I'll never agree with anyone saying Chrono Trigger is the best game. It wouldn't be my last pick, it doesn't have so much going for it.
It's an allround boring game, it plays slow, it has a archaic old style story that outstays its welcome, and yet has many easy to guess twists and turns along the way, the soundtrack is okay, and all the characters are unlikable (except Marle).
Chrono Trigger, doesn't really revolutionize anything. It's just a refinement of the JRPG formula that is so excellent that its equal hasn't been seen before or since.
