Crack when?

Is the campaign considered finished after you beat the shit out of the masketta men fleet?
I wanted to finish it for completion's sake but I can't be arsed rebuilding the whole other island

Wednesday at most

never started the campaign, why not just go sandbox mode?

Pirates are annoying and diplomancy sucks dick

Same as ever when it comes to Anno
Ye it converts into freeplay after that part.
I just started a new freeplay map after it finished, my cities were a complete fucking mess anyway

Attached: Anno1800_2019-04-21_11-41-14.jpg (1012x747, 308K)

I just realised that artisans and higher tiers of population don't actually need a market in the area. This opens up so many more efficient layouts i can make.

PS: just got this guy from a population quest on my island, anyone found similar items for higher tiers of pop?

Attached: screenshot_2019-04-21-12-42-29.jpg (1904x1041, 761K)

never played anno but bought this
how the fuck do i start? tutorial doesnt explain anything.

>"THIS IS FINE, IT SMELLS GERT LUSH"

start the campaign, when you fuck up and in a dead end you restart and learn from your mistake, rinse and repeat until you become the perfect german autist.

Build houses, then build shit that provide shit for the shitters that fill the houses, eventually upgrade the houses once they have enough so you can build new shit that provide the shit needed for the new shitters that now populate the upgraded houses.
Repeat.

Just play the campaign and look at the tips of your sister. Basic gameplay is build houses to get tax money and fill their needs so that they pay more, once you can't fill their needs with something from your island you have to consider expansion or diplomacy.

For maximum efficiency some anons always post a chart of number of buildings per item needed but I fon't have it saved here.

The UI tell you how long it take for one item to be produced anyway, it's a simple matter of remembering it.

just how complex is it?
I always feel out of depth with 1000 different resources and production chains.

What's the deal with trade routes and charter routes.
I have one trade routes set and it's working as intended
but i have set two charter routes and they do absolutely nothing i'm paying and there's no ships delivering goods anywhere.
should i be better of setting only regular trade routes?

>make a legit perfect game with Anno 1404
>never manage to surpass it

top löl.

Attached: blue_byte_logo.jpg (600x250, 18K)

New Anno is much easier than that. You can't fuck it up.

>buying jewbisoft games

Attached: 1318221791144.png (438x420, 152K)

>Play Advanced mode
>But with 3 stars Silva and Hunt as opponents
>Last choose Bente to not be overwhelmend in a sea of cunts
>Start game
>Everything went up
>Peace until artisans
>Silva and Hunt expanding as my same speed, Bente left behind
>Suddenly Hunt declares war on Silva
>Silva gets BTFO, loses main island and many others
>His only remaining islands are two incredibly tiny ones
>Fail a quest for Hunt cause fucking bugs, won't complete itself
>Hunt declares war on Bente, I get called in because I was allied
>It's world war
>mfw I have to stop developing cities to control the tsunami of shit known as Lady Margaret Hunt
>Bente and Silva aren't doing jack shit cause they ain't got shit
>Silva literally has 2 harbors and some farmers left

Fuck. My. Life. Time to to forget about development and focus on war. I'm going to wipe that cunt from the face of earth.

Attached: Anno 18002019-4-20-22-7-40.jpg (3840x2160, 2.26M)

Ive gotten a union worker for steel production that increases productivity 50% and decreases workers needed 100%, she was an epic drop from towns people

>Grids

You can build curved roads? last one i played was 1404

i dunno i dont even own the game yet, i was just being a cunt

cracked version out yet? might buy it later

>Pirates are annoying
use patrol routes and blockades you doofus

is that a fucking market and firestation right next to the water?
what a fucking retarded waste

Share your best items you've obtained,so far i had an item that had 40% less workforce and 25% less maintenance cost.

Attached: screenshot_2019-04-20-17-33-43.jpg (2560x1440, 1.4M)

This game has better graphics than tw3.

the ones that change recipes are best, like bakeries take grain instead of flour, or goulash requires pigs instead of cows

I also found a common tier item, but it gave 5% extra workforce 5+ extra income and 5+ happiness.

im not waiting for crack just havent got round to buying it yet

>Firestation costs 50gp a tick.

Poorfag, and i'm even playing on low income.

managing resources between islands is doing my head in a little bit... i never know how much to send or how many goods my population needs

test

I said its a waste (which it objectively is) not expensive.
Gonna admit you fucked up? Or is your small dick pride gonna get in the way

I stopped playing against hard AI because it just turned into a sluggish war, just wait untill Silva gets enough of your shit and declares war too then the fun ends.

Only thing i have to deal with now is my shares that are being bought constantly.

rule of thumb is to make as much shit as you can, its always better to have too much than too little
for farms that require fertilies that you cant just reproduce on local islands I usually do 12, 12 bakeries, 12 breweries, 12 schnapps, only 6 for canned food and 6-8 for resources in the new world

But muh income

in 1404 you could raise taxes with the slider when you click on a house, how do you do it in 1800?

I dont think there is a way to do it here.
You can make people work harder/less though.
50% up or down, gives them happiness or makes them mad

Nice alley, I will steal that idea.

oh i see. i found that. but thought i missed the tax slider. i guess production is the main focus not taxes

Fast starting layout, most of it will be gone mid/late game, the farmers are almost off the island already.

He wasn't the one who posted that screenshot. see

What's a good Anno to start with? Preferably one that looks nice for someone who is very shallow towards graphics. I wanna make comfy old world cities and towns.

How do you manage charter routes?
Like, if I want to move food from the island where it's produced to the one where my settlers are, how can I tell the amount I'll need based on the ship travel time and such?

1404 or 1800

might as well start with 1800. if your poor 1404 is the great.

normally i'd say 1404, but 1800 is just way better now.

1404 is the best

not anymore. a close second

>of the decade
not saying much desu

>that RPS "review"
What a fucking joke, he barely talks about the game at all but has room for muh slavery muh evil whitey.

This guy comes up to you in the video game store and slaps your favourite series' ass. What do you do?

Attached: nate-crowley1.jpg (1024x1198, 65K)

Crack where?

Not installing jewbisoft botnet to play this

not sure where people got this info from, but I swear up and down that its wrong. I get within about 150 population of the thresholds and I start seeing my supply declining

Attached: 1555790051956.png (1176x730, 106K)

The difficulties are weird.
On easy the AI actually manages to very quickly go to engineers and push out lots of money, but they are militarily very passive so you can eventually outdo them.
On expert the AI is very aggressive in terms of military and expansion. But due to low island fertility and everybody just claiming whatever the AI cant build up decent production chains and get beyond artisans.

After the initial bumrush of having everybody declare war on me the game became actually easier on expert.

Everyone told me this game was max comfy. But I get overwhelmed with everything I have to do, the way there's always new things to manage, and the worries about my Rivals getting stronger and stronger, taking over more and more Islands.

I could take over more myself, but it's hard enough just managing the ones I've got.

Also: Will the Pirates ever just fuck off? I just got to the New World and shortly after I arrived, those pirates declared war on me. FFS.

same goes for this, in the steel production chain for example, 1 iron mine+2 coal plants SHOULD be enough to support 2 furnaces. It isn't, my coal is declining faster than can support the furnaces.

Attached: 1555576744446.jpg (4116x2884, 859K)

AI in Anno games never give a shit about anything anyway, it's cheating like a motherfucker at higher difficulties, so basically they don't actually become more difficult to play against but more tedious.

