true men use the axe
>Why, yes, I did drop him meters before he could enter melee range. Wanna fight about it?
Based and dexpilled.
Two-hand axe. It's so great that it's still used today. If it can break through doors, walls and windows, it can break through your puny shield and armor.
BASED axebro, tell them
>*casts fireball @ u*
the pen
Obviously, it'd have to be an Eight foot tall bladed Chakram that turns into an immense demon mouth, a fuck-huge gun and a shield three times the size of the little girl wielding it. Oh, and if anyone else tries to use it it'd eat them.
Its a Chain Saw.
dual wield short swords

QUICK, WHAT GAMES HAVE MOST FUN SWORD & SHIELD COMBAT?
lel
Eeeeh, that only works well in tight formations, but by yourself it's not that great.
While blocking is neat and all, dodging or parrying will always be cooler than blocking with a gayass shield.
Mount and blade
Based.

Pollaxe, literally made to deal with armored opponents while still being effective against unarmored/lightly armored opponents

It's designed for parrying and deflecting according to the artist.
Based and maced.
Rather based and badasspilled
Truly a patrician choice
It's shit and what's with the trash proportions
Look for "Swordbreaker Daggers", it's supposed to catch blades and pull them away
based, came here to say shield 'n shield
Only against thin swords, like rapiers.
It's a type of renaissance parryng dagger called sword breaker, the seration is used to catch other blades a trap them. Despite it's name is doubtful that you can actually use it to break swords.
assassin is the only good class
>not a tank
Besides m&b and total war, i cant think of any other games that i've played that features couched lances.

Honorable mention:
Club
>favorite weapon is pollaxe
>calls it a "pole" axe
>he doesn't call it a /pol/axe
cringe and bluepilled
I was referring more to the act of couching a lance rather than the ones made specialized for this purpose. In DS, you are limited to using then on foot which is kind of stupid.
>Lance.
>Falchion.
>katzbalger.
.
Somehow I feel nostalgic for Crossed comics. Never thought I'd see the day.
>Have one of the largest cities on earth with hyper complex water management systems and gorgous, classical style architecture
>still use wood and stone weapons
why?
They simply never discovered steel or iron.
Because it's still really easy to chop a guy in half with rocks and sticks.
Cos it worked.
hindsight is 20/20
Fucking hell it's the mezoamericano user again
My bet is on the climate and lack of beasts of burden.
Even the conquistadors, who were well antiquated with the benefits of metal armor, largerly gave up theirs in favor of native Mesoamerican armor, mostly Ichcahuipilli (basically gambeson, though soaked in briney water then dried), due to the heat and humiditiy. It stands to reason that if that's the case, then the development of native metal armor would be disuaded, and without metal armor you need to pierce, there's not much point in developing metal weapons (even if they could: Bronze alloys were smelted in the region for things like bells, ornomanets, tweezers, fishhooks, etc), since Obsidian is already way sharper then any bronze or copper edge could be, and the lesser durability isn't as much an issue without metal to shatter against (obsidian edges on mesoamerican weapons isn't as fragile as is often thought, anyways)
Secondly, the logistical concerns the lack of beasts of burdens caused: This already had a few impacts: directly governed empires were a lot rarer due to the difficulty in traveling long distances and projecting force, so more hands off vassal, tributary, etc systems were used; as well as that armies, without calvary, tended to rely on greater numbers (though formations and complex tactics were still used, it wasn't just massive brawls) for victory, which also meant that warfare needed to be seasonal, so people could be back in time to tend to farms; and by extension, that sieges weren't a thing, since campaigns were only during the winter and that porters, unlike mules, couldn't graze and needed to restock.
It makes sense that another impact is that due to carrying supplies needing to all be done by hand, and traveling to allied cities to resupply more difficulty, that easier to repair and replace wood/stone weapons were valued over metal ones.
If that was me wouldn't I be answering the question not asking it?
plenty of call of duty games
how is the gauntlet game on steam?
Huge swords to UNGA people with.
Haven't played it, though I hear it's fun.
