its also got some nice quality of life changes in that you can click on a number and if there are that many flags marked around it, itll reveal all the squares instead of you have to click on them

That's available since the old ass win95 version or maybe even older. You have to L+R click the number with the right amount of flags marked.

Doesn't change anything, there's naval minesweeping gear as well

L+R also does that clicking animation on all surrounding tiles (but don't actually open them if there is not enough flags), so you can use it as a quick visual way to count the tiles, very useful for speed runs.

The block on the right isn't adjacent to an empty block. The auto-clearing only gets all numbers directly adjacent to the empty area you clicked on, it doesn't go past that.

Minesweeper is a type of military vessel. They don't use "minesweeper gear", they use an entire ship dedicated to sweeping mines. The numbers in the game are pings of the mines from their detection systems.

Minesweeping ISN'T disarming the mines. It's merely locating and FLAGGING the mines such that you can make safe passage through a minefield. That's why you FLAG the mines in Minesweeper, the game and die when you touch the mines.
