I'm just a sucker for this kind of anime-mystery style that you find in 999, Danganronpa, etc. Besides that, nice level of challenge in the dungeons and combat (I was on 3/5 difficulty, which was hard at times) Also quite unique combat: weird mix of turn based and free roaming on the grid. It's memorable at least. Nice character development (especially Rinko, that was funny). Reviews also criticised the game for having 'too much stuff' to do but I never found that to be a problem. It was nice having the town/people management aspect on top of the VN and dungeon crawling. Really not too much work and added some depth.

The shit bits were I guess that certain character's backgrounds or motives seemed too weak to push the 'working through our weaknesses makes us stronger' angle the story was going for. Oh no I wrote a bad article. Not exactly worth topping yourself over. Also the combat system was broken at times. Dungeons where you only die when an enemy appears out of nowhere, not really a fair challenge, but not a big deal really once you start to expect it. Also the menu music started off being really great but became extremely jarring towards the end of the game. My clock was 48 hours, and hearing that same tune every time a menu was open, or when crafting, or when doing anything like that, sucked. Also the ending was shit

Can someone explain to me why none of the characters react when they found out Zen's father is a monkey. They never even mention it, as if it's not something shocking. Ignoring the fact that it's not even genetically possible.

Right at the end Haruto realises they've been misunderstanding what 0 lives meant and that actually 0 means 1. That seemed like a cheap way of reversing everything.

He was. When Zen sees his grand/father and mother, they're in their monkey forms and Zen keeps talking about him being a monkey. That mixed with the incest was the main point of the chapter.

No grinding required except maybe for items, but I finished the game having only done it for a couple of items, like getting bamboo for arrows. The combat looks bad, and is broken, but it still requires some quick thinking and good reactions to dodge. It can be kinda fun.

But then everyone ends up being born through incest which will end up giving humans permanent health effects.

All versions as far as I know. That said, I'm not a reliable source. I read some details on a couple websites, saw a couple of the pictures, and added it to my Steam wishlist for next paycheck. I might be wrong in some fashion.
