I've seen him play these games. During cut scenes or story portions of video games he gets up and walks away to get some more tea
I think the only time he's ever acknowledged story is when he said senator armstrong had reasonable ideas
How does anyone completely disregard story or context? I've seen people flat out ignore dialogue and be lost right after

>How does anyone completely disregard story or context?
games stories are shit

I play games for gameplay and then I read a book if I want some story.

>I think the only time he's ever acknowledged story is when he said senator armstrong had reasonable ideas
based

your dad sounds pretty based

A year ago I literally played the entirety of the Neverwinter Nights main campaign without reading the text and skipping cutscenes.
If the story isn't good, why waste time on it? Don't get me wrong, I like some game stories. If the story has more emphasis put on it like in Ace Attorney or some jrpg for example.

story in games is shit

>20+ years of LOD
>released 2001
Your dad sounds pretty fucking amazing

Hmm, idk really. I'm super into Metroid lore and replaying every single game hundreds of times and I realized how other people could not care or see the depth of lore and timeline or all the games. I suppose Metroid prime fixes the balance with the logbook, which scans whatever item of interest you stumble upon and care about, otherwise you're just having fun blasting shit playing the actual game.

He would read a book if he gave a fuck about story you dumb faggot.

Does he read books or watch any movies/shows with good story? If yes, then he just has good taste, since this is correct.

>the virgin son
Wastes countless hours watching cutscenes
Gets emotionally invested in fake people
Absorbs shitty leftist narratives

>the chad dad
Uses time effectively even in his hobbies
Knows that gameplay is the most important part of a game
Doesn't know the main character's name

Am I just a lore fag? I don't like playing video games without learning the story as much as I can. Even if it's a bad story i still want to know

>> my dad 100% ass creed black flag 4 TIMES
>> has no clue what's going on in the game
Have you played black flag? The story is fucking retarded and nonsensical apart from the opening. The assassin bits and the story are the worst parts of that pirate sim.

I guess so. I would rather play the game. Lore is meaningless to me unless it's actually good.

My dad pirated thousands of tv shows and movies to "complete his collection" and has them playing in the background while he plays warframe

I don't need a story to love a game, but if there is one, usually I'll wanna know all about it

All asscreed stories are dumb as fuck but the I dont see how anyone can ignore whats being told to them so they can know what to do

Tbh I cant play metroid prime without autistically scanning everything I can. Even at the beginning I like scanning the pirates because they all have different flavor text on how they died

What about shit gameplay but good story? Would you stop playing if it wasn't fun?

Dunno, depends on the game and genre.
