It is your opponent's job to deal with whatever you throw at them. The W is all that matters. However, if you use one move as a crutch, and get blown the fuck out if your opponent has an answer to that one move, you're a joke.

Why would someone upload a match this bad?

No, just means you're better.

You don't "get gud", you'll suck if you haven't born to play fighting games. I know it sucks, but it's the truth.

Wow that Cody was embarrassing
>well this guy literally throws out Shoryukens nonstop, should I punish them?
>HURR TIME TO WHIFF SPECIALS WHILE HE’S ON THE GROUND WITH METER DURPDURP

This is OP's video. He really sucks at games

Oh man, that's really embarrassing. Let us partake in some schadenfreude.

>How do I get gud in fightings?
I've been looking at an excuse to post this. Don't turn off your brain when fighting.

I love me some strudelfrauds.

Gitting gud at fighting games is a mindset, not an actual skill requirement. You have to approach everything strategically. Execution shouldn't be the main difficulty, like Tekken and DOA does wrong.

I can't speak for DOA, but most characters have pretty easily moves to input, just a button or two and a direction. Some characters, like Katarina, have pretty easy combos as well.
I'll agree movement can be pretty tough though.

me on the bottom

>What is the best game to start?
The game you're willing to put many, many hours in, so preferably one you think is fun even if you lose. What game that is happens to be up to you and your taste so just try some.

hehe imagine your trachea being flattened by her mighty crotch muscles

Does anyone have recommendations for a good 2D fighter to get with a fairly active community on PC? I mainly play Tekken 7, and did buy UNIST because my friends said they would play it, only to have them drop it within a week.

KI

I kind of want to make a fighting game. I have an artist that can make 2d characters. The problem is that I am not a pro at fighting games. How good at playing fighting games do you have to be to make a good one?

Skullgirls

unist got gquite a boost of players after that evo announcement

I wouldn't even bother. Fighting game players can always tell when someone who doesn't know shit makes a fighter. You could fool casuals with interesting art direction, but that's about it.

Holy fuck. This pic is accurate.

You just need to know what makes a fighting game good, and that has been discussed to death in youtube videos and gamedev blogs alike.
Short excerpt of what i know that makes an FG good
>A wide cast of diverse(gameplay-wise) characters
>Balance between versatility and raw power, with different characters being good at different things
>Mechanics that allow comebacks but don't turn the match on it's head singlehandedly, and also can be used offensively instead of defensively
>Balance of Risks vs Rewards when it comes to any and every thing.

Addendum: there is plenty more shit that makes a fighting game good, and not everything can be applied everywhere. Exercise caution and when in doubt ask all the pros.

Play UNIst with Yea Forums and get your shit stomped. No promises you'll get good though, I still haven't.

>tfw on toaster that can't play UNIST without lag

He said active community user. The games great, but it's dead jim.

Thank you I am going to take a deeper look into this stuff.

Frame-autism helps some people but is largely pointless for most, learning all of it requires an extreme amount of effort for very minor gains, and as long as you understand move properties you don't need to actually delve into what the fuck the frame data actually is.

>Is it bad if you won with spamming one move?
It's more like "it's your opponent fault you won spamming one move".
There's nothing wrong with spamming a single move if it works, the problem for you here is that you aren't improving by doing that.
Taking something like Street Fighter, for example, your winrate might temporarily go down if you stop spamming DPs, but you'll learn the game much faster this way.

I was referring to the Tails gets trolled pic but you aren't wrong.

Just play it on ps3

>Juri and having your pride broken
She's clearly enjoying it. She's also much stronger canonically so that's obviously a play.

>Mom said you have to share!
The video

large cast is a meme and so are comeback mechanics, you don't need either of them, further, there is absolutely no consensus on what constitutes a good character, people will argue endlessly on the right roster size and what makes a character "feel good"

Start with Super Turbo, then Street Fighter 4, then go to 3S, then KoF 2002, then Darkstalkers, then Guilty Gear X2, then Guilty Gear Xrd, then SVC Chaos, then Marvel 2, and lastly Tekken 7. You'll understand fighting games.

im sadly not good at fighting games
but i love the porn

>She's clearly enjoying it.
She's enjoying the humiliation aspect.
>She's also much stronger canonically
Makes it even more embarrassing.

I know everyone memes it but honestly SFV
it's perfectly fine and very active, the only problem i'd say it has right now is it hasn't gotten new content since kage

Frame autism is absolutely needed in high level play in a lot of games.

Nah, Juri's an S.

Top kek

Chun Li made her into one in that moment.

Nah, not really.

user my dick requires better arguments.

Now ya see when you start bringing canon shit into lewd art then you are completely wrong. For example OP's pic of Juri is clearly out of character since Juri isn't a masochist, but quiet the opposite which makes it more hotter than it is.

Your dick is weak.
You don't seem to comprehend the greatness Juri is.
Chun Li was tricked (or maybe even forced!) into sitting and attempting to strangle Juri. Imagine the humiliation normally straight-faced Chun Li had to go through while Juri is obviously being high on pleasure.
Chun Li knows, Juri can break free at any time. But she does not, and that's a message. A message, someone with a "school girl crush" won't be able to ignore for much longer.

Actually Juri domming Chun Li is hotter but I was just lewdposting along the lines of the OP pic.

The original super meter in SF2 is a mechanic that promotes comebacks through giving you more fuel for the fighting machine if you get hit a lot.
Combo damage penalty is a comeback mechanic in a way that it makes it difficult and not always worth it to go for extra long combos, allowing your opponent to have more tries at the neutral game.
X factor is not the only comeback mechanic type that exists.

>Juri isn't a masochist, but quiet the opposite
She is sadistic when fighting, but it could be a case of dominant IRL - submissive in the sheets.