1800 is the best now, and the campaign serves as a great tutorial.

comfy!

Attached: 1551388994074.jpg (1920x1080, 501K)

I'm at around 1800 population split between farmers and workers. According to this, 3 fisheries should be enough to support 2400. My fish is declining.

>start new map
>build nice looking little cities
>ends up looking ugly because im just constantly placing houses
>restart
fugg

don't build all of them at once
just layout the blueprints for them and upgrade as necessary

Attached: 1543961950576.jpg (1920x1080, 781K)

Any kino shots of any ships?

Also why do the civilians look like they're part of the audience in a football game

The game isnt comfy except if you are playing without AI. All the people spouting this are lying.
That being said there are several remedies:
- You can make a cease fire with the pirates.
It costs you money but honestly the New World nigger is so annyoing.
Just giving him his gibs is going to save you a lot of headache since you no longer need to manage pirates on two maps.
- You dont have to worry too much about the AI. They have a very strong start but later fall off.
All you really have to worry about is that your islands can provide all resources.
As long as you can cover all needs, you dont need more islands.

Attached: 1541239386820.jpg (1920x1080, 684K)

How's it compared to 1404?

Attached: 1551860263271.jpg (1920x1080, 879K)

These charts can never be 100% accurate because they dont factor in the delay due to transport.

Attached: 1551962105925.jpg (1920x1080, 877K)

it has to be more off than that, I'm at 1840 population and FOUR fisheries is still in declining production.

better, I still kind of miss land combat with handgunners and maybe some cavalry though...

What a chad

Nah Im glad the devs focused on the other stuff instead of adding awkward land combat.

how does it actually run? seen a lot of people complain about sudden FPS drops

it starts well but the further on you go the worse the game gets, I started at 60 fps and when I finished the campaign I was at 30 and I didn't even go past artisans. It's not really a problem since I don't really need to react as an in an action game but the audio gets scratchy with the stuttering and is quite annoying.

Yeah during end game there are FPS drops when you scroll over your main city.
But dont worry you are going to reset the game anyways before you get there haha.

Crack now?

>Pirates are annoying
just pay them

I used to play Anno on the NDS. I think I'm going to buy 1404 now. Sadly don't have enough money for 1800 right now.

Get it on GOG at least if you buy it.

>play anno 1800 all day yesterday
>took 2 hour break before bed
>try to sleep all night while my brain keeps running though the game
>Won't stop thinking about it, dream about setting up grids, buildings, ect.
>Not even sure I was able to sleep, feel very unrestful, brain was too active.
What do they call this, this happens to me whenever I play a addicting game, can't stop thinking about anno

Attached: I_cant_sleep.png (1930x1440, 1.23M)

>almost 20 years later and this kino is STILL unsurpassed
Pathetic.

Attached: le maitre de lolympe 24.jpg (1024x768, 294K)

>What do they call this
autism

It's called autism

The solution is to play more until you have "solved" it.

this happens to me too all the time

Why?

crack going up in an hour lads.

no DRM

You don't need a launcher to play the game, you can make an offline backup and share it with your friends, i.e. DRM free

>Lost the campaign because that old irish cunt, the pussy weakling and princess chink all declared war on me because I kept denying them to settle islands and ignoring them all game to focus on my own shit

Fuck YOU you worthless cunts.

literally me

>Jorgenson declares war on me
>I immediately demand a peace treaty
>She says yes
dumb broad

That was a shit test fren

OH shit thank you

>Conquer Margaret Hunt's main island
>Notice flotsam next to the harbour
>Takes half my fleet to pick up
>250 Steam engines
>250 heavy guns
>250 pocket watches
>do the math
>adds up to exactly 5 million in trade value
mfw

Attached: 1373498355965.jpg (467x475, 108K)

YO LIL MAGGIE

i wish diplomatic marriage was a thing in this game jorgensen is so fucking hot

Emperor was better. Zeus was too easy.

and the harbour was filled with legendary and epic zoo animals and museum artifacts. That's probably another couple million.

2070 is still my favourite desu

I wish you could marry your sister hot fucking damn is she hot.

>absolutely no niggers
Is Ubisoft, dare I say, /our publisher/ ?

1404 still holds up, though 1800 is definitely just as good.
Miracles still happen, didn't think these autistic germans still had it in them

Attached: fxpbgq5myls21.png (1256x1304, 1.74M)

>Turns a comfy Anno thread into /pol/-tier shitflinging

FUCK OFF FUCK OFF FUCK OFF LET US HAVE ONE VIDEO GAME THREAD IN PEACE

You seem upset. Why don't you take a break and pick some cotton ?

2070 was also good imo.

At least its Anno, that happened to me with Factorio.

so this is where I start to struggle in the game. I have a decently large city for where I'm at, around 2000 pop, haven't started meeting workers needs yet really, my main island still has a lot of room but I feel like I should use another island as a production island for most of this shit, like wheat and pigs. How the fuck do I do that though? I feel like to have enough workers on another island to be able to support all of those facilities I would need ANOTHER fairly large city

that's why my character, the governor, is black

Attached: 1547233817146.png (576x590, 365K)

what do you feel when seeing this pic?

weren't all of these games, including Pharao, just Cesar reskins?

Attached: 26-nazi-ap.jpg?w968h681.jpg (968x681, 115K)

Attached: 1554211031337.jpg (1920x1080, 124K)

Is there a way to move multiple buildings at once? Theres no reason to start the game with huge avenues but i want to add them in to my city eventually.

do you conquer by taking the shares or by destruction?

Which difficulty? On anything below expert you can just use the island you have to make anyways to get access to beer.
Even on tiny islands like expert its not too diffculty, just dont outsource too much on one island.
Decide which industry you want to move over (for example sausage and soap) and then stick to that.
Ship some goods like bread over there so you have full houses.

When is the first patch coming? I am stuck on a quest bug in the campaign

Attached: Anno 18002019-4-19-22-57-10.jpg (2560x1440, 550K)

destruction

Not that hard. When you're expanding to 2nd island :
- You only need 1st tier worker mostly, and fulfilling their need is easy as fuck ( fish and easy cloth ).
- Even if you need 2nd tier worker, you don't really need to fulfill all their 2nd tier need. Keeping them half happy is fine, your main citizen is in the 1st island, not 2nd.
- By the time you need 3rd tier worker in 2nd island, you should get the feel of the game already, and it won't be a problem anymore now.

proper campaign and scenarios when?

Based krauts.
SII and summer of 1999, best years of my lfie.
And kudos for Battle Isle series too.

Attached: 123435675786.jpg (800x1227, 111K)

Looks fun but I'm not paying $80CAD for the base game. So we are at the point where the publishers lower the price or I set sail for the Bay. The choice is yours.

now this is soul

There is 3 DLCs announced.
Hopefully they had different writers on those stories because the main campaign story is ridiculous.

It's called Tetris Effect.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetris_effect

How much is that in real money?
10 bucks?

im on advanced, trying to do the queen achievement. Pigs and wheat take up a lot of space so I wanted to do those off of the main island. Since its advanced, islands arent particularly huge and I only have 3 islands since AIs claimed everything else.

Moving off wheat is a bit more difficult since the island also needs to meet the right fertility requirements.
I would just get started with pigs and directly produce the sausage and soap on that island.
Wheat I usually leave on the main island until end game and then just steal an island from the AI (buyout) for my bread and beer production.

