It really seems to me that the zoomer vs millennial (30 year old boomer) conflict is the one struggle that this website cannot survive. Just want to say that as a human you're going to naturally be nostalgic for things that brought good.memories when you are younger and time goes by I will eventually get replaced in mainstream media and I have to accept it.

I personally had a good childhood in terms of video games I have been blessed to have acquired gaming experience from the original Gameboy up until now. I got to see video games go from 2D to 3D in full evolution.

I think the one divide that I feel it's conflicting between me and the younger generation is the way that they truly entirely depend on social media and the interner to communicate and aren't used to being by themselves and doing things by themselves.

Children’s media have always been designed to sell toys and merchandise. The 1990s is where is this most evident with the extreme push of “radical” boys media, and “PINK PINK PINK” girls towards. The radical boys trend leaked into the early 2000s with EXTREME reboots of classic franchises like TMNT, He Man, Godzilla, King Kong, and even Toruk. That was the thinking of corporate execs, that boy shows are for boys and girl shows are for girls, there will be no intermingling. That was why Teen Titans was cancelled originally. Shows were of higher quality but grossly suffered in content, often being formulated, there was no room for improvements or deviations.
What changed the ideas for how a children show should be were because of mobile devices, video games, and the internet. Why spend 30 on a toy when you can spend 60 on a game and keep them occupied longer, PCs were becoming cheaper and games more accessible. I would also blame the 2008 recession but I need to further expand on this in a paper and not a post. I would also say that growing up in the 80s-90s-early 2000s toy culture is why you have bug people with hundreds of collections of toys or other products, zoomers won’t have problems or people like that haven’t grown up in that culture.

I still remember when I was browsing here back when I was underage and thinking to myself that everyone was being really harsh on underage users, they were not all bad and I said to myself that when I'm finally 18 and allowed to post here, I won't feel disgusted by the underage.

But these days, it's hard to not find something they do to be annoying. Even the ones who just became 18, they find ways to say or do things that are really annoying. Fair enough, they could be shitposting and I shouldn't give a shit about opinions of people online, but when they dominate threads with their shit opinions or start trying to say that a game everyone universally called shit at the time was actually the best in the series. Perhaps I'm just getting too attached to this place and the users I liked talking to when I was underage. It's an odd feeling. I was born in '97 and my family was poor so in the mid 00s I had a lot of hand me down things like a Game Boy Color and an N64. I also didn't have cable, so it's not like I could talk to other students about television shows of our youth (and they do this a lot) because I didn't watch TV. I can't have nostalgia for any of this, hell, Black Ops 2 came out when I was like 14 or 15 or so. Still pretty early, but it's not nostalgic for me.
