Xenoblade X is coming to the Switch this fall. As far as upgrades go:
>1080p docked, with reduced pop in and improved draw distance over the original
>720p handheld, runs and looks very similar to the original version
>improved UI, larger text, less crowded overall
>in game manual is more detailed and easier to browse through
>Skell combat has an extra layer of complexity added onto it, inspired by Xenoblade 2's combat system. Skell combat is now a hybrid of the two combat systems, with many complicated systems. The quest to get your skell license is now a very long and focused tutorial/series of tests for these systems.
>music/sound has been remixed- not as in there are remixed soundtracks, but as in voices are audible during cutscenes, music timing and choice has been altered to fit story sequences better.
>the biggest change: the dialogue choices are now done mass effect style, with more options and voiced dialogue. There are more times in cutscenes and story missions where your MC can talk, giving him or her more character. The lines and choices are now completely different based on your voice actor picked in character creation. Soul Voices can be unlocked based on your dialogue choices.
>changing your character's appearance/body/gender starts a quest that alludes to trans rights
>several new heart to hearts added
>you can now party up and explore the world with other players outside of Affinity and Story Missions. You cannot start an Affinity or Story Mission while partied up with another player.
