for honour
I literally can't.
JK2 is perfect.
does academy have the same system?
Dark Souls
movie battles II
no
I wanted to post this.
it's shit after you learn the basics
This, but buff Lawbringer and add throw distance stat back into the game.
Demon's Souls
Imagine just doing your job and some maniac comes out of nowhere swinging a laser sword at you for no reason
For a multiplayer experience, yes. But for a single player experience, JK2 and JKA's original freedom of movement and swinging is superior.
Sekiro
>lawbringer fags
you never stop crying
>block
>block
>parry
so good
its too slow and predictable
play absolver instead
Sounds like a daily occurance at a fluorescent tube company
Sorry mate but this looks like shit, what makes it good in your opinion?
Lawbringer is getting a buff though, and Absolver is dead.
combat is more fluid, less staring going on, no shit characters, since you make your own
feints work, any missed ability use is punishable
good ridance, maybe it will shut you up, every day since launch
"bah bah my lawbringer, if i loose its not my fault, what do you expect me to attack or parry? no ill just use shove on block"
the most obnoxious bunch
Even better just go force repulse and shit on gunners AND jedi
whats different?
>combat is more fluid, less staring going on, no shit characters, since you make your own feints work, any missed ability use is punishable
I don't know what are you comparing it to, i'm not much into fighting games, playing them over interwebs suck masive dick.
But i like mindgames and the rage of oponent who is sitting next to you, when all you did was down + low kick them into the corner.
>demon is souls

bioware tier animations
Well my adventure with for honor ended when i experienced the fun of P2P, i did not enjoy playing with people who lagswiched or just went with over 500ms.
That was also the reason why Dark Souls PVP sucked.
Nice .webm
For Honor hasn't had P2P for over a year now.
It does. Academy is an asset flip sequel. It lets you use Darth Maul and dual wield sabers though.
Sekiro
I didn't care after a launch, first impression was so bad.
Are duels alive and how unlocks work?
ok thanks
JKA
I know, I know that Lightsabers were much much much more deadlier in Outcast and that was pretty fun
but it turned the MP into a shitfest where people were actually not really trying to combo good hits together, or trying to penetrate your defense etc, but were trying to weave around like ADD-Kiddies in the hopes of passively burning you to dust
and the following paragraph will be filled with buzzwords we all hate but I can't phrase it any better:
JKA improved the combat even though it casualized it because it streamlined it
your saber only deals damage when you're actively attacking the enemy.
You had to fucking click on your mousebuttons to kill the enemy, not swoosh it around like a toddler
You can still find duels occasionally.
>unlocks
All the main characters are unlocked from the start. DLC characters don't take long to unlock.
>game has a console command that makes the combat better
superb taste
If i didn't hate Ubisoft so much i would give it a go then but fuck them.
But it's good to hear they didn't leave that game in complete dumpster state.
spoken like a true zoomer
those animations look bad, but they are clear
they have to be because the combat system demands them to be, because you have to be able to read the attacks in order to react to them
those are good animations, because they fulfill their purpose(serving as a gateway for the gameplay)

reminder that Koei Temco wants the Star Wars license to make some Star Wars action games, and they own Team Ninja, arguably the best action action game developer out there, but EA is cockblocking the entire thing.
team ninja is nothing without oatmeal cookie
Mount and blade warband
M&B
Something akin to For Honor would be a logical next step but FH itself is too turtly
What game is this and how can I play it?
thank me later

Light saber duels are literally just spamfest flailing retard battles. It stinks.
Hold A or D + click = Horizontal attack.
Hold W or S + click = Vertical attack.
Combination of the two = Diagonal attack.
Blocking is automatic and just uses "force" meter.
So much this
After mab Id say movie battles and dark souls, but warband has until now the most deep and challenging close combat system so far
meant
>gamedata/base
this is how you get killed. Learn how your movement direction affects your swing you fucking retartd
Jedi Knight II and Jedi Academy. GOG or steam is fine.
Warband is literally just slow Jedi Knight
Oni
literally who
what does this do
I played jedi knight multi for a long time, you can not compare it at all with mab
4 attack and block directions, weapon lenght, weapon weight, movement, hold attacks, feinting, chamberattacks, weapon stuns, kicks, damage types (cut, pierce, blunt), you still find out new stuff even after years of playing
helpusobi1 enables cheats
seta g_sabermorerealistic 2 makes lightsaber do far more realistic amounts of damage, touch of death unless shielded more or less
seta g_dismemberment 3
seta g_dismemberprobabilities 100 these two should be obvious enough, jack up dismemberment probability so it's realistic and not a once in a while low chance
seta g_corpseRemovalTime 0 makes so corpses don't despawn
seta broadsword 1 enables ragdoll physics
seta r_mode -1
seta r_customheight "1440"
seta r_customwidth "2560" these three are for using custom resolutions not supported by default by the game, all 3 need to be used in tandem, you swap height and width to ones you want (for example 1080 height and 1920 width for 1080p)
One last command the other user forgot, cg_fov 110 if you're on 16:9 display
cg_fov 100 if you're on 16:10 display
cg_fov 90 if you're on 4:3 or 5:4 display
dismemberment
widescreen resolution
it dismembers enemies at the point of contact with the saber. Can cut off
>hands
>arms
>legs
>head
>cant cut waist in two
kino as fuck

