If you can refund it, do it. As a huge fan of the first game, my disappointment with 2 is immeasurable. They killed the characterization of the returning cast, most importantly Alex, and make you play as an idiot that walks face first into every obvious trap set for him. Blackwatch are turned into actual sadistic Nazis as opposed to an organization that would do anything to contain the virus. The devs fucking with the movement disappointed me as well. I think they changed the bindings for dashing? And it fucked with how it interacted with jumping. They added a couple neat abilities but in all the game was a complete let down.
It was made by the same studio in name only; every member of the team had been replaced by someone else.

The gameplay was a direct upgrade unless you LOVED the fun-yet-useless human form attacks. Having two powers at the same time dramatically expanded what you were capable of in a very engaging way.

Series could still be salvaged though, the nuke caused Mercer to fracture creating multiple, third game would you being the original mercers having to reabsorb all his dopplegangers and the one that Heller absorbed aswell.