Just post a screenshot or something if you are still unsure of what should go where.

>tfw my old laptop cant handle anno1808
it could just barely run 2070, so its not a big surprise, such is poorfag life

I can't wait for the crack to arrive so I can show you how to make a beautiful city

I've only played one Anno game before (Anno 2070) and every time I posted my city people asked me how it was so pretty compared to the shit ones people posted

Not even close, same style but significant mechanical differences.

whoa I'm literally clapping right now! I can't wait for your citys, you fucking poorfag!

Thank you I hope you will learn from me when the time comes

thats my main island. I'm currently setting up a secondary island for production, i guess pigs. I just keep seeing in these threads that to be "good" at endgame you need most if not all of your production off of your main island and I still can't really figure out how to pull that off. Is that something you start early or do you just fuck up your main island until late game and then start moving facilities off to somewhere else one by one?

Attached: screenshot_2019-04-21-08-55-45.jpg (1920x1080, 703K)

Attached: Anno 1800 Screenshot 2019.04.20 - 20.17.21.04_1.jpg (1920x1080, 1.42M)

Why are they both so pretty?

You dont _need_ to it be good at end game, but you need it for tourism which in return is important for getting specialists with powerful effects.
The main priority should be on offloading production that causes pollution and is filthy.
Thats pretty much everything related to making iron/steel and the pig industry.
However, looking at your screenshot you have way more pressing matters than offloading production, which is something you can do pretty much later.
Why are you in the reds at this stage of the game? You should be making lots of dosh.
Setting up beer production for $$$ is way more important.

why is saber in anno now?

dumblr fanbase doesn't play autistic german games

Attached: 1534450020672.jpg (1572x800, 289K)

the new world woman is a communist womans rights advocate and most of the ships have female captains even though women werent even allowed on boats

Why can't you build harbors like in the old preview footage?

Attached: Screenshot_-_City_View_-_IMAGE_297897.jpg (1332x749, 375K)

in the red because of my iron industry I'm assuming. 3 weapon factories, 3 furnaces, 2 steelworks. Costs way more maintenance than my workers are making me. Setting up beer production for happiness? Or to sell?

even the rockpapershitgun commies like it

Attached: rps.png (746x481, 99K)

>diagonal harbour
thats an extreme bullshot if ever i saw one

if you have wheat on your main island you can go all the way to artisans with sewing machines without having to settle a second which should make you enough money to stay afloat

Giving your people access to luxury goods doesnt just increase happiness.
It also makes a lot of money.

Nice that they liked it, but really odd that someone who "loves" city builder games thought they'd seen everything there was that quickly.

What's the ideal main island? Only investors and engineers? or just investors?

Attached: Screenshot (119).jpg (2560x1440, 575K)

>Only list Epic as their store, no uplay
Holy shit, how much Epic pays them?

Why do people even buy from Epic? Doesn't it need uplay to launch anyway?

Did the steam tractors make it into the final game?

Attached: Screenshot (125).jpg (2560x1440, 728K)

yes

Fortnite kiddies or people who doesn't know any better

how do you get them? Some special item?

I wish I could dock my fleet

Ok Im sick of eternal warfare.
How do I make peace with the AI without genociding them?

when you get electricity the transport carts are replaced with little steam cars

flatter them and raise your reputation and save enough money and ask for peace and they'll demand a fee and you can pay them
really fucking annoying and sometimes impossible, just play with easy AIs, combat is not worth the hassle

He "loves" city builders so much that he has obviously never played an Anno game before.

>flatter them
wait whats this. Did I miss something here?

diplomacy screen
bribes can work too

idk man once some extra content comes out for Anno 1800 I think it might be up there along with Anno 1404, perhaps better depending how good they are.

the base game of 1800 has more content than 1404
it has several problems 1404 doesn't have, like shitty naval combat with ships doing stuff you don't tell them to and moving extremely slowly against the wind, and bad quests, bad performance and a few annoying bugs, but the good parts make up for it

Yes, it's best to start mass producing beer. You'll need it to import it to the new world for even more money and happiness.
Also, any anons here know when they'll fix the fucking ship navigation? I swear I can't look away for five minutes without forcing them to continue on their route.

Do their quests and try to ask for trade rights as fast as possible. If they regularly trade with you, they won't lose reputation as quick.
Be careful about allying with the others too. Learned it the hard way when Bente dragged me into a war with the entire map.

Is Cities Skylines worth getting?

>set a trade route between New and Old World to deliver rum to my main island
>trade ship gets blown up by New World pirates (Jean or w/e his name is)
>really mad, build a new trade ship, set it on same route with three gunboats to escorts it
>gunboats stop at edge of old world and don't follow the trade ship into the New World
>unprotected trade ship gets blown up AGAIN
>can't buy ceasefire apparently because Jean isn't on my diplomacy menu (need to find his island?)
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Attached: 1306148734711.jpg (600x600, 333K)

>island doesn't have potato fertility
might as well be a rock filled with disease and nuclear wastes

Attached: 1538931594463.png (478x469, 364K)

That screenshot is gert lush

its a shit game, its a good model city builder if you want to fuck with mods and get some buildings that dont look like shit

Hey as long as they're cute

>like shitty naval combat with ships doing stuff you don't tell them to
You can adjust them to be aggressive or more passive.

I bought this game thinking it would be like AoE but it's way worse and gay. Now I can't refund it.

where

>try to protect my harbour with a fleet set on passive
>look away for five seconds
>they chase a tiny ship right into the enemy base camp

Click on the circle with the picture of the ship that appears in the lower right corner of the screen

The whole games journalism industry is a sorry joke. Some other site also let one guy review the game but the guy clearly had no idea what he was doing based on the screenshots. You would think a retarded 4-yo was trying to play the game. Not surprisingly, he gave the game a low score and said a game like this could never develop a fanbase.

I though charter routes used npc ships instead of your own?

well thats good, the default behaviour has them chase pirate ships halfway across the map into the pirate base and die

How can you buy a game without informing yourself beforehand properly?

And who the fuck doesn't know the Anno series?

>play on expert
>first big main island only have wheat/potato
>AI cheats with their cheating resource headstart and already expand to other island 3 mins in
>they took all the pepper/hop island
>cant make canned food to feed artisan with

No this is a TRADE route where I use my own ship

kek. You seem like a real diplomat

> City Builder.
> Everything is on a grid.

looks like you're just not an expert then

>Literally still locked into 4 directions when building
>No walls
Show me an actually pretty city and I'll buy your game, ubishit

Attached: 1537185261910.jpg (1280x720, 81K)

Well, the decorative piers can be placed diagonally in game but yea would love a whole lot more cosmetic items not only for the docks but everything else too.

This game is literally the only one since dlc became a thing in games, where I can't wait for them to shit out copious amounts of significant and insignificant dlc/expansions for me to gobble up.

WIBBLY WOBBLY WELCOME

>Well, the decorative piers can be placed diagonally in game
no they cant

>active Anno thread on Yea Forums
(You) guys are a treasure!

Attached: Helena_Flores-1.jpg (123x125, 16K)

Well you need 10k investors for ultra lategame so if you can still fit engis or even artisans in afterwards a bit of variety is a must for a nice city.

You're over a month late to this party.

