Dualshock 4. The people that say its crap are just meming.

Dualshock 2 and 3. The dualshock 4 is alright.

I like the original PlayStation controller
Comfiest way to play pre-dualshock era games, especially JRPGs

Attached: 300px-PSX-Original-Controller[1].png (300x261, 56K)

It's not crap, it's just the battery is not appropriate compared to almost any other modern wireless controller

Definitely not the dualshock 4 with it's useless meme features, dualshock 3 would be great if not for how cheap they feel, every xbox controller is a steaming pile of shit so that leaves the only two controllers worth a damn, and 9 times out of 10 I'll put a dualshock 2 over a gamecube controller but both feel great to hold. Snes controller is up there somewhere.

Wiiu pro controler

Anyone know where I can find an original PS3 controller (not used)? Mine died and I guess it's the battery so I'm waiting on a replacement one, but it could be the circuit board after all so I'm looking for alternatives but it seems they (Sony ones) vanished and only chink shit knock-offs exist anymore.

Agree with everything, I'll add that the N64 really wasn't that bad.

The battery is pretty shitty.

The battery is a non-issue; if, after 6 hours of playing wirelessly you are running out of battery power, you can just plug your controller in.

Design of dualshock 3 with dualshock 4's build quality.

I have these controllers:
-SNES controller
-PSOne DualShock
-Some third party no brand controller for PS2
-A Nubytech SF 15th Anniversary controller
-Wii classic controller
-Gamecube controller
-Xbox 360 wired controller
-Sixaxis
-Xbox One controller (1708)

And I tried the DS4. The one that has given me less trouble (aside from analog triggers) is the sixaxis. The d-pad has absolutely 0 issues and the face buttons feel better than any other gamepad. I don't miss one input on that shit.

Yeah, the N64 controller gets a bad rep largely based on it's questionable design but it's a very useable controller and the trigger placement is really satisfying for certain games.

It's crap, not meming

That 8bitdo M30 controller.

That kinda defeats the purpose of wireless.

psONEds1>sixaxis>ds2>ps1ds1>ps1d>ds3>ds4

Some time ago I would have said ds4, but detachable joycons are so fucking based. If someone made adult sized joycons with big joystick and shit it would be the best controller ever.

Why do people like the dualshock 1-3 at all? Even though I had a ps1 and ps3 I have no nostalgia for it. The controller is so small and uncomfortable. Also the build quality is super shit. Dualshock 4 though is so nice except the dpad, it actually fits in your hands

Saturn model 2 controller

I've tried PSone dual shocks versus regular ps1 dual shocks and I couldn't notice a difference between them besides the rounder connector.

I always loved the 360 controller for the sheer fact that when you put that batteries in, it felt like you would loading a double barrel.

For me, it's the GameCube controller

>battery bloats up and stops working

XBONES controller
360 controller
GCN controller
In that order

360 has a shitty dpad, else it would be top

I have mine since the PS3 released and it still works though.

What the fuck are you on about? I have my original DS3 from 10 years ago, it has better battery life than DS4 after all this time

Why do you have to lie like that?

Makes my hands sweat too easily desu, the plastic feels cheap as shit

Attached: hori fighting commander.jpg (1000x1000, 47K)

But I'm not lying, I play my PS3 more often than my PS4. I charge the DS3 like once every 3 days, compared to my DS4 where I have to charge it everyday.

nah i've sixaxis and ds3 that are over decade old. both work perfectly and keep the charge.

Had this happen, only if you leave the battery uncharged for way loong time.

DS2.

It's shit. Not Xbox level shit, but still shit.

absolute rip-off

my uncles joystick

same, with a mayfly adapter I can use it on literally anything as well including my PS3

How is the dpad on this thing? Seems like a good controller, but hard to tell if I'd like the dpad

Same. Every person that's fine with the battery on the DS4 is a shill, I swear to god. It's not good compared to the xbone with the charging kit, the xbox 360 with that, the DS3 or plenty other third party controllers. All because muh gyro and touchpad

WiiU Pro controller.

I never used a perfect controller, there's always something bad

I have tried the SNES controller, what with everyone saying it's the "perfect" controller for 2D shit and fuck that. There's next to no travel, it feels awful mushy and it's generally uncomfortable after a short while. I checked to see if there was something wrong inside the controller but nah, pretty clean, no stickiness and the rubber pads don't seem worn out at all.

Too true, there's literally no such thing. I don't know why it's so god damned difficult to create the perfect gamepad.

