there's four steps to a signal switch; low, rising edge, high, and falling edge. If you activate the rising edge during the previous level, and then hold the high signal into the next
(ending with a falling edge), then each level only effectivenesscontains half the cycle of a full button press, meaning that with regards to the frame of a single level, only half the A press is relevant