Attached: 20190418115817_1.jpg (1920x1080, 703K)

Defensive stance confirmed for bugged.
But yea, anno 1404 is an amazing game made better with venedig and 1800 is still slightly better(my opinion, feature wise etc) without having any additions yet.

What site? so i can have a good laugh.

rock papers shotgun I think

No he said some other site

Are you fucking telling me that power plants can "grant" electricity only over a limited area? So I fucking have to build one in the middle of my fucking city to maximize the output?

yes
it also produces pollution

Not the piers sorry I ment the quay walls.

>build a steelworks and forget that it needs 100 workers
>worker shortage
>oh okay, I just need to build a few farm houses, wait for them to fill in, then upgrade them
>do this quickly so the population workforces are balanced
>newspaper guy decides to write an article about WORKER SHORTAGE and cause everyone to have -5 happiness
>either that or I have to edit it and get admonished by Princess Qing and my rep will go from 100 to 96

AHHHHHHHHHH

behold.

pcinvasion.com/review/anno-1800-review/

Attached: Anno-1800-PC-review-warehouse.jpg (1024x576, 134K)

that's absolutely fucking retarded

Attached: Anno 18002019-4-21-16-18-9.png (1920x1080, 3.07M)

Well thats direct current for you.

thats life in the industrial age

That's how 19th century power plants worked. They were in the middle of the city and only served a few homes

>New DLC adds new legendary person, Nikola Tesla. Effect, power plant range in ccd increases by 300%.
>Equipped in Trade Union and Town Hall.

He's right tho. While very beautiful to look, especially after making a big city, it's fucking full of bugs, combat is complete shit and AI is beyond retarded.
I don't even know why I bothered playing against 3 star, they won't ever peace so I spend the rest of my game wiping them off the face of the earth. Every hospital and fire station bugged out to the point they display "riot chance" and I can't call for volunteers. I lost count of the number of quests I can't complete. Some didn't even show what I had to do, displaying no icon nor objective test. Etc. etc.

tl;dr Play in easy sandbox mode to make a pretty city, that's all there is to the game. And it's worth it, but I wish I knew that's all there is to it sooner.
Why did they even fucking organize an open beta?

You can read a more detailed quest description by clicking it. It literally tells exactly what you need to do.

Attached: 20190420140709_1.jpg (1920x1080, 312K)

>upgrading warehouses doesn't increase storage capacity by 5
What the FUCK

only playing this until imperator rome comes out

Yeah the game is quite buggy
i'm after quitting and reloading, the charter routes worked as intended.

well it was even buggier before the open beta apparently
it's just shitty project organization, the quests feel really unfinished too, they were actually better in 1404 in almost every way

>Play in easy sandbox mode to make a pretty city, that's all there is to the game
Nice bait.

Attached: 1487851834713.jpg (1280x720, 210K)

You build depots now. It's painless.

EXPLOOOOOOOORE THIS
>gives you 8,000 coins for no reason

>that's all there is to the game

fucking retard.

he's right. as a combat game it sucks, you spam ships of the line to win, they aren't even that hard to produce. combat only gets in the way of city building, especially with the AI who will never sign a peace treaty

CODEX

Attached: 075fu2.jpg (546x550, 29K)

That's all that any city builder is, fuck around and build a city but there's little challenge or depth associated with them and no challenge past the beginning at all.

SotL are superior to steam ships? Good to know. Defenses are a pain though.

>when you see it
>when she sees you
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH

Attached: 1547049584925.jpg (464x480, 115K)

You can get to ships of the line with one island with wheat fertility. To get steam ships you probably have to settle at least 3 more islands and build a trade route to the new world. You'll be dead long before that if you decide to hold off for steam ships

>publish a newspaper as it is because we are doing good
>"NO CHANGES!??"
damn press

Attached: 1524567485755.png (599x563, 364K)

Attached: 1396245226779.jpg (356x356, 10K)

And that's what it should have been. Fuck me for even trying 3 star difficulty, it's a fucking chore and not even hard.

No, I meant I literally got multiple quests in the late game that's didn't even have an objective. That fucking window was empty, just like the notification. Didn't even have an icon.
And multiple quests break when you switch from old to new world, so you can't complete them anymore.

Anno late-game is mindbreaking

Steam ships definitely need a buff. For how expensive they are to build and how much influence they cost, the battlecruisers are shit. Unless ofcourse you micro them well but that's not feasible.
Cargo ships are amazing though.

A reminder, when someone tells you that the freshly released game is "totally the best of all" take it with a grain of salt.

imagine a new difficulty setting where a high amount of unemployment means riots

Attached: 1537196327908.gif (425x481, 1.51M)

Medium and Hard AI advances too quickly.
Easy AI advances too slowly.

steam ships are worth it for the fact that they arent influenced by the fucking wind alone
they really need to tone down the wind effect

it is the best game

Love the game but the influence system sucks

>it is the best game
I've heard the same when the turd sandwich that is Civ 6 released. Sorry, but it's hard to believe when the release window is still open.

The choice is yours.

This isn't Civ
It's not really a strategy game, it doesn't have "depth"
This game is just Anno 1404 but better

Zeus was the worst one of the series

Yea that's why I love the cargo ships. Stick items on them for speed and damage reduction and they don't need escorts most of the time. Ofcourse you can do the same for BCs but it bugs me they still take the same amount of damage from cannon balls as they do from heavy weapons. I think that anything that uses normal weapons should have damage nerfed against the all iron ships.

Worth the 50e? Loved Anno 1404.

what the fucking fuck

Attached: wafeaveavea34.png (800x600, 326K)

No game is worth 50 euros.

Can you exchange uplay points for 20% discount? I think its worth it though, I feel I haven't played much in the past 5 days but I'm already 40+ hours in.

It's as good as 1404, though missing a lot of QoL changes

Ubisoft pulled all their new games from steam while still honoring the pre-orders and such, get it on Uplay instead, it's 20% off if you have some ubishit coins

I got to get this game soon because I can't enjoy a game once the hype has died down.

I'm not getting it at all. I already hated Ubisoft enough and this is more than enough for me to never buy any of their garbage again.

Wow, the graphics are incedible.

I hope they patch in some of the QoL stuff that literally everyone is asking for. Game is great but could be so much better with some small additions.

I seem to be the opposite of you

such as?

Attached: screenshot_2019-04-19-12-42-59.jpg (2560x1440, 1.71M)

Kind of a shame hating the ones that make the games you like.

steam version doesnt require steam running either

Can't reserve a certain amount in your harbor, can't add basic resources to your resource box at the top, can't press delete to delete last placed fields, and other things that were present in previous games.

Attached: screenshot_2019-04-20-14-03-05.jpg (2560x1440, 1.76M)

You must save a fortune on sales. What's your secret?

damn boys this game looks nice

They already got paid by Epic so not like they need my money anyway.

Nobody zooms-in in these games.

>how does it run by the way?
terribly
I have an average PC, had to turn it on low to get a stable framerate, but even then it lags to shit in the lategame

Games do tend to get patched in 2019, user.

>terribly

fuck i love me some city builder but i have plenty of other shit to spend my money on than updating my rig nowadays, kill me

Runs fine for me :)

Great, maybe once they do bring it up to par they could start expecting 50 euro for it. Not before.

I don't know.
Thanks.

These games have long, long followings. Just see how the city building genre is still alive and getting threads despite getting what, one release per year?