Jedi Knight has 8 attack directions plus modifiers for crouching and jumping in each direction, along with combos and special attacks as well. There's also kicking and force powers. Jedi Academy has three saber types. Single saber has three attack modes (weapon weight) and dual + staff have two.
What warband has that can make it a deeper system is the damage types and physics, but IMO that's all matched if not negated by the objectively more in depth movement and attack control of Jedi Knight and that's without factoring in the speed of both control and death
>touch of death unless shielded more or less
NO NO NO NO
that would be sabermorerealistic "3." 2 just makes it do more damage. If it's set to 3 then pretty much every duel ends in a fluke. 2 makes it more skill based while still making saber more dangerous.
I also forgot the commands to increase FPS to 120
>You had to fucking click on your mousebuttons to kill the enemy, not swoosh it around like a toddler
But that's what JKA enables, the infamous "poke"/"spin" which is literally a bug in the game's code that isn't intended but Raven Software never got to patch it because they lost the rights to Star Wars license.
JKA was forked from the same 1.00 build of JK2 and has many of the same bugs as said unpatched JK2 1.00 version, including spin/poke being possible.
JK2 patched it in 1.02 and it remained patched until its final patch 1.04 and is not possible to do in JK2 to this day thanks to the patches.
JKA only had one 1.01 patch hastily released week after release for some biggest issues and to deliver the fucking MISSING chunk of MP maps (I believe it's 2 or 3 maps) because the game was rushed for release.
Also JK2 combat is far more technical and precision based, especially in multiplayer and thus far more skill based.
There's also many moves and combos that are not possible in JKA or just worthless in JKA.
Fuck you and fuck anyone that unironically defends the broken trash that is unmodded JKA lightsaber/combat mechanics, and JA+ Mod is basically same as unmodded since it doesn't change them other than minor tweaks and adding admin functions.
are you seriously complaining about faggots bugabusing broken mechanics?
A lot of games. JK had really unpolished combat systems with tons of moves that were redundant in the singleplayer. Multiplayer had amazing duels but only when you removed half of the other mechanics from the equation.
I actually agree. There are too many duels in JK in which you can just ram towards your opponent and they will eat your attacks even on high difficulties due to how volatile the collision detection of the attacks can be. Most enemies with guns rarely pose a threat so they're not a challenge unless they're in big numbers but then it's just a matter of using one of the strong force powers when they're not shooting at you; hell you can even just look at them and they will kill themselves with their own deflected shots
Ya'll motherfuckers are like little children, watch this
Jedi Academy is better.
Better and more diverse animations, better fighting styles execution and ofc new saber types- dual and double bladed.
Overall improved game in every way. Except Katarn wasn't main focus of campaign.
>due to how volatile the collision detection of the attacks can be
thats exactly what I meant
As already said, played a lot of jedi knight myself, the light 1 sword style crouch up-stab was one of my fav moves :)
I just talked about basics, dont forget that theres archers, crossbowsmen, different kinds of cavalry and shields too, which forces you to play tactical by creating shieldwalls or stopping horses with pikes
Fights can be really fast too if you play mods where you can put points into athletics, weapon master or dexerty. Fights dont look as flashy as in jedi knight (thats why people get bored easily by mab streams), but boy can they be intense. But i admit, fighting in jedi knight is lots of fun aswell
skyrim with mods
That doesn't. Most enemy encounters never force you to actually be competent at this or take advantage of your movement all that much.
Nioh was good, not as great as NG but it's a great action game that shows that they still have some competent devs.
>its too slow and predictable
Try to pick 3 different players using the same character, non of them will play the same way.
Jackie Chan Stuntmaster
The force unleashed
Is there even any mod that actually makes the combat decent?
Severance was pretty fun but the dwarf was complete ass due to no reach and that triggers me.
Faggots using the bugs is literally the only MP meta in JKA which makes it fucking unplayable unless you join the meta of also just spinning like an ADD toddler.
Movie Battles II is basically the only form of JKA multiplayer that is actually fucking playable.
Too true, he was the only one I couldn't be bothered finishing the game with. Also Amazon is ridiculously OP but has only one move, what's up with that
>2k+ hours in this shit heap
It's been fundamentally flawed since day one, the turtle meta has yet to be resolved. Everything is reactable.
>Faggots using the bugs is literally the only MP meta in JKA
wrong
I love that game
Guns were kinda ass tho
are you sure about that statement?
