I like SFV and don't play MK but I don't think V is a substitute.

I occasionally get the itch to boot up sfv, but I just don't feel motivated to keep playing. It just feels like the game is so offensive momentum heavy while also not having really diverse ways to do that, so everything is either meaty crush counter or throw. I'm just in gold or super gold though, I dont know enough about most of the cast's frame data to challenge a lot of stuff