How are you supposed to compete with the computer opponents when they expand so damn quickly? And it seems like the level 2/3 ones are always a tier above you in citizens.
Admittedly I put myself in a sort of slow position for a while after I had to babysit the fuck out of my trade ships because I was still building frigates and shit when pirates started interfering.

you can expand right away, go buy some iron from archibald and claim the islands before the AI does

The flagship actually has all the necessary building materials for claiming an island already on it as soon as you start the game. Do some exploring and claim something nearby when you're ready.

How to make any Anno game better:
1. Restart a map.
2. Remove all non-neutral AI players in game setup.
3. Eternal peace!

I know, but even then they still shit out populations and advanced citizens faster than I could even remotely conceive.
I think part of my slow down though was also moving all my farm production to my second and third island.
Its fun setting that shit up at least, and both those farm islands are constantly throwing little festivals.

I'm playing with Explore start, so theres only enough material for one harbor.
As stated though, you can buy the material before you even have workers I think.

that's totally irrelevant. all you need to do is to claim the islands before they do, you don't even need to build anything on it. All the AI players do apart from that is annoy you by declaring war on you

The games run through u-play anyway, why would you buy it through steam?

Comfort

Steam is more reliable.

is this game good for roleplaying.

its hard to do in civ 5

me too. anyone?

Amazing what can happen when a dev admits they fucked up with their latest entry.

it still has to run through u-play

Attached: tenor.gif (220x220, 54K)

Not exactly. That's just a verification check and additional DRM. It runs through steam.

Is the court one of the multi-stage projects? I thought only the world fair had that.

I roleplay that I marry Bente Jorgensen and that my sister Hannah chokes on my fat imperialist cock.

j-just kidding haha imagine how weird haha

yeah it's the only one they ask you to do in the campaign

use Epic Store

Attached: 1528684288838.png (1447x2047, 2.02M)

Maybe that feature just didn´t make it into the game

anno has never had diagonal anything

AHAAHAGAHAHAHAHAHH
Like holy shit what fucking year is this

Attached: 1458773654287.jpg (345x343, 38K)

imagine your sister looking up at you with her sad dark eyes and whispering "cum for me brother" haha lmao

God damnit I was going to fuckin' move my potatoe farms to a new island BUT THERES NO FUCKIN POTATO FERTILITY AAAAAAAAAA

I swear every screenshot from this game looks the exact fucking same. It's like the same assets used over and over and over again. There's no way I'm paying $60 for that.

So go find a potato island

>but the screenshots!
We're all playing the same game which, by the way, you idiot zoomer, is about the gameplay. Not screenshots even though the game is beautiful. Go watch netflix, dope.

what comfort? It works the same. One click from client app- 'play game'.

If you are too stupid to launch uPlay then make it run @ startup.
Comfort to have all egs in one basket, and having 2nd layer of client drm running on top of a game?

Steamdrones are the dumbest niggers out there. Please kill yourself.

do it for them

Attached: 1524974256236.png (1098x660, 1.1M)

obrera is my waifu though

are you stupid?

This is genuine question. Are you stupid my man?

What's the hairstyle on the left called?

is there any danger in upgrading a fuckton of workers into artisans without any of the new artisan needs being met? Will my balance just stay the same? Will it go down? Will it go up?

Yorgensen is better than both combined. Engineer is even better than her

Lmao suck my dick, not giving my information to any more chinks

Have you guys watched the fucking credits yet? This game has too much soul.

You can turn off piracy if you really want to. Pirates exist so trade routes can be challenged and there's a need for escorts. They're not hard to slam down on 'normal', so really no need to turn them off.

Anons, I fucking hate Uplay with a passion, but my love for Anno is greater. So don't think I'm promoting Uplay at all, BUT
There's literally no reason to get it on Steam. You will need to have both Steam and Uplay running to even play the game. Everytime in the future you want to play it, you will again need both launchers. It's incredibly retarded and obnoxious and you might as well get it on Uplay instead. You're literally a contrarian if you're purposefully going to jump through more hoops

Engineer is a girl?

>Being 39 years old.
>Called zoomer.
Never change, Yea Forums.

>she

so you are retarded/.

What chinks? Ubisoft is French. Anno is Ubi series. All ANNO games are on uPlay.
ubisoft.com/en-gb/game/anno-1800

What chinks, what epic?
You dumb fuck please, PLEASE kill yourself.

There's a lot of subtle SJW shit in the game sadly but nothing to get pissed off about. Several ship captains are female, engineer is female, muh wise black/brown man/woman trope and no mention of christianity at all are some of the bigger parts of it.

>Ditchwater
No wonder you cant put it out

CRACK WHERE? NOT PAYING JEW PRICES.

So long as you have enough worker goods to cover the pop boost, and enough workers for your production, yes. It's a straight big money boost.

>no mention of christianity at all

>doesn't know how to greentext
Dumb zoomer

>He thinks getting a job means you spend jew prices on toys
Cringe.

Notice how that's the only cross in the entire game with the exception of two gravestones on the western church when you zoom in.

At least the women are not ugly. I'm fine with more females as long as they are attractive and not a bunch of uggos

>a girl
A woman. The kind that makes jerking you off into a personal biology experiment. The kind that loves to do so with a stern, unwavering gaze and a succubine adroitness while thinking of new devilish ways to get you off and submit her findings to the Nobel assembly. The kind that would have you know every part of her body blindfolded and by taste alone. Not a "girl".

See, now I have a boner.

>meet amazons on expeditions
>brought pelican, use Faith option to pray to them

Doesn´t seem that SJW

I remember enjoying ANNO 1503 a lot when I was a kid.

Do I buy 1800 or play 1404 Venice instead?

Look on Kahina's headdress. She's Christian too.

Attached: anno-1800_6056654.jpg (617x347, 51K)

A bunch of god fearing sailors treating some savages as religious figures isn't exactly a great message in a game that not even dares to say a word about christianity in a timeframe that was notorious for international missionaries popping up left and right.

Anyone? I see shills shilling it as best ANNO game, but I'd rather hear some pros and cons.

You know damn well what I meant.

Genocide or buy them out.
AI doesnt put much effort into buying back shares of non-main islands.

Crack when?

Guess I didn't. Is seeing crucifixes really that important to you?

>he's wasting time bitching about 10-20$ on a game that can give joy for x00 hrs.*

If you had a job you'd earn that difference in maybe 20-40 minutes. But I guess it's better to act like a fucking poorfag faggot for months or a year and cry over 'jew' price that is the same as in every other premium, big title.
If there are games worth full price Anno are one of them.

YIKES

*I guess the problem is it's not 50, or 50$ on release?
You don't wwant it just for free, right?

Attached: 1439145427159.gif (160x154, 970K)

>I know, but even then they still shit out populations and advanced citizens faster than I could even remotely conceive.
Doesnt matter, after the initial rush to Artisans the AI mostly just stagnates and only grows very slowly.

>50, or 50$
ment 40, 50

>>he's wasting time bitching about 10-20$ on a game
>10-20$
>Anno 1800
Fucking retard.

Oh I'm sure it is. But I ain't buying it from Ubisoft or the 1989 Tienanmen Square Massacre store

Attached: 444.gif (480x480, 992K)

did you read what I said?
10-20$ - " that difference"

You bling fucking moron.

No answers?

nobody gives a fuck what you do, sperging out about it in every single Anno thread does not make you more interesting or valuable person.

So brave, don't give them money!

