I actually made one!! It's even got the Sausage and the Chef walking on the top layer on the ladders and everything

MISSION 1.... START!!
It's Metal Slug!!! Mission 1 from the first game, the Slug moves back and forth on a zigzag pattern to simulate the treads, the front has a cannon in it, if you launch an opponent into the cannon it almost assures a KO if it's on the left of the screen

Shit would have been perfect, I also was thinking it'd be neat if the pieces had a way to fall if they were walked on but I couldn't think of any way to implement it

The stage is surprisingly really fun to play on, it's got lots of open space but also the bottom middle and bottom left have enough closure that they're safe zones if you're at high percentage

Thanks! After I learned I can attach cannons to moving objects I knew it was the next thing I had to make, it seems like a good way to make stage hazards that can actually kill you, if not the only way really that I've found so far. The lava only does it at really high damage

Now I want to make a stage based on 2/X
Also, someone made a pretty neat stage based on the final boss of 3

I feel like the MS trilogy has enough good shit in it that there's a Stage to be made in almost every Mission in each game

I searched "Metal Slug" and found it, hoping there'd be more

4 is a criminally low amount of results for Metal Slug, hope it gets some more Stages soon

I tried making this, but I gave up because I suck at background shit and it was looking generic as fuck.

Shit that's a really good idea, I don't know if it'd be possible to capture all the details necessary to make it recognizable though and not hit the weight limit

Imagine the bottom has a Killer Whale in it that acts like the fish on the Ice Climber stage

Do anyone actually play in these stages? I always assumed they are more for sharing artwork/references or making a quick joke rather than something you play again and again.

I've started to enjoy my custom stages more than the majority of the actual stages in the game. Once you learn how to get them to be functional the Builder is actually really amazing with it's potential

No matter how hard I try I just DO NOT understand how to play this fucking game.

The same way you play any other fighting game. Know what your character can do then predict, react and punish your opponent with those moves until you win.

If you read the thread, you can clearly see people have been playing them in online arenas.

I always try to focus on making my stages also be at least a bit interesting in the gameplay department, like my crocomire stage that is based around kicking people out of the right side into a wind tunnel
