FUCK YOU

No one stopped them, what's your point OP?

>DmC
>different
>the casualized more mass market cinematic watered down version is different
lol

it shouldve been an entirely new IP

>tries something different
>it's almost intentionally shitty just to spite fans of a established series
ohh boohoo our game flopped why are gamers so mean waaaa

Doing something different isn't wrong.

Doing it badly, which is what DmC did, is wrong.

They tried
They failed
Deal with it

God forbid someone criticizes your flawed product

I liked DmC. Felt like a complete experience and Aquila and the hulk fists were great weapons.

QUE TE JORDAN

>They failed

THEY FAILED BY MAKING A BETTER GAME?

>tries something different
>literally the same forumla from every other western action game done shittier
KEK 80% of the game an it's missions, platforming to shit to make the game seem longer. One of the last missions is literally platforming and grappling shit out of the way. 10/10 gameplay.

I know you are baiting since there are no DmC fans on Yea Forums but the retards you find in IGN posts or youtube comments that parrot this opinion always miss the fact that this ''change'' wasn't needed. You only change things when they grow stale
GoW is a series that needed change. The old formula grew completely stale. There wasn't much more to do with the combat (cause the devs were westerners) and Krato's revenge, his entire reason of existence as a character, was already completed in GoW3. The series couldn't progress if it stayed the same at that point. The change to nuGoW was necessary cause everyone and even Sony knew that a new game that played exactly like GoW:Ascension would've tanked even harder.
DmC on the other hand was about as unnecessary as Bomberman Act Zero. The characters were fine and gameplay was fine. With still much more to explore with them. The series at that point still hadn't reached its peak yet.
DmC was completely unnecessary and unwanted. And the fact that it ended up being sub-par product has made it so that its legacy is only a ''oh yeah that happened'' and an example of how not to do reboots

>use the red whip to drag obstacle to you
>use the blue whip to move over to obstacle
The game

What? The combat was awesome, which is all that matters in DMC. It's everything else that was shit. Like DMC5 was any less retarded story wise. lmao

fuck off tameem

It was, it never once took itself to seriously. White DmC literally just had the plot AND the dialogue of tween drama on the CW channel ahahaha

>Tries something different
>Almost kills the franchise
>Shittyness infects the return

>tries something different
>flops
>had to go through numerous price drops just not even outsell DMC4
kek

>DMC3
>Serious story with a few quips.
>Characters arc and it has great build up, tension, and emotional moments.
>A perfect climax for an action game.

>DMC4/5
>Morihashi can't write for shit, what do we do!?
>Just bank entirely on tween angst and Dante being a lovable cringey retard, that way we don't even need to bother!
>Perfect!!

>DmC
>LOL HOW DO I EVEN WRITE A BADASS!?
>Anonymous is relevant right now right?!
>At least the character arced I guess.

How hard is it to make likable characters that aren't shitty memes in this series?

>Better game