Attached: 1527138177601.png (1280x849, 103K)

I will never understand how people can invest so much time into saving so little money.
Literally just splurg less money on alcohol/weed/smokes/whatever degenerate hobby you have and you are good.
Or work 1h+ (or whatever shitty wage you have) overtime and you still spent less time getting the game.

For this setting? Absolutely. Or if you leave them out have any of the NPCs mention god or christianity in general at least fucking once.

Lmao suck my dick you chink.

Is being christian the new being black thing or something?
You always need a token christian or otherwise you feel offended?

I know you mutts have no history but for us europeans christianity is actually quite important, especially in that timeframe.

Does 1800 have any fun, unique scenarios? I remember 1404 having fun stuff like being able to play as a Corsair, starting on a barren island without any resources whatsoever, the treasure maze map, map where you couldn't tax your population and so on. Anything unique in this game?

I thought europeans were all jerking themselves off for being atheists. At least that's the way it seems, the way America is ridiculed for its continued value of Christianity.

I'm german though.
Anno despite its naming was never a historical game.
Its set in not-europe, focusing on whatever the developers decide to.
The focus of this game is industrialization.
Religion plays a very minor role.

I don't see why it should be important to the game.
And I believe there are plenty of Europeans who will agree with this opinion.

You can't go wrong either way my dude. If you're willing to shell out the cash then you might as well buy 1800. But 1404 will also keep you occupied until 1800 gets a bit cheaper

>I thought europeans were all jerking themselves off for being atheists.
That's only in shitholes like Sweden or the UK.

You are forgetting France.

It's a church, put a cross on it or don't bother at all.

Who the fuck cares?

haha what a faggot

German here, I can see where he is coming from. If religion is important enough for your game to put churches and chapels in it and mention foreign religions on the expeditions then it wouldn't hurt to mention God. Also some other Anno games even mentioned Christianity by name so I'm not so sure about that. It's not a big deal but it's also kinda weird to just leave it out completely.
At least 3 people do as far as I can tell. If you don't care good for you, stop imposing your standards on others.

Aside from the invasion of Paris most of France is actually quite religious still.

autistic idiots, like that guy.

Devs, Blue Byte is German.
Ubisoft is French.

Attached: 1473361354081.jpg (480x380, 14K)

Who the fuck cares anyway? Doesn't matter where you buy it, just buy what you want and don't care.

Archivald and the Prison trader mention God. Some of the text items mention shit too.

Based german crusader trying to save all our souls from damnation.

How fast do you colonize additional islands?
I find that I am the last person to do it, and some AI leaders have 3 before I have 2.

Attached: 1555868868446[2].jpg (702x878, 113K)

/pol/tards are in a christian phase.

>the entire western civilization is in a "christian phase"

>3 years ago in pol: haha christians are so dumb and believe in a magic sky wizard 0: Christians, 1: Atheists
>now in pol: haha I dont even believe in god but I partake in christian rituals and want christian symbols everywhere am I part of the non-npc club now?

>Doesn't matter where you buy it
why do you quote me? I know.
I'm not that guy, I'm bashing that idiot.

Anno 1800 is great, devs are passionate and dedicated and uPlay is a best launcher after Steam and GOG Galaxy.

Christianity is on the decline in Europe, USA, Australia and Canada.
Its only on the rise in Africa and China.

Nah, saying you are an atheist on /pol/ right now is like saying you are a rabbi. Yea Forums was always about making mom freak, and I guess these days being a traditional christian (except you masturbate to gay anime) is the way to do that.

Y es

Attached: 82766200-winking-smiley-gesturing-with-his-hand-emoticon-thumbs-up-showing-positive-mood-.jpg (1300x1124, 77K)

Not him but you have to admit there has been a mass regression of common sense in recent years. Certain groups of people have gone back to the whole "man ins the sky did everything" philosophy. These same people are busy compiling evidence that the holocaust was fake. Weird time to be alive.

>leaving Steam just to jew your consumers a few more bucks

That's a pirate from me, lads.

I don't give a shit what someone on /pol/, or rather Yea Forums as a whole, does or thinks. It's pathetic to debate in a way that implies that "x-board is one person".

Pol and Yea Forums is just contrarian retards who think being the opposite of societal norms makes the smart. Dont forgey that in the US, half the fucking population identifies as christian still. Pol is all boomers now with a persecution complex who fell for tge conservatives christian lies.
Also trigger the libs with my jeebus cringe

>Certain groups of people have gone back to the whole "man ins the sky did everything" philosophy.
Thats what it looks like. But after watching them I have come to a different conclusion.
None of them actually believe in the sky wizard.
The modern trend of christianity is not about belief, but about being part of a group. Basically, being christian has become a form of virtue signaling to prove that you are a conservative.

>cant change town names
I hate it. Fuck Kalaapaa and those other weird ass scandinavian names

Attached: 1543649376211.png (600x450, 243K)

In that case, Blue Byte made the right decision to leave the worship aspect of the game ambiguous.

>no mention of christianity at all
I know you're a big fag, but can literally have priests as items

you can change every island and ship name

Is there any fixes yet to steam version? I want to have steam on so hours will count.

>löl

The nineties called they want their net slang back.

>Tfw the only thing I do in Anno is to start a sandbox game on medium with no AI
Just comfy city building

How do you get attractiveness up? Do I have to spam the fuck out of ornaments in every corner?

I'm tired of the campaigns story, going start a new Sandbox game. What difficulty setting is recommended?

Attached: interrogation mark.png (120x128, 20K)

>Basically, being christian has become a form of virtue signaling to prove that you are a conservative.
this so much
they basically use christianity as a fashion club
none of them are actually engaed in any church work etc

Actual red pill. This is what religion has been since the 50s when Americans had to show how christian they were to prove they arent commies. It jist has become even more of a farce

that's totally fine

Are you new? Then just stick to the normal difficulty. The ai is retarded so it gives you plenty room for error and figuring out the game

Thank you for accepting the way I play, user

they always did
its not a fucking real life politics simulator, but a comfy game that doesn't want to be totally a-historical

Once you get to the end of Artisans, I believe, you unlock the Zoo and eventually Museum. All your beauty is going to be coming from these structures so using ornaments isn't all that important.

Blue byte has always been based by keeping the games out of real world politics and history and instead only theming it in european architecture and style. If they added it, it would just muddy the gameplay and give retards and journos ammo to fight with.

>for us europeans
you know, we have churches here that don't have crosses on them
sometimes its just a spire

Attached: 7646456.png (1052x1137, 191K)

This. Based devs

>Blue byte has always been based by keeping the games out of real world politics
this game is full of feminist shit

>cant change town names
you can, click on it and rename, Christ.

Attached: 1501732517659.gif (500x267, 999K)

So let everything be hideous and disgusting until Artisans THEN worry about it?

Gotcha.

>this game is full of feminist shit

>meme buzzwords coming from 15yo's mouth: the post

ok, they are feminist. Now I can truly see.
Can you not act like a faggot?

How important is it to rush for other islands? Should I be racing against the AIs or is it fine just having 2-3 islands?

Also, I should be focusing more advanced production on my "main" island and using the other islands for the ugly stuff like metalworking and basic farmer stuff right? I'm a chunk into Artisans and was thinking about moving most of my simpler production off my main island now.

