Been a while since we've had ourselves a fucking XC2 thread. What don't you get?
Driver combos are when you Break, Topple, Launch and then Smash the enemies.
Blade Combos are when you use your Blade's specials following a tree that appears on the top right of the screen; the third special, which would be a Level 3 or 4 one, triggers a special animation.
A fusion combo is when you perform a driver combo in the middle of a Blade combo.
All other tutorials are just flavor text detailing stuff Rex can now do thanks to story-related reasons.

this game has the worst fucking dub of all time. what an embarrassment

To ba fair this game falls on it's face explaining combat. It took me till mid game to fully understand this game. I still haven't finished it heck

Attached: IMG_20190212_225940.jpg (988x748, 51K)

I'm convinced only complete autists like myself can understand the combat entirely

It really isn't that hard to get. I don't have autism and I get it.
You kinda get used to it, but I do agree that it is certainly not for everyone. The problem that most of the main cast faces is that they can't emote properly. But speaking in a neutral fashion doesn't make them sound bad. And there are certainly some characters, like Malos and someone you meet until the end of the game, with very, very good voice acting. \
Did you drop it fucking around with the sidequests? I honestly had to keep playing every time I finished a Chapter, those moments where the Chapter finishes on a cliff hanger or an incredible climax swayed me too much.

>Being a brainlet
Honestly, just ask if you have a problem, there's no shame in it.
I understand it pretty well, I played this game for 500 hours, I think I have autism

I like Nia being Welsh ithink stead of generic catgirl desu

I'm a brainlet so the tutorials didn't help me much either, but everything suddenly clicked in my head about 50-60 hours in and I realised how everything worked.

I got annoyed by playing Tiger Tiger

I'd like Nia being Welsh if her VA wasn't fucking trash.

There's a tutorial in the hallway before the final boss.

you werent playing RPGs in the 90s if this is the worst dub you have ever come across

minge

No u

jp nia sounds like a fookin parakeet

Not for brainlets. Don't blame you.

The combat isn't that complicated. It's tricky to explain, but once you get it it's very simple.

That's what catgirls sound like

At least SHE can act.

With as few spoilers as possible is the DLC worth playing aside from a mechanical stand point? Since what i heard was that the combat was supposedly retooled for the better. So aside from that is the torna dlc worthwhile or naw?

I LIKE YOUR ATTITUDE

I LIKE YOUR ATTITUDE

this game was fucking gaaaaaaarbage

not gormotti though

FYI, FFX/X-2 Remaster is out for Switch now, so I guess Xenoblade 2 got a competition for the worst dub.

>18 years later
>autists on the internet still cant comprehend this scene

>Game doesn't even let you fully experience combat until like the end of the third chapter, which can be upwards of 40 hours of gameplay if you're exploring and doing sidequests
>Combat finally starts to feel fun because you're making really big numbers against bosses and unique enemies
>But then you fully realize how boring and pointless and slow normal battles are with all the sheathing, unsheathing, and MASH B cutscene attacks
>And then you realize combat is largely building meter so you can do a series of cutscenes so that you can do a longer cutscene that does a ton of a damage
>And that for some reason combat actually has positional elements despite the fact that you can't make your AI teammates move anywhere, so you get moments where they just fall off a ledge and die or stand in some environmental hazard and die
>And you've had to sit through some of the most retarded story bullshit ever--I'm-Totally-Going-To-Die-Two-Days-After-Meeting-You mentor character bequeaths command of his mercenary forces to a literal child after he dies for no reason because the child doesn't even run when he's sacrificing himself and a shitty tsundere shows up and one-shots the boss anyway (before complaining about having to do anything for a while) and then the party chases down random child bandits, busts up a bandit ring, and then stops a character's dad from making an army of loli robots--for 40 hours to get here

I'm still convinced that people who think XC2 is an actual good game just have massive sunk cost fallacy and that it must be good because they put a lot of time into it.

I think so. I thought it had a bit too much filler (even ignoring the mandatory sidequests), and the way the Aegis War was portrayed didn't really live up to my expectations from the flashbacks in the main game, but I still enjoyed it a lot.

I don't know about the worst ever, but it's certainly the worst in recent memory. I'm not weeb enough to give a shit about using Jap voices in my games over dubs, but this is one of the first cases where I actually fucking switched it.

Yes, user. I am talking about that scene alone. Not Wakka, Yuna and Lulu who sound like they have a gun pointed at their head.

Why do japs have no idea how to make a tidy, aesthetic UI?

Naw really just the fact they decided to do fuck all about the lip syncing is what i assume gives many that idea for starters. Since even if one consciously does not notice it subconsciously the mouth movements not being anywhere close to the what is spoken in any other language than nip is jarring as all fuck. Since hell even at times the mouths are closed when the characters are supposed to be speaking and shit.

