Sunshine was a decade too early. If it came out today it would be the shit.
>FLUDD gets removed
>can't get past Delfino Airstrip
>game ends in the first five minutes
That's why he got rid of the plaza. You wouldn't be blocked off from anything.
They should've just made the entire island a vast open world to do activities in, like a huge Mario Odyssey map
Ways to fix sunshine:
-Remove sunsprites, make them stars
-Remove fludd
-Remove paint
-Remove the vacation aspect
-Remove defino plaza
-Remove bowser junior
-Replace with Peach's castle
There, fixed it and made it the perfect Mario game.
FLUDD is great, stop being a shitter. If you were shit at the game and constantly used the hover to course correct ya it's boring but if you were good it was tons of fun to use.
>Get rid of the very things that made this 3D mario vastly unique and memorable
>make it super mario 64 but on an island
boring, this is why i didn't like Galaxy. it was super mario 64 but in space.
how are u supposed to get to anything if theres no plaza. try again retard
if you remove the jetpack entirely a lot of the cooler bits of the game like sliding on puddles to go fast go with it
they just need to make it so you have all the nozzles at the same time and lean less on "just stand there and spray the hose at something that cant fight back" and how slow it takes to hover
the hat jumps in oddsey and mario being able to sonic roll largely replace these mechanics though, so if you actually meant "just remake sunshine in the oddsey engine" I'd be 100% on board
No, the real way to fix it is
>have shine sprite requirements a la Mario 64 instead of "do this shitty dark mario chase" for every stage
>make the areas interconnected instead of separated. They're already geographically close to each other, just remove the load screens
>make it 60fps like the prerelease version
There, mariokino. Game has flaws but I also feel like its the most daring mainline mario since 64, so I appreciate the FLUDD and tropical setting for that reason.
>have shine sprite requirements a la Mario 64 instead of "do this shitty dark mario chase" for every stage
instead of a platforming challenge you'd rather dumb shit like "shoot this random segment of a wall"?
Just add the option to "remove" the FLUDD whenever you want and have access to long jumps.
Remove the need to have to seek out nozzles.
Remove the need to find sources of water.
In turn, put a cooldown on how frequently you can use FLUDD to prevent hovering abuse.
Fix stupid shit like bumping into anything with a blooper being an instakill.
Remove irritating shines like the pachinko shit or the giant watermelon or eel teeth cleaning.
Remove blue coins or at the very least show which ones you have and which you don't FFS.
Sunshine had a god tier location, but mostly unfun tasks that felt more like chores than any semblance of fun.
So removing the things that make the game great would somehow make it even better?
you cant fix Sunshine, its already perfect
The platforming challenge is sugarcoating it. It was fun the first time but after that it was just the exact same thing every stage.
And no I mean lock progress behind shine requirements, so you can choose which shines to do in each stage like in 64. Not sure what you're talking about with shoot at random wall segments unless you're referring to that shitty star at thwomps fortress but thats the exception not the rule.
If there is no plaza then there is no rest of the game because the whole game is on the airstrip. 10/10.
Or you could not use the Fludd at all.
The green text is correct but the black isn’t. How the fuck is Galaxy just 64 in space?
Step one: develop the game for at least two more years
Sunshine was pretty fuckin rushed
>get rid of the one mechanic that makes it different form other Mario games
But FLUDD is fun, friend.
>travel all around the island at will using the Rocket and Turbo nozzles
Would be fun as fuck
Mario Galaxy was basically the cave levels from Sunshine, random floating island in space with barely any theme at all and really didn't add anything new or important to the Mario series as a whole
Sunshine gave us
>Fludd and a direct tie-in with Luigi's mansion because of Gadd Science
>A whole new plantlike Islander race
>a canon part of the Mario world that's far from the mushroom kingdom but still abides the same Mario laws of physics
>a large number of never before seen enemies that definitely feel like the kind of enemies you'd find in a Mario game
>courtroom battles
>the reveal that Mario really likes seafood
Really, what other Mario game than this has really added as much unique shit as Sunshine? Odyssey was a hot turd compared to it in actual world design, everything feel like random warp zones into places that has absolutely nothing to do with Mario games. And Galaxy is just boring ass floating platform and reused enemy designs.
Sunshine is perfect and doesn't need to change a single thing. Imo it's the best 3d Mario game by a lot.
Objectively the best 3d Mario game. They need to do the same idea in the next game but without the fludd
I think Fludd was good, they need a gimmick for the gameplay to not get too stale. We don't need Fludd specifically, but I do not some other moment gimmick that keeps the game fresh.
Hell, I'd even welcome Fludd 2.0, with some improvements and new mechanics. Like perhaps being able to switch between all nozzles without opening boxes, like a skill wheel.