Are there any graphs anywhere? A detailed summary on what is costing money and what brings money? Hell I don't even know how much I'm earning/losing on trade.

rome and greece were pagan christard

what?
women did not captain boats
they werent even allowed on boats

The best answer is do what your brain can handle
keep in mind you get a commuter dock at engineers so you can share populations between islands
The more islands you develop the more money you'll make, but that's alot of fucking micromanagement for a human to handle

It will never get that bad. Just having open, untouched wilderness will give you plenty beaty score to stay at least in the "quaint" stage of things.

Attached: 20190417191706_1.jpg (1920x1080, 697K)

Who the fuck cares. You're just like SJWs looking for opportunities to be offended

Nope, but there is a calculator, just google ANNO 1800 Calculator and enter your population and shit.
It's my one major gripe with the game, there's so much shit to juggle that it's genuinely strange that there isn't a consumption stat window or graph.

More islands means less comfy, so I would always go for the minimum amount of islands you need to fill your needs.
At the start of the game you should rush a nearby, good, well located island with hop/paprika since hop means beer means money and paprika is essential for engineers.

Likewise, in the new world you definitely need islands that produce banana, cotton and coffee.

VIDEO GAMES.

Is anyone else in love with the soundtrack?

>women did not captain boats
The other user already said it so nicely so I will just quote him

Are you really that much of a little bitch?

>Ebic Exclusive*

What fucking immersion do you have? Its a fantasy version of our history. Fucking seethe

But what does attractiveness actually do?

Try to get enough islands so that all fertilities are covered. Three islands per map are usually enough for that. Also try to find islands close together so less shit can happen to your trade routes. Both super important in the new world.

>Changing
>Not based on anything real
Hmmmm user its almost like...ohmygod its a video game very loosely based on reality
You fucking retards are worse than tranny discord moderators

Tourism. And tourism in return gives a bit of money and more importantly specialists.

It's based on the desire to depict gender equality even when it makes no sense
You're denying what's plainly there and calling me offended for pointing it out
I'm not even mad

Makes your dudes happier. The higher tiers fucking hate having heavy industry on your island.

Which is more comfy?
Which OST is better?

1404 or 1800?

you are a male version of very annoying, bitching, boring tumblrina.

Yes and building construction took longer than 2 seconds.
I guess devs are shit and game is a feminist propaganda because you have some hotties in game.

You miserable, boring virgin.

Okay, who cares, enjoy the game and if you don't then stop to play. Is it that hard?

Guys I know we're talking about the new ANNO but how did you like the futuristic ones?
Wanna hear your opinions since I kind of like the scifi aesthetic. Don't mind them going back to the old world one though.

I care, which is why I pointed it out, sorry that upsets you

both pretty good.

youtube.com/watch?v=NtkK5tVEDtI

1800 lacks nostalgia ofc, but in few years they might be equal for me.

I loved the aesthetic of the newer ones. The mechanics and gameplay were a bit weird, but I didn't really mind them either. I actually really liked a lot of elements of 2205 that I wish had made it into this game, like the huge regional projects (hydro dam for example).

Eventually you can build a pier specifically for mooring tourists. They will give you chunks of money based on the attractiveness of the city. Also, a nicer city will periodically attract those special people you can use to boost buildings and whatnot.

Why would I pay full price when I can torrent it and buy it on sale? Having a job means I understand the value of a dollar and that means I know a toy isn't worth 80 canuck bucks.

This is why you will always be despised. Learn to shut the fuck up.

If you despise me for pointing out something obvious then you have mental problems

MODS

Thanks for removing these shitty posts.

Aaah fuck it I'm buying it

For some reason, when hearing 1800 OST it reminds me of... Heroes of Might and Magic IV with some of its sea tunes... (best Romero's work BTW).

youtu.be/o0mJEJvWkYk?t=929

I found 2205 boring and too different than 1404. 2070 is good

Don't forget to tip the janny. After all he does it for free.

still waiting for the crack (I read it was unlocked yesterday so at the very least they are looking into it). Haven't pirated a game for over a decade, excited as fuck (especially after the debacle that was 2505).

Attached: 1280px-Lunar_eclipse_al-Biruni.jpg (1280x902, 338K)

but you bring no valid point here that would explaing anything.

I'm not forcing you to bou come cosmetic dlc, season pass or whatever.
This is a good, extraordinary title.
It' worth normal price. It won't bomb like 76 or Anthem.

It's not a 6 hour singleplayer shitshow and repetetive mp with lootboxes. If you are a fan of this genre ([economic]rts) it's a solid choice. If I could buy one game in 2019 it would be it.

I don't care if you pirate it, but what makes it worse that it doesn't deserve buying on launch?
Blue Byte are legendary devs and Anno are aweome games.

I live in Poland and in here it also costs a lot, just like every other new game on this AAA level.

Just wait till autumn sale, you'll get it for 40, including Season Pass or whatever.

I just don't understand hate. It's one last honest game series out there m8.
Pirate it, but don't try to make up reason to do so, not for Anno.

Attached: 1507977248173.gif (281x295, 2.97M)

He doesnt have a job and wouldnt buy it even if he did. Dont waste your time on these losers

based polak

I really liked 2070. It brought some new features to the table involving the ark and the online world government and being able to explore and build underwater. A solid Anno game that doesn't stray too far from the established formula.

2205 is not terrible but it's also not good. Thorough disappointment in terms of being called Anno.

Still early in the game but is it viable to have an "Industry island" where all your shitty factories and pollutions are located? Or would the negative effects become too much to manage?

I'm trying to go for this aesthetic

Attached: 1542080216680.jpg (800x450, 35K)

I'm not the guy you've been arguing with all thread I just don't think any video game is worth more than 50 bucks. With market saturation and a repeated abuse of consumer trust by the industry I simply do not think new releases are objectively worth more than 50 dollars. Couple this with the fact that tones of games abuse DLC and microtransations you're more likely to be paying 100 dollars plus for a full game. I'd rather spend that money on beers with the boys or just let it sit in the bank.

Don't get me wrong, I want to support games that I enjoy and want to see more of. I just won't spend more than 50 bucks at a time to do so.

I do have a job which is why I understand the value of a dollar. I don't bust my ass only to piss my money away. That's why people stay poor. You don't get ahead by spending a lot of money on toys.

Yes. The negative effects (riots and fires) would only add to the aesthetic

It's possible, you either build housing for workers on that island or wait until you unlock commuter port so you don't have to build housing in that island

yes
pollution isnt that bad

I understand you, my man

How do you deal with chances of fires and riots? Like how do you decrease them? Do I spam fire stations everywhere or something, or are certain areas just going to have a high chance of fire constantly no matter what I do?

unless you play 1602 first you will always be a casual.

>You don't get ahead by spending a lot of money on toys.
games by default are a waste of money and time (so waste of money x2).
It's a luxury pass time.

But compared to movie tickets, trips abroad, paying insurance for a decent car, having needy gf fun cost/hour is DIRT cheap with Anno.

As long as you don't have to buy new PC to play this one title...
Games get -50/-66% discounts pretty fast these days.
Now poeple pay 'tax' for playing game on release. Just wait.

tightly packed buildings cause fires. to avoid fires, space them out, although honestly I think it's better just to build fire stations
To avoid riots, keep your population happy and don't use propaganda. If use propaganda all the time your population will riot even if they're happy

>when your island has iron and the cutscene begins

Attached: 5676786784678.png (659x609, 66K)

Fire stations decrease the chance somewhat, but mostly they make sure that any fire that does happen is extinguished before it can do real damage.