That AND the fucking english track sound mixing was hella ass at time being so damn over powered by the music being played if all settings were left on default.

the game gives you the option to have as much or as little information displayed on screen. That screen shot is an example of having ,at least i thinks so as far as i can remember, pretty much all and as much info being displayed as possible.

>tfw the only time where tara strong, a universally hated voice actress, didn't sound terrible was the one game where literally every other voice actor was fucking trash

Attached: 1555815257325.png (300x300, 12K)

I literally got the combat down in 10 mins. And then everything dies in fucking 5 secs. BoC should have been packed in the base game so battles last longer.

I asked in many threads if the game gives me the option to turn off all that gaudy nonsense and everyone resoundingly told me no. It's only when I don't ask but simply complain that someone says, "yes, you can disable it". So now I don't believe anyone.

OP you're getting low on semen

i love edits like this. wheres the super mario doom dark souls edit?

that's bullshit. you can turn off the blade names and art descriptions but that's it. can't make elements smaller, can't turn off useless shit like the cloud sea level/time/giant blade switch prompt in the non battle UI
most of the UI in fights is fairly necessary, but it's all ugly as hell. hopefully next game they'll hire more UI designers so they don't lose half of them in the middle of development again and end up with another mess like the one we got in this game

>come up with a bunch of different weather/climate conditions for each titan
>only thing it does is change the particles and sometimes spawn new creatures
The aurora in Tantal spawning all the deep sea monsters was the most dramatic effect I'd seen weather apply in the game.

>tara strong, a universally hated voice actress
In what dimension

>Heard for years that FF X's Japanse VAs are better
>Was playing through all of the mainline games in Nip anyway last year, so I played X in Nip as well
>Tidus and Yuna are better. Yuna's a lot better
>Auron sounds like some middle-aged Japanese man trying to sound tough all the time
>The other main characters didn't have that huge a gap between their English and Japanese VAs. Nip ones were probably a bit better, at leas for Lulu, but it really wasn't that big.
>Other VAs ranged from terrible to okay

Turns out, the Japanese VA was a mixed bag much like the English dub, just maybe a slightly better mixed bag.

It took me years to realize that people thought the performance was just bad here. I didn't know people were dumb enough to not understand it was intentional. I mean, even the other characters look at Tidus and Yuna like they were insane.

in every non mlp place she appears

>the skype call

Attached: 1547546653116.jpg (251x242, 13K)

Oh yeah, I will add that I did like Seymore's Nip VA more. English one always bugged me for some reason.

Oh yeah I totally remember the pure hatred people had for her voicing Raven

This, it's pretty easy to understand but the game is just awful at explaining it.

the xenotrash combat system is just bloated garbage that uses the illusion of depth to distract people from how the games are shovelware.

Nigga that aint Chaos Wars, the undoubtedly absolute worst dub of all time.
youtube.com/watch?v=bangt7d9vGA

No, it butchers everything involving the Aegis War. Your personal headcanon/fanfiction for that time period is guaranteed to be better than the DLC.

Her Harley Quinn is shit

To be fair, that was a case of mandatory english voice acting. Nobody wanted to do it, but they had a contract so they just quickly pulled some people together.

Fore me it's Vale.

How is that an excuse for them doing a shit job?

It's not an excuse, it's an explanation.

That jiggle

>Game doesn't even let you fully experience combat until like the end of the third chapter, which can be upwards of 40 hours of gameplay if you're exploring and doing sidequests
What really? I'm in the middle of Ch 3 after 15 hours and doing all side quests.

>”the gameplay gets good at the end of chapter 3!”
>”the story gets good at Chapter 8!”
>beat whole game, think the gameplay is overrated (a tiny bit of execution on top of a repetitive QTE fest) and wasn’t floored by the “twists” at all
It’s some shit alright.

I should also add that roughly 80% of Torna's story (retcons and inconsistencies included) is reused from XB2's flashbacks. The remaining 20% is filler that adds nothing to the characters or Alrest itself. Takahashi lost all the goodwill I gave him after X and 2 with this turd.

Attached: 1548990261092.jpg (1280x718, 94K)

>I should also add that roughly 80% of Torna's story (retcons and inconsistencies included) is reused from XB2's flashbacks.
That's quite an overstatement. There are what, like 5 scenes that were flashbacks in XB2 that show up in Torna? That's not '80% of the story'.

I didn't get the hate until I watched the video of Darkseid's lines with other characters in Injustice 2 and harley showed up.
Just awful

For me it's the evil boat sinking witch.

That skank cracks me up

based and KICK SOME A-pilled

Nice tiddies

>I mocked the FF X laugh scene again guya am I cool yet? XDDD

cringe and bluepilled
