Really it's time we just face facts: they are using an objectively worse, obsolete control scheme in an MMO. Don't even try to defend them here, that's completely asinine. The way crossbars work you have to click 4 different buttons to reach a skill that doesn't happen to be one of the few available on the bar you are using. Even worse if its on the pet bar. And you still have to switch back when necessary, more button presses. They end up spending three to four times as much presses to do what a M+KB is doing. And then the targetting! Fuck, a controller player has to scroll through EVERY. SINGLE. TARGET. To get what they want. With a mouse you just click, and done. Like .5 secs if you have fat hands. Plus mouseover macros, another amazing tool out of the reach of controllerfags.

it's fine, my experience on balmung was probably the most relaxed in terms of player attitude out of any of the worlds i've played on. legitimately you won't ever get hit up for rp or erp or anything like that unless you're visible from space it's how obvious you're fishing for it (ie wearing the rp tag), and if somebody's weird and pushy about it you can just block them and they cease to exist in your game

Always the healer that insists being undergeared and minimum level for the instance is fine. Always confident. Always the one that leaves. Can't comprehend that I might not have the next ability my class gets either cause I'm not actually max level for the dungeon.

Usually a white mage too. Go figure. Other healers don't get that overconfident in their ability to service a bare bones tank. Too used to the stat bloat of end game tanks doing roulettes. No concept of the fact the leveling down mechanics don't perfectly match you for a tank that level.

The DPS never rock the boat in these scenarios. Usually they are just happy to be there. What with having a queue ten times as long as me and all.

I dunno. I was a DRG through all of 2.0 and 3.0 content, and only picked up DRK for Stormblood and it has quickly become my new main. It’s fun as fuck having everyone rely on me, and even though I’m not the best at it I just do small pulls and take the dung at own pace. If someone doesn’t like it they can eat my shit. I let them know it’s gonna be a small pull run from the start.

I listened to a friend and made on Balmung back when the server was sort of normal and was never locked for population issues. Then it became known as the ERP server and became permanently locked for new characters. Yes the quality of groups noticably dipped. I would transfer, but my friends are all here for the same grandfathered in reasons. And I mean actual real friends I can meet and have known for over ten years.

Honesty, I'm getting tired of playing Bard/MCH in savage and don't want to be a healer. Nor some shitlicker pure DPS who is ultimately replaceable and meaningless. I've been considering going all in on tanks soon. Except the kind of people you meet on Balmung makes one unironically want to cause team wipes. Most have no concept that other people exist.

The current idea of treating raid as a scoreboard is simply what pisses me off. You get retards complaining about meta comps despite the fact that any job can clear because they think they have to place on some imaginary ranking chart when the majority of times they can't even stay alive through the fight. It's like having the entire community treat a singleplayer game as a speed run every time they play, completely missing all the fun things that need you to take your time along the way.

Clear savage and ultimate on the reg? Sounds great, start working on tuning your DPS to clear faster, it's obviously easy enough that you don't have to focus on anything else. Still struggling to get your first clear? Don't be a retard and stand in DPS stance then get mad when you lose aggro, or let someone die because you needed to refresh Aero II, or worse, get yourself killed trying to squeeze in another Fire IV before moving out of the danger zone. Almost every fight in XIV is about playing it well over passing a DPS check, so long as you handle things properly, you will finish the majority of fights in one night.