Building density is going to cause fires anyway, but it won't matter that much

>fires
Packed buildings even with fire station, space them out.
>riots
Just keep your population happy and build police stations

Should I jump straight into the sandbox? Is the campaign fun?

Attached: anno-1800-3840x2160-gamescom-2018-screenshot-4k-20064.jpg (3840x2160, 2.89M)

straight to sandbox, the campaign sucks

From my experience, the fires seem to happen at precisely the places where you aren't covered by fire stations

I started with pic related haha

Attached: 001.jpg (500x455, 54K)

Oh shit user thats a great idea!
All this time I had been focusing on making a clean main island and industrialized secondary islands but this is actually a cool idea.
Super industrialized main island and all the culture stuff on a vacation island or something like that.

Now I have to restart again, thanks user.

The campaign is basically a tutorial. Just like the other Anno games

yes. VO is nice, cinematics are fun to watch and relaing.
Quests are good for this type of game. Worth going through. It's not super long, considering lenght of ''full'' sandbox game.

Especially if you are new to the series.

Attached: anno-1800-3840x2160-gamescom-2018-screenshot-4k-20067.jpg (3840x2160, 1.69M)

Campaign if you want to unlock reward stuff or earn ubisoft shekels

Sandbox if you don't care about that

Is that real?

Yes, and it was good.

oof

Attached: screenshot0087.jpg (1680x1050, 740K)

Yeah I could show you if only I didn't give it to a friend

What?

You know what guy's? I'm really happy to see you enjoy this anno game, anno has always been a pretty niche game and it's great so see so many people have fun playing it

you need to step up to the real thing.

The the actual thing BlueByte never surpassed.

Don't be a meanie.

I wish city builder games had street level cameras.

Whats the point of this item?

For growing potatoes on an island with no potato fertility with -15% production malus

Never did I think I would see an Albionposter on Yea Forums

How does it feel to have such good fucking taste?

Attached: 1540297584059.jpg (863x720, 53K)

allows you to bypass the fertility requirements

The provided thing actually means fertility, I wish they'd make that clearer

Does it do anything new or should I just play 2070?

You can now grow potatoes in Mars once you build the moon cannon, fight the martian tripods and then reverse engineer their tech to creat space boats.

What do you prefer, to build stuff close to the resources(Clay/Brickworks, Metalworks/Foundries), or clump stuff together near a trade union as your industrial quarter?

It seems like early warehouses struggle a lot if you rely on teleporting goods across the island.

Attached: 1548589072150.png (148x128, 29K)

I'm not paying the early adopter tax. I'm not.

I want a fantasy anno game.

fite me

Good for (You)

Not for the last ~1800 years bucko.

Attached: 1550578981984.jpg (1920x1080, 622K)

I bunch shit up once I actually get items to make trade unions gud. Otherwise I bunch resource chains together to minimize cart time.

How is that different from people simply moving or slowing production?

For some things like breweries I like to clump them together because specialists hat boost productivity for them aren't too rare. For others I build them together with the supply chain so I don't have to rely so much on warehouses, unless I find a really good specialist to refactor everything

I`m not that poster, but do you realise that certain countries have lower income?
I support indies, but fuck giving a night of my life to big publisher.

But regional pricing is a thing. Some guy in eastern europe isn't paying the equivalent of 60 ameridollars for a game.

Gimme a good non-anno game to play while I wait for the crack

Epic shits all over that

Tropico whatever I guess?

Then don't use Epic?

Dawn of man

>muh western civilization exist only since the time I want it to exist
t. amnat tard

>tfw best entry in the series
>only minor missteps which can easily be fixed in patches
its a dream come true

I love this fucking game.

Had to actually screw open my R4DS and fix it to make this possible.

Are there any land battles?

YOU'RE TYING THE KNOT
N E V E R

How does it improve from 1404/2070? Debating whether I should buy it. I don't like how it's basically a packing simulator where the best way to play is by looking at layouts online, how it punished players who aren't greenseers by expecting you to demolish buildings you put down early so you can add a tavern or whatever crap your later stages want. I also disliked how the game became a headache later on with all the trade routes and complicated production chains you needed to keep in mind

Hahaha nice man. I hope you're going to play it for a couple hours now.

No more land battles. Only harbor sieges now. And sea battles obviously.

I’ve never played anno and my shitty PC can’t handle 1800. Should I just play 1404 until I get a better PC :c

Or maybe I can play 1800 at 720p or something.

Layouts are much more freeform now with farms however you want to lay them out and utility buildings accounting for roadways instead of just being radius based. You still build gridliek cities but there's incentives to spread shit out more.

Just play 1404, man. Why wait? It's fun and cheap.

1800 has that

And regional pricing also differs for countries
Here games have been sold at first world prices for decades but the minimum wage is less than 5 USD, of course if you're making that much you probably don't even know what video games are in the first place but still
Metro Exodus got a price rise in everywhere but the US even on fucking consoles after it became an exclusive, he's referring to that

They had to go 2D but there it is. Handheld Anno.

People should be pirating epic exclusives anyway. Every dollar you spend on one is that much less Epic has to give the developer and the more justified they are in their timed exclusivity bullshit.

... And it was surprisingly great.

is this bait?

It literally does. Check keybindings and manual, or play fucking tutorial.

No srsly- is this bait?

Attached: 1512247762840.jpg (1024x771, 143K)

Banished
Tropico 4
Dawn of Man
Cities: Skylines

I'm in mexico and they are also asking me 60usd for this game, considering wages here are half what an american does they are not caring about regional pricing at all

Can anyone give me a few quick pointers?

Are warehouses global? ie if I put a warehouse near some production buildings and they take goods there, those same goods will be available in all my warehouses/port

How do you tell how much production a given chain can handle? For instance the game told me that a brickworks can handle 2 clay mines, but I'm not sure where the game tells me this.

Is it better to have self contained areas? Do you need houses near to where you're producing things or are workers just sort of an all present number that needs to be filled.

>Are warehouses global?
Only to the island
>How do you tell how much production a given chain can handle?
Look at how long it takes for a building to produce one unit of goods when you hover over it in the construction menu. For example, it takes 30 seconds for a mill to make flour, but 1 minute for a grain farm to produce grain, so you need two grain farms for every windmill.
>Do you need houses near to where you're producing things
No, it's just a number.

The game is full of memory leaks. I have to restart regularly to get my performance back and it's one of those fucking games that always "crash" on exit. I seriously hope they will patch this some more.

Your goods are available from any warehouse/port on one island. Just make sure the warehouses are connected to a port via roads.

If you want to share goods between islands you need to transport them or set up automatic trade routes.

When building you can see timers. For examble, product A is produced every 30 seconds, product B is produced every 1 minute. You have to build two factories for product B to handle all the product A you make.
Your citizens don't need to be near your production buildings, just on the same island (until you get the commuter harbor thing that lets you share workforce between islands)

MAGNET

Thanks for bug testing for us.

comfy as fuck

Attached: kophiguide[1].jpg (2120x894, 2.49M)

Cool thanks. So I should be building self contained production areas with a warehouse in them for most of the industry and it doesn't really matter where they're placed except for aesthetic reasons?

Yep.

Got such a sunburn here.

Great. It looks to me like wood/potatoes,wool, pigs are all 1:1. Grain is 2:1:2?
