The gifts are part of it, I like the idea of being extremely prepared if Royal comes as a DLC option that lets you keep your save files, but I've been entertained by doing challenges for myself.
I've beaten the game on every difficulty, including the Twins, I beat the Twins so badly that they've skipped healing phases, all my runs past my second were Full Confidant, I've assembled a team of min/maxed Persona with perfect skills, and now I'm working on boosting up and perfectly engineering the ones I like for my potential next run.
At this point I feel like the thing that drives me to my next run will be trying to hit 1000 hours before Royal.

After the TTK april update there wasn't much to do on top of that a good friend i had made in TTK moved to PS4 and I was busy with shit in 2016/17 so I didn't have the energy and burnt myself out from playing so much. I also built a PC and stopped playing on consoles all together anyway. I wish I came back for that event where they made Crota, Vault of Glass and King's End the new current light levels before Destiny 2 launched

Sounds similar to my experience, I took a break after the April update too because there wasn't much to do, but came back for Rise of Iron.
Age of Triumph was fun, I think you can still do the old raids.
I considered switching over to PC for the sequel, but held back since I knew how fast PC populations tended to die with new games; low and behold that's exactly what happened and the people I play with consistently are the same guys I met on ps4.

If you have a damage buff from empowering rift or the likes you can one shot body kill other guardians. Might pick that up if i can get some motivation to play during this event.

I did like the larger maps but they need to be more and in their own play list or have their own game mode. I just want more maps in general. I'm having a hard time remembering just the few maps that i actually like from D2 meanwhile, there were so many good maps in D1.

rimworld was in early access for a while before it fully released in oct 2018

pretty much been my general experience at some point or another. I can tolerate it some, but it just got to the point where it was either sex, cute/sad moments at the shelter, or complaining about avoidable drama she kept fueling.
