series?
7 = 6 > 9 > 10 = 12 > 4 > 8 = 13 = 15 > 5 > 3 > 1 > 2
Not counting 11 and 14 because they're MMOs and fundamentally different games.
>t. old fag that played all these games when they were releasing for the first time (with the exception of 1, I played that maybe 4 years after it released with my father because I was still a bit too young in '87)
