There's not a shred of difficulty in GD. I played this shit years ago and breezed through the game with a hardcore character using a retaliation build I myself made up and I could literally sit in front of bosses, open up my browser and start replying to people on Yea Forums with the game running in the background knowing I'd be completely safe.
The expansions are garbage. First one gave us what? 2 trash character classes (ooo a fucking NECROMANCER, not like thats been done a million times already) and some new zone which was hotfix nerfed the day it was released because the Grim Dawn community is filled with the most pathetic casuals ever to exist. Literal sweeping nerfs to all of the enemies because 5 minutes in people got caught off guard and died and rather than adapting and figuring out that you need to be more careful they went straight to the forums and cried to the mods to nerf shit and THEN THEY FUCKING DID LMAO. So now the content from this update is concidered an absolute joke and a walk in the park, aka it's irrelevant content.
Fastforward to now, we've got another expansion. What did it add? 1 new class, lmao and another shitty zone which wasn't even hard enough to nerf. In fact it was a fucking joke of a zone.

Dogshit piss easy difficulty. Going from normal to elite for example, there's no jump in difficulty. At all. Once you get a few elite tier armor and weapons the game goes back to being the E X A C T same difficulty level as normal mode. Ultimate has a small jump in difficulty that remains consistent but it's so fucking tiny that it's pathetic. They need to make elite be an actual jump in difficulty and then make ultimate actually be a fucking scary mode to be on because at this point it's just fucking embarrassing. Who is the target audience for this game? Toddlers? See literally this post, I've played numerous builds, some not to completion just because they were even easier than the ones I mentioned so I had to quit out of sheer boredom (like my summoner build which had my Chimera rip bosses apart in second while I'm just sitting back afk completely safe) Every build is OP. The only time I've had a kind of tough start is if I'm going some Nightblade heavy build.

Yes. Imagine being an adult and thinking that games without difficulty are good. You might as well just play mobile games at that point. Difficulty is stimulating and vital for all game genres. In an ARPG Normal mode is supposed to be your obligatory tutorial/setting up phase to get your build going. Elite is where the difficulty should ramp up so you actually need to begin paying some attention. Ultimate should be the mode that truly tests your build. Shitter builds should be filtered the fuck out because they don't belong here.
Grim Dawn misses the point entirely. Every mode feels like normal mode. There is a miniscule difference between ultimate and normal.
Inquisitor-oathkeeper. Build for fire damage and rush to get the fire aoe inquisitor skill and the two solar pets from oathkeepr with their flame aura. Add a dash of the oathkeeper beyblade skill to taste.

All good things which barely make the game worth playing, but they're a tiny percent of the gameplay experience as a whole. You play through the game 3 fucking times per character. The regular story mode shit needs massive buffs to actually be threatening. Playing through 99% of the game just to get to the final 1% which has decent challenge is not acceptable at all. The difficulty gap was reduced with AoM, which is arguably harder than Act 1 on the next difficulty, they also a added a lot of resists and such to old gear so it's not so brutal. But depending on your build and gear, you can really hit a wall on ultimate act 2, well not a wall since nothing can stop you from cheesing on softcore but it could be painful.

It's not so much "guns that can do cool shit" but how you can build something cool that is complemented by the right gun. That said, Witching Hour is a pretty cool rifle that makes some crazy pet builds, and Corruption of Garbagol can make some fun vit/Oathkeeper/something else I'm not thinking of work.
I'm wrecking shop with Sangvinar and Scarlet Marksman before that which are low/mid level guns currently on a bleed build. It's not the most powerful but it's still coming together which is the fun part if you design your own shit and don't just meme about competition and copy shit from forums you didn't even come up with in the first place. I have another build that destroys anything anyone that ever played GD can even imagine. It's fun to show up memer morons and people that squat the meta and influence the devs of a dumpster fire like PoE badly and those that think they have something figured out by running rings around them on overlooked mechanics, and with style. Like playing Dan in SF. Bleed has been discounted for a while but people don't understand it because the subtleties are too much for them. Zantai is a god of game design tbqh.

No one ever buys this shit when people run their mouths about it. The focus on trading is one of the worst parts of PoE, D2, etc. It ruined D3. Trading is like using a trainer, but less efficiently. You are using out of game methods, like money, or hex editing to acquire loot. Any "game" that focuses on such is garbage on the competitive level. If you want to relax with your friends and casual homosex trade dildos in your MP group that's different, but "I traded/cashed/hexed my way to game victory" is one of the dumbest cancers that ever infected vidya and you all know it.

It's shallow and the only design you can do is based on pick your end game set and grind for it.
It's almost more of a shmup than actual ARPG. I give it a few points on the action button level but it's fuckall boring for mechanics and the setting was disneyfied by the millennial dev team away from the grimdark of Diablo a long time ago. The writing sucks, a butterfly side role woman killed the most iconic and charismatic character in the series, likely because one of the tranny devs had a hate on for white men before such behavior was recognized as the cancer killing vidya. The dialogue sucks, gameplay and itemization shallow.
It's fun for people good with their thumbs and not their minds I suppose, which is why D4 is a cash shop mobile game now.

Pre-Reaper of Souls the loot was a complete mess from the RMAH being a big money maker and them shitting on droprates to push it. This and some really cancerous rare mob mods pretty much ruined launch D3. Class Balance in Inferno as well also pretty bad and the servers sucking at launch pretty much ended people's opinions of launch d3 on a sour note. There was some bandaid fixes for droprates after the RMAH died but I barely played so I can't really comment on those.
Post-RoS, the issue with Diablo 3 is boring end game progression and boring loot progression. The former is a result of the infinite scaling meme where you run rifts over and over that just numerically increase. For me, and I'm sure for some other players, having a specific goal to work towards is good. Current d3 has no big boss. Diablo is a pushover, everything is a pushover, the only real bosses are halfassed rift guardians that are just huge fucking damage sponges. On the gear side of things, D3 has item sets that basically dictate how youre going to build your character. These have things like 3000% multipliers for certain skills and other such nonsense where its nearly unthinkable to build anything else (LoN aside, but thats also just some obscene multiplier). A lot of classes also have stupidly centralizing skills that everything ends up revolving around like Necro Land of the Dead or DH vengeance. Basically horrible skill balance and retarded multipliers on sets and legendaries builds your character for you. Its gone the same route as WoW did, its basically a sightseeing game where all content is just there in your face. At least launch D3 shitters got filtered in the 2nd or 3rd difficulty so you actually felt like you were progressing in some manner. For reference, launch d3 had 4 difficulties. Current D3 has 16 and theyre adding more

I was giving an answer so some user on his first character who might just get destroyed the moment he steps into ultimate, clearing roguelike dungeons and killing nems on your first build isn't always an easy task. Killing superbosses and doing SR or Crucible requires some optimal as fuck builds which is another challenge entirely
