Yeah, Epic Games themselves. They showed off their total number of registered users and amount of downloaded copies for Subnautica and Slime Rancher.

They have also literally said, that they don't have to win over customers, but instead publishers. So they just throw money at publishers and charge it from customers who they think will follow because they have to. That is a clear message, that they don't even want to improve the service for customers.

They don't even need to push timed exclusivity and piss off their current fanbase, just sell games at 18% or even 10% lower than the steam version and let people will bite, and when you already got enough fanbase pull the plug and release full price on epic exclusively.

I legit have the launcher still installed from the time I played UT4 alpha. I also have battle.net, Uplay, Origin, Steam and Discord installed. I hate having to coordinate or splitting myself between an increasing number of launchers. The "it's j-j-just one more launcher dude!" would have applied 10 years ago maybe. My biggest beef though is that I hated the way Epic did things for over a decade now, and EGS is like an all-in-one package to add to the pile. I also don't care about feeding publishers more money, the exact same people who try to fleece me with 70 bucks price tags, annual season passes, MTX and premium paid for services. I'm supposed to care about them getting even more money while they continue the same shit? Fuck no.

What triggers me about this is how Epic brags about their cut being lower but no developer has said shit about lowering prices for their games, seeing as they can save up to 20% compared to steam. If they lowered prices on triple A games, people would love them for it, but nah, its better to pay less for distribution, even if your playerbase is on another platform and has no interest in changing for a worse option.

I say "censored", because the reviews themselves are still all perfectly available, it's just that they don't count towards the review score, in which case the review score will be marked with a *, so people know that certain reviews have been omitted.
