Because I either get half the FPS or the game just doesn't run. Windows has no problems after 5 minutes of configurations.
I will be, once W7 becomes 100% obsolete.
>better compatibility than W10
l-o-l
proton is pretty good
currently im checking all the distros, kubuntu and manjaro seems to be the best to go
Linux will never be a thing unless it gets Adobe support.
you don't need official support.
I do. I'm not going to fuck about with some crappy workaround program only for it to crash next version.
>what is VM
seriously now
Idiotic, I might as well run Windows.
you need official support if you plan to do real work.
the problem with linux is the shitty drivers supports, that's why adobe isn't bringing their product i think
W10 + WSL works better for me. I use linux on my work laptop though and the few games I've tried to play on it through proton have all worked really well.
I dont want to open a terminal
then don't
>no DMC 5
>no Sekiro
>no Anno 1800
>no RE2
>no Metro Exodus
>actually, almost nothing except for few indie games
You were saying?
All playable on Linux.
Majority literally trash to boot.
If you still trust Microsoft with anything at all, that simply means you weren't paying attention.
I have linux mint on my laptop but havent installed Photon. Its ok, its an old laptop i use just for school. 3.6 gig 800 ram, and 512 mb videocard. Runs CS: Source at max settings at a buttery 20fps.
Joking aside i wouldnt mind trying other retro/indie games on it
hardly anything works out of the box with linux, even ubuntu

I never got my tablet working with Linux. That's not gaming related, just a thing I remember with when I was using it.
Where can I find that wallpaper?
I use AMD parts because I am poor. GNU/Linux works with Intel and nVidia smoothly, but is shit with AMD.
>Install Ubuntu
>Install Nvidia driver version 390 (recommended version, as per Nvidia)
>Reboot
>Black screen
>Reboot again and go into recovery mode to remove all traces of the Nvidia driver and revert back to the shitty open source one
>Try installing version 415 instead; it's quite a bit newer so this must be a solved problem by now right?
>Reboot
>Same black screen as before
>Reboot back into recovery mode and remove the Nvidia driver
>Uninstall this trash OS
It's really true that open source is only free if your time is worthless. I'm a working adult and don't have the time or the autism to fuck around with this shit until I somehow manage to hack it into a working state. W10 is shit, but at least it actually works out of the box.
There are no Linux alternatives for the softwares I use for work, so I won't be switching to Linux soon.
Youre literally wrong lol how does it feel to regurgitate incorrect bullshit you just believed for some reason, embarrassing
>recommended version, as per Nvidia
I've stopped listening to their recommendations after they started fucking up even on windows side
that'll be one yike from me, bro
I dunno, first time I tried W10 it got stuck in a permanent update loop.
Denuvo stops them, unless you're willing to pirate DRM and Anti-cheat is the major reason Linux/proton doesn't work for most new titles.
nah you're wrong windows is perfect always has been always will be
the difference is windows users have eaten the same shit for decades so they downplay it and know how to google

At least on Windows the fucking graphics driver works
>OLD VERSION IS BETTER THAN NEW VERSION
>NVIDIA IS GIMPING OLDER CARDS
>ESOTERIC BUG ON MY MACHINE
yeah works, and yet it's all anecdotal.
nvidia works fine for me on linux, and you can't prove me wrong.
it's just nvidia drives in general, every time i install a new one i throw a dice and see what stops working now
>using loonix
>using windows 10
7 master race, i'll never switch
good goyim
NOMODESET
because linux users are still too far up their own asses to create a distro that people who don't want to troubleshoot every build want to use.
I don't want to ping a bunch of failed DBAs and SysAdmins who can't interact like humans to figure out why a distro shits itself after every update or install.
then pick slower updating distros? wow that was hard
Linux is alien to me. Conversely I'm too familiar with Windows to make the switch.
Just fuck around in a virtual machine with a couple, find out they're mostly all the same with a different skin and maybe some different underlying software, then stick to Windows.
What's your setup, hardware-wise? I would still like to figure this shit out eventually, but don't know where to begin.
Funny, my experience is the opposite. Nvidia is a shitshow and some older laptops with intel have required tweaking, while AMD works out of the box.
Unless you have an AMD card.
How is POPos? Im considering dual booting it.
Literally just Ubuntu with a better driver update policy. The key feature is there's an optional installer with the Nvidia proprietary driver bundled.
>Cortana will never give you a blowjob