There's one thing that's irritating about the saturn controller for me. It's that it's perfect on almost every level, but the 6 button layout makes it awkward with SNES/PS1.

Pretty much this, but I don't get why, feels like we could make perfect controllers but we don't

non claw pleb

Attached: hori.jpg (300x300, 9K)

I'm guessing:
1. R&D
2. Gotta cheap out on something or it'll be expensive enough for people not to want to buy it
3. If it's too conventional without any new features people aren't gonna get interested either
4. The people making these gamepads are more bothered about ergonomics than the things actually working well
5. Patents
6. Different preferences

I mean shit. For me the perfect gamepad would be like this:

-Xbox one controller shape or similar
-Analog triggers with a little bit less depth (so I could put my middle finger just below them, behind the gamepad and still be able to hit LB/RB without stretching my fingers
-Dualshock 3 buttons, or buttons with microswitches that won't miss a single input or do double inputs by mistake
-Pressure sensitive buttons (fuck you I liked them)
-360 controller analog sticks, maybe a bit more accurate/better deadzone
-Saturn d-pad, or if it can't be round, DS3 d-pad
-The rest just xbone stuff

I bought the xbox one controller just a while ago. Sure it's actually quite great and the d-pad is much, much better than the stupid shit on the 360 controller. But it is still quite flawed. The sticks and triggers have very little resistance. The face buttons (specially the A and Y ones for some reason) miss quite a few inputs if I don't actually press them like I mean it, they're finicky. The d-pad is amazing for anything with cardinal directions, but circle motions are a disaster.

There is something I don't get. Is the digital PS1 controller actually that different (aside from the obvious, not having sticks or rumble) from the dual shock? I see a lot of people praise it, I guess because it's lighter (?) but surely there must be something else, right? Maybe the d-pad is better?

For me all what I literally need it the 360 controller but with the thumbsticks of the DS4 controller and the D-pad of either DS3, DS4 or Saturn controller. Perhaps even the good old plus shape one but only if its a really good one. Also the black and white buttons from the OG. There perfect controller imo.

Is there a reason why people prefer the dualshock dpads? That's the one thing I absolutely hate on those controllers. Fighting games on them always end up killing my thumb. Imo the vita dpad is the best thing I've ever used, and I can only like dpads that are similar to it. I don't like circle dpads either, but I can understand why people like those at least.

Yeah, I don't get why they don't do the extra button gimmick anymore. 2 more face buttons (as long as they're properly placed) like black and white would be nice.

To be honest all that really bothers me is the d-pad. Too many people saying "oh just ditch old games and play with analog sticks, d-pads are useless now" but a good d-pad is crucial for anything 2D, fuck the analog stick shit. I'm not gonna play something like hollow knight with an analog stick, fuck that shit.

But somehow, they fuck it up. They had perfect designs ages ago and they don't do that anymore.

Precision. I get what you mean by hurting thumbs: the separation between directional buttons does no favors to the thumb if you hold the d-pad the way it's supposed to. However they're pretty good for when you don't want to do diagonals by mistake, but still want to do them.

However I'll tell you this: Different dualshocks can be more or less comfortable. Even if the shape is the same, the rubber pads and such are not. A PSOne controller I have has a d-pad that's a bit too clicky for my taste, where it hurts quite a bit. A DS3 I have has a mushier one that feels quite better, even if it's the same shape. I don't have to apply as much force. People misunderstand d-pad shapes and they think it's the only thing contributing to fucked thumbs. It's like round d-pads, not all of them are the same. Some of them are awful, some of them are the best available.

Its good for scrolling menus as well.

Switch Pro, DS4 is also great

Xbone controller for Platformers and Racing
Fightstick for fighting games
Keyboard and Mouse for every thing else

>Dualshock 3 over Xbox 360 controller
>Xbone controller not higher than Dualshock 4
How does it feel to have baby hands

I wonder who could be behind this image

Dualshock 3 is basically perfect.
The analog sticks and the triggers and the dpad on the DS4 are fucked up and the touch pad is retarded and pointless. The middle of it with the USB plug and the light is way too large and there's no real comfortable position to rest your fingers off-button.

best: X360 (minus that dpad)
worst: DS3 (dat shitty analog)

DualShock 2.

>L
>R
>R1
>R2

THEN WHO WAS L1?

This

xbone
the dreamcast controller I think has a cool design with it's shape and double expansion slots but almost everything else about it is crap (not enough inputs, cord at the bottom, shitty stick and dpad, no built in rumble, etc...)

>How does it feel to have baby hands

Better than having sausage fingers mr. amerifat.
